  1. If you want an advice, don't bother with the mods. The watch looks fundamentally wrong, and you can't change those problems (too thin case, wrong HE valve, bad crystal, etc).

SSD has those problems fixed, but the crystal/rehaut combo is absolutely laughable. Stay away, it's not a great rep (imho).

  2. Well... whatever is MBW. This rep model was sold by Maria at some point (back in 2005 or so). Maria used to sell most TW Best Rolexes. They were exactly the same watches as from the other dealers, they only had a different seller.

"MBW" always attracts the newbies, and it's very vague term which people use rather loosely.

This is nice but highly inaccurate rep (as someone already stated earlier). "MBW" doesn't automatically mean the rep is good or accurate. Maria has sold many absolute garbage rep models.

I remember this sales thread. It's possible that it has been originally purchased from Maria.

You probably paid too much, but there was nothing wrong with the sale itself.

  3. Nice work BT, but if you wanna do a catalogue shot for Breitling you should set the time to 10:09 and the date to the 12th :D

    Good to know. :D

Generally, I think setting 9:10 is much better way to show the whole dial in many watches (prevent it from blocking anything). Especially Rolexes.

  4. I have the "blue rotor" version of the Asian YM, and someone said that this movement is supposed to be 28.800 bph. Well, it's not as smooth as the ETA, that's for sure. It might be better than the traditional low beat Asian. I dunno, I don't have one to compare right now.

This exact same model is definitely available with ETA as well. I know bklm1234 (a RepGeek dealer) sells it. Maybe TTK too... not sure.

Either way, this is pretty amazing rep. My Asian version is probably my best "bargain buy" ever.

  5. It's a piece of cake to "fake" or exaggerate a lume shot. I once did this photo using 2 layers in Photoshop. Took me about 15 minutes. The lume on the photo isn't fake (it can be faked very easily though) but adding a bit of contrast here and there makes a lot of difference.

This watch had aftermarket hands and pearl. The default Noobmariner lume on those areas is crap.

  6. Thanks a lot fellas. Appreciate the comments and ratings.

This watch is difficult to capture in photos, it took me a while too. I've been trying to tell people how accurate the "Noob YM" is, but I guess they haven't really comprehend it yet.

The only meaningful differences to the gen are the cg shape (difficult to detect) and bigger crown. I dunno how much thinner the gen case is, but I doubt it's anything noticeable. I have to go to the local AD one of these days and check it out.

Actually, I got my YM for less than $100 because it had a loose rotor, which I had to fix myself. Not a bad deal, eh? :)
