Thanks for taking the time Stormy- Cool watch and nice review! Ciao, Arty

I've had this one on for a few days- think I'll wear it the whole weekend. Had it for about seven years and it's still ticking, and turning heads. Not for everyone I suppose... Cheers! Arty

Haven't worn this for quite some time- good time-keeper, and all around fun watch to wear:

Less than one week for me; in the U.S. Remember though, dealers are just returning frpom Chinese New Year- you might have to add a few days to your expected delivery time. Post some pics when she arrives! Ciao, Arty

I wasn't aware that this watch was 'plated' with ceramic, I thought it was solid. If this was your perception too- contact your dealer and express your disappointment, and he may just have you paypal him 30 USD for a replacement (happened to me twice under similar circumstances). Otherwise, and this is just an unproven idea- buy some JB Weld, form it to the chip quickly and shape it flush, let dry and wet-sand if necessary, then paint chip with ceramic white appliance touch-up paint. Here is a dealer who has one similar for $77 shipped (on the slow boat), maybe that would be easier.

It's not ceramic, but it looks like it. Description says 'quartz' but my wife's sweeps smooth...
Good luck, Arty

Here are a few of my vintage Subs...
And here's my Gen vintage Tudor:

IMHO, you're still going to end up with a rep. I am completley happy with my 'noobies corner' Yachtie:
97 bucks if I remember correctly, and built like a ton of bricks.
Good luck, Arty

Great reps / photos KKD! I am wondering now- since you've accumulated so many gems in such a short time; how do you explain your watches to your co-workers, friends, family etc? I am in a similar situation so I just want to know your tactic. Any words of wisdom to offer? Thanks in advance, Arty

Very classy looking watch.
Thanks Raijor! Happy weekend, Arty

That's my 2nd favorite watch of all time. Here's my 1st favorite:
Congrats; and hang on to that one if need be, for part of your retirement funds. Arty
Well, I'll be enjoying the Monte Carlo for a few more days -
I'm back to this one now for a while:
Happy long weekend! Arty

A waterproof 'Gen' for the next few days since Central Florida is calling for much needed rain; and I work outdoors:

I'll stick with this one for the upcoming week- worn it 99.9% of the time since X-mas. My wife is elated that I'm done ordering for the time being!
Best to all, Arty

Whoops; too expensive for my rep pocket book and remember- it's still plated gold. I'll wait for Freddy, Bytor, or VB to give the thumbs up before I order from this dealer. Best to all, Arty

Excellent work and tutorial, Rod! Thanks for sharing, Arty

In honor of the annual snow shovel riding competition in Ambridge, PA, I decided to wear something different today
Freddy, you inspired me to wear mine for the weekend- but I will not be shovel riding- I'll be out on the boat, and applying sunscreen. Have fun! Cheers, Arty

DD13- Smart choice. Best to you my friend, Arty

I remember seeing many of these exact photos from a dealer who got shut down on ioffer- he was from Gangzhou, CN- about two years ago before I discovered these forums. These prices seem way inflated though; and the Vintage Daytona photos are all over the place showing models from many different suppliers. You order first, and let us know how it goes! My honest advice: use Ruby (who previously used many of those exact photos too), or Silix, and you will probably end up with the same watch for much less. Good luck, Arty

If this ever happened to me, I would just switch over to my Vintage Rollies. Here are just a few:
Good luck, Arty

An ADT yard sign is a big deterrent even if you don't have the system installed. You can buy them on EBay for about $20 bucks. It is VERY rare that a home with a security system gets broken into on a block where not all houses have them. Displaying the sign in front of your house will make would be burglars move on to the next house.
Chief- I am thinking you are right on the money! I've considered this before but always been weary that the 'ADT police' are patrolling neighborhoods and confiscating such false advertisements. I will re-consider. Thanks Pal, Arty

Dogs are probably the best deterrent. Who wants to get bit on the ass? They have to be inside the house, though. Alarms are deterrents as well but the thief knows they will have a few minutes before anyone pays it any attention, in most neighborhoods. If you get an alarm make sure it has a bell on the outside of the house. Ours doesn't and you can't hear the alarm going off if you're standing on the sidewalk in front of the house.
Doc- we've got the dog issue covered- but my 'arsenal' includes a Pembroke Welsh Corgi- the fiercest of the bunch, honestly, and two Foxhound Terriers both of whom would probably sniff and lick the would-be criminal to death. We are considering the alarm and I'll make sure to get a loud one per your advice- thanks. Arty
