  1. The point I was trying to make was if they use the name toywatch etc that might be how they get round the branding... I did not mean the watch was for kids :)

Its the loophole I was referring to mate ;)

LOL i couldnt help laughing and liking this post of yours.. it may not mean to be hilarious but somehow it is haha..

  2. My Mum sounds like yours when it comes to watches... also has small wrists so I got her a TAG Link Quartz, MOP dial date etc.... she loves it had it 2 years and she wears it every day still looks great and I have to say the only flaws I could find to the gen was the model number on the caseback and the stamping depth of the TAG emblem on the clasp.. She has had a few 'watch officienados' cast their eye over it and declare it gen !! Best money I ever spent on a watch :) Sorry forgot about the original point ! I think the law is different on copyright if the item is deemed a childs toy in fact there was a lot of laws that could be circumvented through designating an item a childs toy....

Toywatch is not literally a brand of watches for kids.. They're mostly homage watches and I actually find some of the designs pretty cool.. The Richard Mille homages are pretty awesome! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  3. I am thinking of buying the Calibre de Cartier rep, in white face.

Can I have some opinions on the watch, in terms of the replication accuracy and movement quality, please?

I did search the forum and found a review of the watch that someone has bought. I know its not a very expensive rep, but I would like to get more opinions on this one before taking the (little) plunge.

    Thank you for your responses.

  4. I have both the gen and the rep of this watch! Bought the rep for a lark, just out of curiosity.

    I have just two comments:

    1. The rep in this case is, in my opinion, 99% like the real McCoy in terms of visuals. There are slight differences in the 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock rings, and very minor differences in the dials. In my opinion these are hardly noticeable. So wear your reps with assurance!

    2. NOBODY, and I mean not one blessed soul, has, to date, asked me to engage the split second function on even my gen watch (I have worn it maybe 10 times to different events)

Most people you meet, contrary to your internal convictions, have no clue about this watch other than it "looks rugged", and no clue on what a "doppelchronograph" may be. Those that do know, do not need to see it. The gen-snobs you meet might demand you show it to them as a proof of its authencity, but hey, thats when you stare them down for their impudence, until they shrink to an infinitesimal speck of dust in your sight. :D

  5. errrr. check out the placement of the minute hand.

Noticed that, but what really struck me was the position of the crown guard!

The minute hand could get fixed up, but your watch really got me wondering if there is such a model for its gen, equivalent!

I wear my watches on my right wrist you see..
