  1. Is that using a 2893-2 or a 2836-2?

    Fully working GMT hand?

    2836-2 ETA.

Hmm... not sure what you mean by "fully working" GMT hand as the GMT hand isn't independently settable on the gen. But it's fully functionable and the watch can be used as a GMT watch perfectly.

I once wrote a FAQ of this type of movements. Read the article here. It explains the function.

  2. I came to the rep forums for Rolex... then I got bored of the bad Rollie reps for a long time... now there have been some outstanding Rolex reps for the first time ever... GMTIIc, Explorer II's and the WM9 watches. Naturally I had to get them all, as these are my favorite models.

Let's see group shots of your Rolex collection... I'm sure most of our vet members have quite respectable collections. I wonder if Stephane can fit all his watches in one photo though. :tu:

    I'll start!

    Upper line:

    1. Gen 16710

    2. WM9 Sub v2

    3. GMT IIc WHS ETA

    Lower line:

    4. ExpII bklm1234/Eurotimez black WHS ETA w/ genuine crown

    5. ExpII Franken CHS ETA

    Let's see 'em!

  3. Any dealer rec's?

    Yes.

bklm1234 for all Rolex reps. It's that simple... because unlike most other dealers he actually knows his stuff 100%... and thus only carries the best versions.

I got mine from Eurotimez though. He's another dealer who carries this best version.

  4. There's no rule about this, but I would think it this way:

If the tracking says that the buyers' post office lost the watch, how could you hold the seller accountable?

    No way... it's 100% buyer's problem, imho.

But if it was the post office at the sellers' end, that lost the shipment... and the seller has proof on paper... personally I would refund the buyer fully in this case... but I'd say 50/50 is still fair.

    Just my 2 cents.

  5. Two things that could be better: SELs are too "rounded" and the crystal etching is oversized. But the case and rehaut shape/thickness are amazing. I also like that they upgraded this model with correct looking thin GMT hand. Now it looks like this straight otb.

Dial is excellent, in typical "Noob" fashion.

  6. Very intresting

.....but the MBK YM ? In the pics has a good appareance. Is it really not not good as WM9 ?

No, it's not as good. Not even close.

    Period.

    What's so complicated about this:

WM9 Sub v2 / WM9 Yacht-Master = Superior to anything else in the Rolex rep market, in every possible way.

    Any more questions? : :p

  7. It's the fundamental problem with the MBK case... the cg's are too "curved down" and bulky. The outsides need to be shapen and filed as well, to achieve that "spiky" gen look.

Gen cg's look like "chops" on the vintage Dwellers & Subs... the cg "tops" aren't as rounded.

Check this old post by Sherrington. I think he pretty much nailed the correct cg shape.

Other than that... your watch looks great! :tu:

  8. Ive never had a moon phase (surprise surprise!) and I assumed the hand would rotate from one end of the phase to the other; 180 degrees or thereabouts and back again. If I understand correctly, the movement's wandering hand at 6 would be ok in this situation. What do you think By as you know the movement?

Yeah it's probably ok. Who really figures out those Moonbase watches anyway?

Not me... I never really studied it. I guess it's good for the loons though... to avoid going outside during the full moon. :D
