  1. Hockey = best sport in the world.

And the only North American sport (besides basketball) that really matters outside the US/Canada. Say what you want about NHL... but it might be the best and most international sports league in the world.

I was rooting for my fellow Scandos, but congrats to Canada anyway. Well deserved... that semifinal against Russia was a thriller.

  2. I bought surprisingly many watches in 2008.

    My best picks:

    Ebel Discovery

One of the most accurate reps produced. I really like this one... not oversized, clumsy, blocky and ugly like many new watches.

    GMT Master II gen

Always wanted this watch and the reps simply didn't quite "cut" it for me:

    Black Explorer II

This was a must-have buy for me... to complete my Explorer II "collection". Great, accurate and extremely underrated rep.

    Honorable mentions:

    WM9 Submariner v1

The "Super Sub". The only reason I didn't keep this was that I already bought the v2. It's coming from bklm1234 eventually.

    GMT IIc

Great replica, but this watch still haven't quite "grabbed" me... at least not yet. It's just something that all Rollie-fans should have in their collection. It's not $6000 nice, but it's definitely $300 nice. Whoever said this about GMTIIc is right.

  3. Damn it, I really thought I found one too. Anyway, one last question for the GMT/Explorer master. I have looked a Josh's site and Trusty's site and found that the GMT II coke bezel is different from site to site. Besides BK, for price reasons, which one would you choose? Or is the black explorer the king for you.

There's only one 16710 rep that I recommend, and it comes from bklm1234/Eurotimez.

But the "Retro" version from Joshua ain't that bad, either.

My section is full of GMT reviews. I used to own almost every single rep model before I bought the gen. So what's keeping you to read them through? :)

  4. I am looking at the Explorer II black from Josh. Mostly because I can't find a good white one with black hour markings even though Eurotimez is pretty close. My question to you is how does this one from Josh stack up in your book. http://www.jpc8118.com/rlex10005-explorer-...8362-p-421.html

    Thank you for your time.

That is the inferior version. The 6'o'clock hour marker is the easiest "tell". This version has many bad flaws, like datewheel/cyclops positioned too right. Everything was explained in detail... in the initial post of this thread (the review), and also in the other ExpII rep articles I've written.

  5. I hate to bring back an old thred

    Why? :o

I wish more people asked their questions in these threads, instead of sending me PM's. That's exactly what this forum section is all about... it has been very low traffic lately. Feel free to post to ANY of these threads.

This particular review is very old, and the watch reviewed is inferior. See this updated new article about the best black Explorer II.

  6. Is BT on holiday? keyboard broken? :-)))

Sorry guys... been just very busy with work lately. But now I'm back again. :D

Yes, this looks incredible... there's no denying it. The U-shaped crown guards, excellent crispy looking dial, etc.

The seconds marker at '6 is just a dot, and it's too short. But I doubt it's any kind of issue in real life. Noticeable in these huge photos though.

This is Christmas for the Yachtie fans. Yeah, the prices are what they are, but WM9 has brought Sub and YM to a new level.

Looking forward to watcher's review. Beautiful watch.
