That's just ugly. If you are going to rough it, just go with a G-Shock, Luminox, or even an MTM special ops. Any of those would look a lot better than a Rolex with painted camo. Plus you don't have to worry about scratches or breaking one of those.

I doubt you would get in trouble wearing a fake watch, as tons of people do, and you can always say you thought it was real, honest mistake, it was a gift, you got ripped off, etc. etc. It isn't illegal to purchase rep goods in most places in the world. Getting caught with two or three is a lot more iffy. I would do some research on the laws in Thailand about that kind of thing before you go for it. Most likely they just confiscate your reps and send you on your way, but I would check that out first.

The high-end rep should be awesome. Clean, elegant lines, but nothing too complicated to screw up. The good ones will probably run about 3 bills.

That is a pretty ugly looking watch, no getting around that, but there ARE going to be LV freaks who will buy it. My wife received a knock-off LV purse as a gift, and although I thought it was a monstrosity, she loved it, and all her friends were so envious. Go figure.

I like it! The new streamlined design should do well, and I know some people don't like the bulkiness of the DSSD, but I never had a problem with mine. I love the weight and heft of it, like a beefier version of the sub. But that's just me.

To me, (and I appreciate you pointing out the differences between the rep and your friends' gen), most average people wouldn't be able to identify those flaws, even if you handed it over to them for close inspection. The harder sell, at least for me, would be trying to pull off wearing a $20K timepiece in the first place!!
