So here is a question for you. If you are someone who owns reps and gens - do you feel better about your reps because you own gens?

Owning gens do not make me feel better about owning the reps, and vice versa.I own reps for a variety of reasons, and my experience with them is not dependent on the gens I own actually.I enjoy both worlds in different ways, and I do not proclaim judgement on rep owners, or gen owners. Its their own business what they choose to wear.Likewise, my choice of watches should be something that is personal.

entirely possible, as each person has a preference over what he finds "too big".. The same watch would look different on different wrists..

It all depends on what your own preference is mate. I saw the picture of the panerai on your wrist, looks good to me. The diver would look about the same size on your wrist.

Another related fact: you might find it difficult to purchase a diver V3 now.. it seems to be out of stock everywhere!

Hey M, as stated, you would be able to take the diver on your wrist if you can take the panerai..

I think this topic has been discussed and debated to death and at the end of the day, the gen wearers will still wear their gens, and the rep wearers their reps. So as I mentioned, to each his own, and lets judge ourselves if there needs to be any judging at all.

Thanks guys in regards to the plating. Its good to know it will hold up. As far as the internals and other moving parts how is the quality? If any thing were to break can it be fixed easily? Or is it a huge hassle sourcing parts?

Whether RG or SS, the internal parts are the same. Quality is decent but for A7750 sec@12, it is good if you can get the watch serviced.

I guess there like a train wreck.....can't look away.

the silver themes is also called the panda. White dial with black sub dial and red hands.

You lost me on this one. The date cyclops is mounted on the movement and pokes through the dial. The crystal has no cyclops.

The answer is a definitive sort-of. It takes some bezel rework. The gen crystal is a good 1mm higher and it is also shaped slightly different using two contact points and two gaskets. The height implies that you either modify the inner bezel or the crystal sits somewhat higher than in the gen. I believe I have a post somewhere here comparing the two. So it is not impossible but not plug and play either.

what about the position of the date cyclops? I actually told OP in a PM that the data cyclops on the gen crystal would not fit directly over the rep date wheel.. Was I incorrect? Or is there no cyclops? I have NEVER seen a loose gen ROO crystal and I am curious.

Is the color of the gold fairly close? In truth the weight differential has always scared me away. Some people have tried to increase the weight by making movement rings out of heavier materials and at some point people have elected to start with heavier metals for the base case and then plate that.

The color of the gold is close enough to satisfy visual inspection W... but you're right, the weight diff is to me an obvious tell.

But then again, when I have a RG ROO Rep on my wrist, it stays on my wrist!!

Thanks for your help. I was hoping to learn more about the model I am looking at, but I do not trust the seller. Like you mentioned, the pics could be gen, but the delivery could be altogether another kettle of fish.

Hey mate, from forums, ebay, and of cos personal contacts.. for this watch,I bought it complete off a member here. I understand that the parts for AP frankens are becoming increasingly scarce due to AP pulling the plug on the supply.. so you really need to keep your eyes peeled if you are thinking of going down this arduous road..it will be a tough on trust me.

looks good to me. but as usual you should always buy the seller before the item mentioned. I'd say go to a more credible seller or check TRF and message anyone there that sells a lot of rolex's maybe one of them can access a milgauss at a great price.
