Funny, I have been thinking about getting a UPO as well, and then instead of screwing around with modding the cheap clasp, just getting the entire gen bracelet and clasp from Frei or even the Omega AD, and then installing on the UPO. However, I remember trying to do that on a rep sub I had, (again due to clasp issues) but the endlinks wouldn't fit, because the springbar holes in the rep sub didn't line up with endlinks on the genuine bracelet! So I returned the bracelet and that rep is collecting dust. I just want to make sure if I get a UPO that I can actually fit the gen bracelet and not have to have someone drill new holes or something crazy like that.

When I was in NYC last year, I almost sprung for a rep UPO for $90 US, but the clasp was the deal breaker. The case, bezel, crystal, and bracelet were VERY impressive, but the mushroom clasp was quite weak, and did not come CLOSE to opening and closing like the buttery soft and smooth clasp on the gen PO. Also, the divers extension did not snap tight either, it just kind of "pushed" back into place. My question is, if I get a UPO, will the gen clasp fit properly on the rep bracelet? Are the tolerances the same on the gen and rep?

Hello to the Board. You have a great forum here, and I can see it will take awhile to get acclimated, but I will take my time. I got into reps when I was working in NY last year, and a buddy took me down to CT and introduced me to his favorite dealer. I picked up a very nice pair of his and her Roadsters, but I also got burned on a crappy sub where the clasp broke after a couple months, so hopefully will find something with much better quality.
