  1. This is very true. Only dials I wouldn't clip would be very rare vintage dials or brand new late model sub dials that have a high value but everything else is subject to my clippers
  2. Well you can not buy just the case. You need to get the whole watch and either sell off the movement and/or use the movement in other projects. for me I have been robbing the movements and using them on projects and since the subs are not really that great I figured the DJ would be the next best thing and they are. They are awesome as long as you have the right parts. I started off on the wrong foot by trying to install a 2836 not realizing there is a big difference. And if your using a 3035 case you can use either movement no problem. 3135 is a different set up as far as dimensions are concerned.
  3. No worries! You will need a press how ever to push that bezel down properly. The TC stock gasket is very weak and is not very secure. Also it is too tall IMO. I swapped it out for a high end replacement and my date mag is perfect and it takes effort to rotate it on the watch. If it's spinning around freely or it takes very slight touch to rotate the crystal it needs a tighter gasket
  4. If your conus send it to me I'll replace your gasket and reset your bezel assembly free of charge
  5. On a side note and for those who build up DJ reps. The SA3135 DJ case set is the next best thing to gen. I will do a mini review soon. I am getting a gen 16200 to compare and show you guys. Well worth buying one and parting it out
  6. 16233 its a SA3135 case I bought the watch to rob the movement and now I want to recycle the case with my super franken dj case. This case set is extremely nice and very well shaped and much more desirable for a franken build so thats what I am trying to do.
  7. I have a DJ case meant for a 3135 rolex movement and I also have a franken DJ that I want to rehome all of the guts into this new case. This new case is true 1:1 in every way possible (very simple case really) anyways I pulled the movement and everything else out and the brass ring will not go in to the 3135 case! Do I need a different ring? also I understand some folks use the 2836-2 or the 2824 and I have seen both configurations work out before. What is the best way to go about mounting the movement to the 3135 case? thanks!
  8. Wow that is an amazing watch for sure. Congrats
  9. Which dealer did you buy from so I know not to get watches from them!
  10. Totally fake!! They want your watch and money. Scare tactic. I've gotten those letters even when I've posted gen watches on Craigslist or eBay.
  11. What I can't believe more than the aesthetics is the weight. They both are identical to the T on weight not one digit off!
  12. What you need is a 93250 for a SEL bracelet. Your sub should be a no holes case in which in that case SEL 93250 with correct 93250 clasp.
  13. Looks good! I would prefer a Pepsi or coke but other then that I like it
  14. Hey guys, as some of you know I have had my fair share of super reps and super builds but recently I randomly wanted an LV really bad cause the whole maxi dial and green insert just pop out to me for what ever reason. Anyways dcparks87 posted an LV and knowing him personally I decided id bite. Watch came with no insert, washer, or click spring so I went to SMEA in Dallas and picked up generic Rolex replacement parts and here she is! I have never seen such quality out of the box in person. Perfect SEL, dial print unbelievable and get this. Weighed it and then weighed a gen and both came out exactly 89.1 penny weights! Unbelievable. Anyways here some fun pics. I already did some light mods -best LV rep insert I could find in town -brand new washer -brand new click spring modded for correct tension (feels very gen like now) -corrected the gasket to a true 2.7mm (stock one was too tall and caused date mag issue) -gen 2824 h4 Off to the pics! 15. Your welcome! Glad to hear your going to complete your watch!
  16. I just wait till one pops up in the sales section and if I have to pay a little more but I get it in. 3 days so not a bad turn around (actually I bought one yesterday locally so it worked out!)
  17. I am very pleased guys with the new SD as I know its not a 16600 but hey if you like the new rolex ceramic line up this watch is a must have and yes WAY better then a DSSD which no one in the world will ever need the depth rating and if your that deep your dead or in a submarine lol
  18. They are pretty good. The numbers come very crisp and engraved deep. Just swap the pearl out if you want to for a N-factory or BP pearl
  19. We are discussing a brand new model that was just released. I agree they will not go the extra mile on repping the old discontinued 16600 but I do believe we will see a noob "v3" version of this new ceramic 116600 SSD.
  20. I could daily wear this watch. So the dial appears to be matte and correct me if I'm wrong but are the crown guards smaller on this case then on the sub? How quickly do the rep factories rep brand new watches?
  21. The new Baselworld 2014 revealed the ceramic sea-dweller 4000ft! What's your opinion on this watch? I'm excited to see how the rep factories are going to do. http://m.rolex.com/watches/baselworld-2014/new-rolex-sea-dweller-4000.html
  22. I would say the sub is pretty bad but again maybe that's as good as they were 20 years ago. I actually still wear my very first rep. Of course it's been heavily modded
