  1. I got a nice 130-page Patek catalog by walking into an AD & asking for 1.

    :o

Surprising. They must have pegged you for a successful guy, because Patek dealers are notoriously stingy with this (unless you own one of their watches, of course).

I wonder if the various manufacturers will be suspicious after they are all of a sudden swamped with catalogue requests?? :p

  2. For Patek Philippe you have to kind of play with them a little. I contacted them pretending to be very interested in ordering a grand complication model (yeah right, LOL), asking if there was any way I could jump the queue because most ADs had a 1-2 year waiting list for the 5970R. After a few back and forth I asked them for a catalogue to help me "make up my mind" and they shipped me, via next day courier from Switzerland, their full size complete catalogue that you can't even get at the dealer.

ALSO: I have tried to order a Blancpain catalogue several times, the form has always either failed to go through or I never got a response.

  3. What's the big hype about these Nautilus watches? MBK or not, the datewheel is totally incorrect. The datewheel needs to be a touch larger and set a little more to the right. The font is incorrect, also. Is there a replica watch anywhere with a correct datewheel?

I agree... I gave mine away to a family member because its not a very good replica all things considered. It's a great watch, mind you, just a poor imitation of the genuine.

  4. I remember seeing the images on the television; it feels like yesterday. The sadness that overcame my soul still remains - and will continue to remain - until every last person responsible for this crime is brought to justice. No words can even begin to describe what the victim's families must feel; all that can be done is to pray that an act of such magnitude never occurs again.

  5. You have to be very patient with this hobby. He seems to be a member with a good reputation so I would definitely give him the benefit of the doubt here.

For your own safety, and the safety of this hobby and community, please do not file a PayPal dispute. If worse comes to worse you can always make a separate thread about it.

  6. The Day - Date was the first replica I bought, except mine was the 18K gold plated version. Unfortunately the hands slipped and a lot of the "gold" is starting to fade on the inside of the bracelet but regardless I have been thinking of getting another model, except in stainless steel this time.

It is a beautiful watch for a gentleman like myself, with a comparatively small wrist.

Thanks for the spectacular review... I have to say I am tempted to order one of these from Narikaa now! ;-)

  7. As a fan of Patek Philippe I don't know whether to laugh or cry after looking at these pictures.

What the hell are the makers thinking? They could probably sell a lot more of these if they made them non-branded - who could wear such a failure in public? Obviously the genuine watches are enameled with painstaking detail and this is just... blargh... argh.... horrible junk!!

  8. Ok I don't want to sound establishment like here but it sounds to me like something big is going down ie; police have received inside info on......say.....a soon to be launched bombing attempt.

    Fromt the news story:

    "

Each of the raided houses is known by neighbors as a "hippie house," where 5-10 college-aged individuals live in a communal setting [...] that they were filled with "peaceful kids" who are politically active...."

Absolutely, Kenberg. Unlike what the hippies would have you believe, law enforcement officers don't just raid the houses of people they dislike. These kinds of initiatives require lots of resources, and are based on evidence gathered through painstaking research and investigation conducted by leading experts and professionals.

Keeping families safe from law breakers is the job of the police, and I know what many of these college punks can do to wreak havoc in communities. I can only begin to imagine what kind of terror these ne'er-do-wells were inflicting upon their neighbors, but rest assured it definitely warranted professional intervention.

I also doubt the accuracy of the article. I've never heard of "salon.com" but given that the author was inside one of these houses as the raids occurred seems like a conflict of interest to me in the line of objectivity.

  9. Not sure but I always get compliments when I wear it. I went to an engagement party a few weeks ago and 3 guys other than myself had on a Aquaracer. Two of them are active NFL players. They love theirs and no I didn't fess up. :)

Very true! A few weeks ago I was at a cocktail party and my good friend Frank Sinatra expressed his appreciation for the Aquaracer as well.
