  1. I wasn't sure if the collectors used the PM system - I'll give it a go... Cheers for the advice pobiga Thanks V - you're a star !!
  2. Hi V, I have been sending Jay a lot of emails lately as I've been having a few problems getting a new order sorted to my staisfaction (it's a long story...!). I sent him payment today for one of his bargain ETS SFSOs and wanted to confirm my address. Problem: he has received my money but he can't receive my shipping address as his emails have been "bouncing back. I'm just a little worrried...
  3. Just ordered (another) watch from Jay but when I tried to send my shipping address, my email bounced back, undelivered. Tried again, same problem. Is anyone else experiencing the same thing with Silix-Prime?
  4. My SFSO sporting it's new Honey-brown sharkskin strap from BOB !
  5. It looks a beast !! Enjoy it when it arrrives ! BTW, who are you getting it from?
  6. Thanks for that AMK000, that's now added to "My favourites" !
  7. Excellent Anton !! and I thought it was just me...........
  8. Thanks Hyster, I hadn't seen that and the crystal certainly doesn't look that thick (as bigpops has alluded to) but, as I said in my initial post, the Citizen is HUGELY thick in comparison to the SOSF and it is ONLY tested to 100Bar ! You would never know, by looking at it (apart from the tiny writing on the dial saying "2000m/6600ft") that this is a serious diver's watch capable of withstanding pressures up to 200Bar ! !
  9. A while ago, I owned a Citizen 1000m Promaster NH6930-09E Pro Diver's watch. It was a HUGE watch and monstrously thick. To withstand pressures of up 100Bar (at 1000m), the crystal was 6mm thick (which wouldn't look out of place on the bottom of a Coca-Cola bottle !!). Looking at the crystal on my SOSF and pictures of the gen, it is apparent that it is not much thicker than that found on a non diving watch. It amazed me that a watch, that can purportedly function at depths of 2000m, can be as stylish and slim as the SOSF - How do Breitling do it ?? !! The Citizen Promaster Pro Diver's Watch with 6mm thick crystal.
  10. OK, it's a fantasy model but a bit different !! - my latest aquisition (and pictures) from Narikaa. Comments?? - Please don't be TOO rude !
  11. This proves one thing only - the rep is as close to the gen as you are likely ever to achieve. Why shell out the price of a gen when you can have a rep that, without the use of a loupe, is as near as damn it identical, for a fraction of the cost !!
  12. There have been some fantastic Breitling pics posted and it never ceases to amaze me at the quality of the photography of the members at RWG - I take my hat off to you all !! I'm now going to undo all the good work by posting my own photo !! I have recently bought two Breitlings - a BCE and a SFSO. I don't get all the hype about the Steelfish, OK, it's a stylish watch but compared to the BCE, it's a bit "plain". I have also noticed that all the BCEs that have been posted have the stick hour markers - so here's mine with Arabic numerals. By the way, can someone tell me how to display my photos full size and not reduced by 97% ?!!
  13. Fair play to you ! It takes balls and the understanding that if it does go "Pete Tong", you've just blown $150 - $300 (or whatever you paid for it). I guess the safest bet is to try it on a relatively inexpensive watch, such as one with a non ETA Asian movement. My worry is that, if I tried it and I got a bit of steam under the crystal, would this cause all the parts inside to rust and sieze up, even if the "misting" dried up and disappeared?
  14. Here in the UK, they have just announced another outbreak of "Foot & Mouth" disease, or should that be "Foot IN Mouth" !!
  15. A little common sense at last - well said !! I have bought a number of reps and used a number of dealers (sorry, "collectors"). At the end of the day, you know how much you are willing to spend and the choice is out there. The old addage "You get what you pay for" may not always hold much water as far as the watches themselves are concerned but it often seems to work for the after sales service. I've bought a similar watch to one that Andrew or Josh are selling, for $50 less from another dealer but when it has gone "[censored] up" it has been a right royal pain in the butt to get it repaired/replaced. I know that if I'd paid that extra $50 from Josh/Andrew, the problem would have been sorted with no drama. At the end of the day, we all have free will to buy what we want from whoever we want - at least with Josh, Andrew, Jay, Paul, PT and all the other "trusted traders", along with advice in abundance from this and other similar forums, we can make informed decisions and pay what we feel comfortable paying for the replica watch of our dreams - and long may that choice remain !!
  16. Sorry, no pics at the mo but yours is a great shot. As for the watch, I'm no expert on Panerais but I think the 253 is a great looking watch. I agree with you about the flaws but I can live with them as it's such an impressive looking watch - I just love mine !! I'd like to see it on a SS bracelet.
  17. Just noticed - it's EUR62 not $62 - not so cheap !!
  18. Me too !! I see Andrew's "partner in crime", Josh, isn't selling any either - now there's a surprise !!
  19. Confused ? :cc_confused: Ever thought, "I wish I'd never started....."
  20. Keep trying Silix ! I'm sure he will get back to you soon, you just have to be a little patient...
  21. That's a great looking rep and an excellent photo - congratulations!
  22. I recently bought the new SMP Olympic Chrono from Andrew which basically appears to have the same case and movement, and I've noticed that the case has a serial number, (a la uPO), etched onto the underside of one of the lugs (which I see from the photo, yours has too). I also own the standard SMP Chrono which I bought a few months ago but the serial number is missing.
  23. We're all addicts, it's just that some of us are more addicted than others !
  24. Cheers, 2005SUBMARINER ! Glad you like it ! I've been a Fire Officer in the UK for the last 22 years. :fireman1:
