  1. LOL! The young 'uns have no idea what Fraggle Rock is :)

I assume that the Fraggle in your nick refers to that adorable community of muppets in Jim Henson's creation.. that always amused me secretly.

I loved that series, and watched almost every episode... many of them the whole way through.

And I'm sorry to hijack the thread. Its just that Fraggle Rock rocks.  :1a:

  2. less than 9hrs before this awesomely discounted (In terms of both price and quality) gets sold.

    $5,100

I hope eBay can get off its lazy ass and do pull the plug before someone gets conned.

  3. Recoup, I'm not saying you haven't sent it, I'm not saying you have, I've got no way of knowing.

All I have to go on is words written in a forum by a stranger who shares a fellow addiction to watches. Ditto for the seller, although as they've been a member for 5 years we can read the posts from the past that they've made.

That's all anyone has to go on (unless they've been to a GTG) and its not much to go on is it? I'm not trying to take sides or anything, just saying that I can see why the seller maybe panicked. And I can see why you're worried now!

Hopefully the seller will get in touch with you and it'll be resolved.

I think this thread needs to be defused

  4. Actually, like a lot of details in the rep hobby, the concept of "superlume" is rather subjective.

My personal understanding is that a superlumed watch is one that "provides a bright glowing luminosity on the markers and hands after about a minute of charging in sunlight or other types of bright lights, for a sustained period".

Notice that my statement itself is subjective. What is bright to me may be a little too dim for you. What is a sustained period for me may be too short for you. Another good way of defining a superlume is to compare the lume of the watch to that of its genuine counterpart. Honestly, I have seen some relumed reps that display brighter and better lumes compared to their genuine counterparts.

Having said all that, the lume has been something nice to look at for me, but not essential. If I ever wanted to know the time in pitch black, I just press a button on my iphone. Like the chronograph function on a watch, a "superlume" is generally nice to have, but mostly non-essential, unless you wear the watch for diving to deep depths consistently, or you work in a cave as a bat keeper. Or something along those lines.

  5. Flex has the watch listed for sale, as you already pointed out.

Your $500 deposit should be refunded to you without question.

Also, regarding the $1000, I understand you already cancelled the transfer.

There is no reason to wait more than 7 working days for the money to be in your account again.

The bank would be able to tell you if the money has been received by the beneficiary. Its a fairly straightforward process.

You should check if the money has been transferred and received despite your cancellation.

  6. Guys,

I have reported the item but it is still listed there.

    Please report it.

We may end up helping idiots but lets use our knowledge for the greater good.

Unbelievable that people actually fall for his crap. :fool:  :fool:

  7. I visited a similar website that claims that they use actual clones of the movement, and every part etc etc..

Uses pictures of genuine watches on their site too. And a whole lot of other BS claims.

Their prices are perhaps 3-4x that of a good rep.

I tried to access swiss.cc but the site seems to be taken off or is down.

Stay away from the scammers. One golden rule of the game: "If it sounds too good to be true, someone is gonna get fucked."

  8. I like the P3-1 and P3-2 guys.. Aaron at combat straps custom make straps for them..

I agree with cc33, wrist presence could be a problem for this watch somehow. They are all 47mm but wears closer to 44mm due to the absence of lugs.

It would be like wearing a mini machine on your wrist I suppose given the layered complication of the dial.

    Tempted.

  9. http://www.sevenfriday.com

Anyone heard of/owns watches from SevenFriday?

I came across it while shopping for straps at Combat Straps, strangely enough.

The watches all appear to be variations of the same case, and quite cool and unique looking. the movement used seems to be a Miyota automatic, and the business/website seems to be based in Switzerland. Price is between 900+ - 1000+ CHF (swiss francs).

I personally like the black one with red accents..

    Your thoughts on it?

  10. It was originally listed as Pre-Order ...PO price was $298...after PO it will be $318..

The reason it got listed first as pre-order and now as Pre-view is because the maker couldnt confirm release date...however that should be confirmed by 15th

    :)

Plus remember that there are discount and reduced price watches and ladies designer scarves available on orders for Xmas...

Thanks Pete, good to have an idea of price. :)

  11. Yes even with the yellow. Its a nice contrast to the black forged carbon. However, I don't mind yellow.

I have been looking at the V2 orange ceramic for a while now.. the color appeals to me much more but you were telling me about the DLC/ceramic discrepancy.

I guess I'll wait for the ceramic (v3?) orange one. ;)
