Alright guys,
New to the rep game, and just about gettin my head in the door of ap! Looking at buying an ap roo secs@12, but was interested in getting a few different straps for it - I've heard good things about ap bands, but they seem quite expensive for just a rubber strap? Are there any other sites that offer similar for a bit less than that?
Cheers
Just curious, which model of ROO are you looking at, and any idea of the strap you want to fit on it?
-
I think the "sharp edges" are a common problem with HBBs. You could try sanding them a bit!
Cheers, Tim
Thanks Tim. Do you mean sanding the "protusions" of the deployant clasp? Do you have any experience with this?
I want to try sanding it down but don't wish to spoil the entire part due to my inexperience.
Thanks!

would a gen dial help in lining up the datewheel with the LWO283 movement?
-
I notice, after some time wearing the rep Hublot Big Bangs, that marks are left on the underside of the wrist, created by the clasp pressing upon the skin.
The watch is not too tight, or too loose, but sometimes, I can feel discomfort wearing the HBB over a prolonged period. Is anyone else having this problem or is it just because I got strange wrists lol. I got pretty small wrists for a guy.
Can someone help with some advice please?
Thank you!

That is a gen. What makes you think it´s a rep?
The pushers look too flat. Besides that, my inexperience, and lack of in depth knowledge? lol
-
Would you consider the RG bezel as well? The RG is super sharp on the cognac hornback strap. See if you can find one to check out in the flesh first.
But the rubberclad, of course, is a matter personal taste and you have to get what YOU like!
Sounds good.. and yes I am willing to consider the RG finish in any form, as long as it appears aesthetically pleasing in the end.
-
Thank you all.. I am looking to buy a gen RG rubberclad and I would keep all your advice in mind!
-
Gen or a very well built franken. Most likely gen
I am new to this, and my question is one of curiosity, not challenge: How could you tell please?
To me, I think the pushers look too flat at the top, and the hands seem to be rep ones. Thank you.

I was looking through the thread started by daytona1984 (yo buddy!) and found another APROO (plenty of them actually) which looks fake to me. The surprising thing is that this seller has over 24000 and 99.8% good feedback. This watch is listed for over 26.000Euros.
Is there any way this could be an authentic watch at all?
-
100% fake.. pushers are too flat, dial is wrong color, dial details are wrong as well
-
I bought one of these off Trusty. After 2 weeks noticed it had stopped running. Pulled the crown out to wind it and then the crown wouldnt screw back in. Any thoughts on issues? Andrew has asked me to send it back which I'll do. Just dissapointed it's seemingly broken already. Also had the same issue as one of the other guys of the top left pusher getting stuck in.
Yes it looks like sending it back is the best you can do under the circumstances. It would be good if you could also get the watch movement serviced while you are at it..

beautiful.. let us know when one of these are for sale!
-
Same serial number as on mine.
lol pardon me, your post made me laugh and my mate thought I had gone crazy
-
Its very beautiful! I have the RG version of the same watch myself.
Can't help but notice, but one of the strap links does not seem to be screwed in fully?
-
Yes, where did you order the parts from please?
-
I'm sorry.. its www.betterthandiamond.com
-
i recommend betterthandiamonds.com, for their ASHA collection, and outstanding service. My sis is a client there.

Thank you very much. Mom was right, I do need that pair of glasses after all.

Hello
I have tried searching for the rules set for high value sales, but cannot seem to find them.
Can someone please help me by telling me where the rules can be found, or tell me how to go about getting "approved" for high value sales please?
Thank you
LK

The APs reps are beautiful watches, concerns with detail accuracy aside.
The more recent sec@12 movements have also been improved somewhat, making them much more reliable.
I think more buyers will be drawn into buying APs as the quality, accuracy and movement evolve.

I'm by no means a noob, I just don't post on this forum all that much.
The point is that the factory making the so-called "V4 diver" has never made an AP rep before. It's not the same factor that has made the first three iterations of this rep. Josh and Andrew have a tendency to mislead customers about the relative quality of N factory watches because they don't have a working relationship with that factory, which is common knowledge. I can't say I blame them, as it's in their interest to do so, but it's not entirely honest behavior so I see no reason not to call them out on it if it's in the best interest of the community.
To that end, they haven't substantiated their rumors of this "much improved V4" since they started spreading them, so at this point it appears to be a less than credible attempt to dissuade people from buying the V3 diver from their competition (noob factory). If the "V4" really is that much better, wonderful. I might consider buying one even. I just think people should know the context of these rumors before they put too much stock in them.
Hello
Yes I guessed as much, that you have your own experience in rep watches, just that you appear to be new on this forum. Also, now that you clarified yourself in a different tone, I would like to thank you for the information rendered, and also a little apology to you if i offended you in any way. It is always good to get new perspective on matters like this. I don't buy from Josh or Andrew, so I would not know their supposed tendencies. I did consider purchasing the V3 from puretime before, due to the fact that my regular dealer did not have it available. She managed to "get" a piece from me, and have told me that the quality would be good compared with the V2.
To be fair, I have probably less experience than you with regards to this watch, and I have nothing to add or take away from your argument. what I know is that visually, and from reviews posted by members who own the V3, it is a reasonable quality rep with minor flaws. I bought it after the research done.
Let's hope I am not wrong about it! lol

Jesus, Josh and Andrew are shameless aren't they? What they meant to say is "I'm not selling this watch because the maker refuses to deal with me." All this talk about the V4's improvements seems a bit hasty to me, as the only source of these rumors is two dealers who don't have a ton of credibility when it comes to anything having to do with the Noob maker.
I'll be thrilled if the V4 really is an improvement, but the AR color and lume strength are the only thing I seem them being likely to succeed in improving, and there's myriad other elements of the watch that they could possibly get wrong on a first try.
A rep will always be a rep.. you may get reps which are closer to the gens for some models, and some disastrously far off. But I have to say that the reps are getting better in general with each new edition released. The AP diver has proved to be a very popular watch and I think its in the interest of the maker to get the details right for the watches that are more sales worthy.
If you are saying that the TDs are saying the AP diver V3 is bad because they cannot get their hands on it, I do not know enough to comment on that. However, I do not think its nice for a newbie to say such a thing on his very first post here. Relax man, we're all here to enjoy a common hobby. Maybe you do have access to certain information on this matter that we don't. But your post is gonna incite the supporters of the TDs mentioned, not mentioning the TDs themselves.

Because non hacking movements are stupid. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk 2
A hacking movement helps us to set time accurately, yes. I wouldnt exactly use the word "stupid" for non-hack movements lol. Saw your post and was surprised into laughing.
Why is it so important to modify it to hack? I'm sure not many people will be unscrewing the crown and changing the time and those that do will most likely be close enough friends to know it's a rep.Its not for friends to see.. its for us to be able to stop the watch completely and set the time accurately.
