Ya exactly seeing how I am swapping everything off the TW case over to a TC case. It will probably fit the tc case the best

I wouldn't say it's a "no no" per say. I'd say its preference and the later sub models had more pointed 4s then flat 4s atleast I think. Plus no one really knows the difference on the inserts anyways as far as people you may be around goes.

Heres a good recipe I followed by what other members have done and told me to create a really good sub. If you already have a TW then gen insert with luminous pearl and pointy 4, gen crystal with coronet (mine is service) gen 703 crown and tube, and I would change the click spring for a clarks and maybe ad a better spacer to slightly tighten it up. I am working on getting a genuine bezel for my sub then swapping everything over to a TC case (My final goal for this project is either gen 3135 or SA3135 which a TW wont house)

I've found them the trick is not to physically look for just a pearl you have to pull one off a trashed insert. Trust me if you ask someone who on eBay has inserts ask them if they have ones that are no good. I've gotten a few for 10 bucks

My noob has TW end pieces so is the fit on the SEL improved or more of the same? Should I just wait for the v3 bracelet with perfect end links?

The crystal was 250 brand new and it's a service crystal the insert was 200 but I over paid for that and had to relume the pearl then ended up getting a whole new insert with pointy four and stock SL pearl. Pm me as I do have an extra insert with out a pearl. (gen pearls can be found fairly easy)

Mine has a coronet with a little S in the base of the coronet for "service" and it's amazing how much smaller and harder it is to find on a gen xstal vs a rep which often are to large and to "loud" the crystal IMHO Is the biggest improvement you can make to any rep sub that will accept it. Pics do not do this watch justice at all.

So I just got back my TW and thought I'd show the amazing potential this watch has for anyone out there looking to go GEN PARTS on this bad boy. First thing that struck me was just how amazing a genuine crystal actually looks on this watch, just absolutely amazing not to mention perfect date mag and super clear! Also the pearl issue is fixed because the gen insert just matches in perfect harmony with the crystal. I strongly recommend anyone who has a TW that is thinking of putting parts on it to DO IT! its superb and you really cant beat the quality genuine parts bring to the watch. Tested the WR in the shower which it passed with flying colors! anyways i'll let a few pics do the rest of the work here!!

So search function is not working for some reason on my computer so I thought i'd ask how the 93250 bracelet from TC compares to a noob. I am possibly thinking of buying a bracelet from him and wanted some expert opinions on how the SEL's are compared to the TWs and the quality of the finish and stampings? I currently have a Noob bracelet with TW SELs along with the TW buckle and clasp. I am really looking to possibly upgrading the bracelet if its possible.

I'd be to skeptical about that personally..I'd have to handle authenticate and all that before i go sending digits into the unknown

Not sure about a steady "cheapest place" kind of thing but I would watch Craigslist and pawn shops for really good deals I'm in north Texas and I have my eyes on 2 subs maybe I can help you out. PM me and who knows maybe I'll source and you pay

Wow a lot of info here. This is a great read seeing how I may swap out my case for a TC. Really want to drop a gen dial hands and 3135 one day and sadly TW won't accept

I agree with correctime the tc sub is a whole new animal that really seems to take wm9s thunder away and it's really cool how it takes a gen movement with out needing to be modded! I may swap all of my TW parts over to a tc sub case and put a 3135 in it

Ya but a Sean case is just to much IMHO but who knows we will see

Interesting thanks for the advice! I am not sure what I am going to do with the watch I have that has the 3135. Honestly I had the idea of removing the 3135 and making a super franken two tone datejust that would have ALL GEN parts minus ETA and hands

Well if you have a holes case then SEL will not be accurate

Possibly considering building a Sean case sub with genuine 3135 (got one lying around). Just curious to know what's all in it. I would probably scrap my super Franken sub for all of its gen parts or make a 16613 but not sure if it's all that cost affective? If I don't make the watch then I'll post the movement or it's donor here on rwg at a very special rwg price (public will have to pay more ) let me know!
