Because someone likes wearing nice watches, you think they should start their own watch brand??
I want to wear a nice watch, it doesn't have to be my own brandname
Who is to say that they are fooling themself?? I'm sure everyone knows that they're wearing reps rather than gens, so unless they are really lying to themselves and have somehow fooled themselves into believing that it's a gen, no one is fooling themself at all
What are you saying is 'undeserved value'? If a woman buys her husband a rep as a birthday present, are you saying the watch has no value? In terms of cash value, then of course it's not going to be 'worth' as much as its gen counterpart, but in terms of sentimental value, it would be priceless...
+1 on your statement on rep watch value. I agree totally. The value of each individual watch, be it gen or rep, to its owner, is something that others should not judge.

I have the Marlin22 souped up Noob Fiddy.
Just two words: "A Keeper"
Not easy to call it out as a rep. The factory strap...is an entirely different story though. You have to get that changed, or it will be like putting on cheap sneakers with an Armani suit.

If he bothered to reply twice, he would most likely reply again.. give him a little time.
Could be a personal hold-up.
I do not know the site, but hope it turns out good for you!

I have always been a fan of watches with nice steel casings, and a prime example of this is the AP ROO.
Steel has a very dependable and durable feel, and is meant for everyday wear. I like the comfort of the weight on my wrist too.

I am sure the admin team would come out with something good.

very beautiful photography of Balboa Park! I certainly took my time appreciating that shot.

Guilty as charged.
In which case, I would like to ask.. shaving the caseback for that 1.7mm, a norm for frankens, does it achieve the desired effect for you?

Rep $600 (or whatever current coat is), base level franken starts at $3k, gen at $15k or so......it's all relative. For the non-obsessed that is an expensive 1.7mm.
And I think, W, that you are one of those who "obsess" over that 1.7mm

Sometimes I see those monster 10k ++ posters and I wonder how long I would take to reach even half of their chalk counts..

exists in black, white or silver dial!
Frankly, 1000% better then a basic Lange & Söhne Rep!

I have tried both gen and rep with the same shirt (sorry no pics, as at a gen dealer, wiping out the iPhone for a wrist shot is not appreciated) and the gen fits nicer more elegantly under a shirt and the rep does not, also it is more unstable sloppy on the wrist. And yes the thickness is a tell on the wrist.... 1000x more than silver lines on the numbers or an off-font... so that is why all this dial talk is XXX to me...
Understood, and thanks plenty.

Sorry try here: http://www.rwg.cc/to...plica-pictures/
And at RG look for from member: Loosetime and then: Ultra mods. Ap ROO. Recesed crown+Thin case+ Thin caseback+Gen dial+ 50%Gen mvmnt
Yes I see what you mean now.. compared with a gen side by side, the difference IS obvious. My question is: On the wrist, wouldnt the thickness be somewhat less obvious? I am asking out of curiosity.

Yes see here; the 2nd set of pics. Incl. the crown miss placing... seeing that the dial is the smallest of problems, but good that they fixed it! And talking about SAFARI modding, check this: http://www.repgeek.c...ighlight=safari ... great what some people can do!
Sorry mate, I cannot see the pics, nor could I access the repgeek site lol, despite the fact that I consider myself to be a rep geek
