  1. Cheers Pug for doing a UK order ! I'm chuffed to bits with mine !! I bought my "UPO" from Jay & Angel and the strap fits "like a glove" with no flexing at all. The spring bars were a nightmare to get through the holes but the strap fitted in seconds and there is no gap at all between the case and the ends of the strap. If there is a slight difference between the cases supplied by Silix and other dealers, it may account for the variations in fit of the straps from Silix? And now I'm a "VIP", here's a wrist shot ! :
  2. I'm right with you Laz ! I've been a member roughly the same length of time and I am amazed at the amount of information I have picked up. I have amassed a number of, what I would class as, very high quality reps and I now have some idea of what to look for so the chance of "being seen off" with shoddy replicas that die within a short time are reduced. I would like to say a BIG THANKS to the team at RWG and all the members for a great site and long may it continue !!
  3. From what I have read in other threads, the blue PO (chrono/non chrono) is a fantasy watch but, strangely enough, I actually quite like the look of it ....
  4. Great photos Dutchy !! The engraving on the clasp looks the deepest I have seen on an Omega rep; it looks much deeper than on any of the three PO's I have (or is it just a "trick of the light?).
  5. Put simply - Euchhhh !!!!!!!!!!
  6. Shhhhhhhh, don't mention the war; I did once but I think I got away with it !.................
  7. Hi david-aussie I ordered my SMP form Silix-prime and it has the ETA 2824 m'ment. If I was going to order another SMP, I would probably try another dealer !
  8. So you are saying it is OK to shove a rep under the nose of an employee in an AD because they are going to be too stupid to notice? - Very dangerous! For every 3 or 4 "uneducated" sales people, there is going to be 1 who knows his/her stuff. Showing a rep in an AD - it's not big and it's not clever !!
  9. I have to disagree - it's bad enough buying a watch made from the remains of what is essentially a mass grave but to then hanker after a rep is totally ghoulsih !
  10. I'm sure this site has been talked about before but I had to laugh when I read the fifth paragraph ! : "Isolated - Certainly there are no clubs for owners of fakes. No comraderie among fellow owners. No sharing of tips, tricks and performance issues. No assistance with operation, warranty or repair issues. Fake buyers are on their own with nobody to care, nobody to help and nobody to compliment or encourage them--except for the occasional person you might encounter that doesn't know enough about watches to realize you are trying to 'impress' them with a cheap counterfeit." I was almost in tears !! For the full story: http://www.chronocentric.com/watches/count....shtml#whatsays
  11. Thanks for your support TeeJay, I have decided to contact Jay & Angel and see if they are prepared to do anything for me.
  12. I will post some pics as soon as I can. I'm that disappointed with it, I was tempted to sell it straight on. It really needs a new dial, new hands and a new clasp - I'm not sure if it's worth the hassle and the expense, especially as I've just had to have repairs done to my 007 (2006 Special Edition) and my Orange UPO (which stopped after 3 weeks !)
  13. I have amassed quite a collection of Seamaster's including 42mm and 45mm POs, 007 Special edition SMPs and the ubiquitous SMP Chrono. I have only just got round to ordering a standard SMP and chose Jay & Angel as the dealer. It is by far the worst of all the Omega reps I own - the hands are too short, the waves on the dial are virtually non-existant and the markings on the clasp are skewed at a angle !! This was supposed to be the jewel in my collection; what a let down after everything I had read about the SMP being one of the best reps out there !
  14. Apart from all the other inacuracies on this watch, the CG is the worst I have seen on an Omega rep. Here's how it SHOULD look: http://www.omegawatches.com/index.php?id=2...&no_cache=1
  15. Doesn't look like the rubber strap is very popular in Europe !!
  16. Count me in (does England count as Europe?)
  17. Point taken..... I paid my one off membership fee and 've been meaning to go the whole hog - guess I'd better do it so I don't get any more tellings off !!
  18. Welcome Ingvar !! Actually internet porn and owning mechanical watches are quite compatible - winding an automatic is all in the wrist movement !
  19. Hi Randstad ! and welcome from a fellow limey (god, that sounds so American !!). Get your first Omega and you'll be hooked ! - you'll never look at another Rolex again !!
  20. On the other side of the coin, there are some of us who could not warrant spending, or even afford to spend, $3000 - $4000 on a gen. Buying reps is the only way to come close to owning the genuine article. I personally would not then go and risk being made to look a bit of "cheapskate" or "skinflint" by being called out by some "spotty oik" in an AD who is in no better position to afford a gen than yourself.
