  1. I didn't realize all those problem with new subforum BT, but i just thought it could be great please for all those Vintage fans

I think it's a great idea (in principle), but for practical reasons... definitely not. Another problem with subforums like this is that they eventually become virtual graveyards after the first two, three weeks of enthusiasm boost is over.

Personally, I don't understand why do we need a separate forum section to post and enjoy our vintages. I once posted a thread like THIS, and it became quite popular. Feel free to bump it... or make a new one. :)

  2. NO!!!

Why create another duplicate section, just to make searching the information more difficult again? Personally, I'm strongly against splitting the brands to yet another subforum... now that we finally have everything in perfect order.

"Vintage forum" makes absolutely no sense to me. What would that forum have? Pics of MBW Rolexes and "vintage" PAM's, 90%... and some gens that a few members own? Why couldn't people post these to Rolex and Panerai forums (like now) is beyond me... "vintage forum" would be just a duplicate area, just like "Eyecandy".

Believe me, it's real pain to search information from the forums like RWI, where 1/3 of the Rolex posts go to "Eyecandy", 1/3 go to "Rolex Area"... and then we still have people who post this stuff to "General Discussion".

Subforum layout should be kept as simple as possible. We already have too many sections, imho... and creating more and more confusing subforums will just end up in a horrible mess. Instead of creating more subforums we should think how we could get our layout even simpler and more user/search friendly.

PS: There are thousands of vintage Rolex & PAM posts in the archives... placed in the correct Rolex & PAM subforums. You think all those should be moved again to "vintage room"? The hell freezes over before someone of the admin team accepts the job. It'd take MONTHS.

    Two clich

  3. How about having a Omega Eyecandy thread? Some watch porn is always fun.

Sorry... I don't have any new photos. I'm just a lazy & boring chap again... and recycle my old.

Omega SMP "James Bond" ETA, old model with bracelet pins77a.jpg

Bought 2005 June from Davey in the old RWG. Still rocks, and gets regular wrist time whenever I'm bored of all my other watches.

    Omega SMP Chronograph Asian 7750

Amazing rep. My version even has the correct ETA datefont.

Omega "UPO" Planet Ocean 45mm ETA

Well this rep you all know. I still haven't purchased the rubber strap for this one... but I should.

    Omega Broad Arrow Seagull ST-19

Rare old version. Sold this once, but rebought it. :)

Omega Seamaster GMT Black Asian 21J

Great rep for the money. Already departed though.

Omega Planet Ocean 4th Gen ETA

I'd still have this nice rep if it just had a decent bracelet. I liked the smaller size (42mm) a lot.

    Reduced Speedmaster Seagull ST-19 comp_ending.jpg

I only owned this for a week or so. It was too small on my wrist, but I liked it a lot.

    Let's see yours!

  4. With crown & pearl exchange Noob is nearly perfect. It has the best front rehaut thickness of any Submariner reps out there...and it's the only 16610 rep which is difficult to spot as a rep from the front view (if you change the pearl & crown). I think the rehaut thickness issue is way more important than the actual depth. MBW and TW models have the same thickness, but they simply look wrong.

Here's a GMT reference pic but you get the idea.

    3d_3.jpg

Then look at the Noob factory GMT rep on the left. Perfect thickness.

    9.jpg

Then look at Ubi's 16610 franken. As brilliant as it is, the TW case & crystal are immediately spottable as a rep. The front rehaut looks wrong.

Noobmariner from the front view. Virtually perfect.

  5. Brilliant. Thanks for bringing this review here my friend. This version is YM looks so good... I'm not a fan of this watch but the rep really is quite amazing. I agree, the "Noob" factory really makes the best Rollies.

Now it's easy to point new members to this thread when they're asking YM questions. It's weird... nobody has ever done a proper review of this watch before (not that I remember anyway). This is excellent stuff.
