  1. Hi Moppel - nice to meet you as a fellow Omega fan !! I absolutely agree with you about the breadth and depth of knowledge and decorum on this forum - it doesn't get much better !! I have recently bought a 5th Gen 42mm PO from Paul at Wo-Mart (who, incidentally I cannot fault for price and service !). I have been umming and aahhing about going for the 6th Gen 45mm PO but I'm not sure about the size, should I go for it or play safe with my 42mm, which is also a fantastic rep ! Have a look at: http://www.wo-mart.com/product_info.php?products_id=1138
  2. V.Stylish ! But not my taste. H-D, great sound but if you want a REAL bike with THE sound you need to own a Ducati V Twin !
  3. thanks By-Tor, no surprise that it s a Rolex but I still have no idea why it is called a "Noobmariner" !!
  4. Hi I'm quite new to this game although I have recently "splashed out" on 4 different Omega reps ( 1 x SMP, 1 x 007, 1 x 007 Special Edition and 1 x 42mm PO). As you can see I am definately an Omega fan !! However, I have read a number of threads that mention a "Noobmariner". I have no idea what this is but I gather it's a Rolex... Can anyone enlighten me ?
  5. And of course, there is always the SMP Chrono to consider (Decisions, decisions, decisions ...)
  6. Still wering my trusty SMP (and swapping between that and my 007 Special Edition) but the PO (42mm 5th Gen) is my second fave at the moment. I'm thinking of buying a 45mm "Ultimate Edition" PO but I'm not sure if there is enough of a difference between the 42mm and the 45mm to warrant the expense and it is too big? - any recommendations would be well received.
  7. Hi ! I have bought an Omega PO from Paul at WoMart and he couldn't have been more helpful. The watch arrived in the UK in four days and it is of fantastic quality for the price (looks and feels just like the original) so I wouldn't heitate in recommending him (or his prices !!). I have just ordered an Omega 007 Special Edition from Paul and I am tracking it on Fed Ex - should be here on Monday. Can't decide what to get next (I'm definately an Omega fan but, like you I own three Citizens - great diving watches !!)
  8. I bought a 007 SMP with a white face but I'm sure that is a fantasy model - it's a pretty watch even so...
  9. Why wear long sleeves to cover your pride and joy ?? Women wear expensive jewellery for all to see and admire - to me, my watches are my jewellery, so why not show them off? I'm not bothered if anyone says anything or not because you can tell if people are admiring your watch without them having to say anything - I wear nice (rep) watches to 1) tell me the time and ii) as a fashion statement - Show the buggers off or buy a cheap Timex !!!
  10. Yup ! And if you look closely, he's blowin' off !! Neat spray job on a helmet, huh ?
  11. I had an ex salesman from Goldsmith's jewellers in the UK "admire" my Brietling Cronomat Automatic. He spotted it while I was in a car showroom and "cooed" over it, telling me how expensive they are (£35,000 for the gen in white gold with mother of pearl dial !). That made my day ! I have also had a guy mistake my Seamaster Pro for the genuine article.
  12. Anal....girlfiends.... perhaps we shouldn't go there !!!!!
  13. Having read a number of forums on the difference between a genuine watch and a replica I started to wonder if we (the replica enthusiast) are starting to "lose the plot". I was reading a debate on Anti-reflective crytals on Omega watches and the alignment of the bezel not being as good as the genuine article. Let's just stop for a minute and think about what we're asking for - I have just bought a 5th gen. Omega PO and I paid the equivalent of 5% of the price of the genuine article. To me, it is as good as owning the original and a blind man would be pleased to spot the difference between it and a genuine PO ! A replica by it's definition is not a "perfect clone" (despite the name of a certain replica company !!), if it was perfect, it would no longer be a "replica". Let's not get too hung up about "minor" differences and imperfections, after all, for the money, these watches are all masterpieces and I applaude the superb workmanship and engineering of the peolple who strive to create the perfect "replica" for us hard to please enthusiasts.
