  1. I've been rather lazy to shoot new pics but I promise to take some later... GMT's and Explorer II's are my favorite Rolexes. There's something cool about that 24h hand. Never get tired of seeing pics of them. :tu:

By the way I'm absolutely lovin' my new black ExpII. What a cool watch and such an awesome replication!!!

    Let's see 'em!!!

  2. All excellent photos, but Maximillian's Ingy is just amazing. I thought long and hard between that one, Pix's pocket watch and Earlgrey's PAM photo (both are fine pics and very artistic)... but Max's photo is technically superior (from a watch photographer's point of view). Bringing up the dial in that detail, and simultaneously showing the detail of the bracelet satin finish isn't easy. And if the theme was "autumn" how can you top that one?

It's one of those "lucky" shots that we all photo geeks get occasionally. :)

  3. France 1998 team was outstanding. I think Zidane's effort in the 2006 World Cup was even more impressive. He was clearly the best player of the tournament. He was "majestic" out there.

As a team France 2006 reminded me a lot of Bilardo's Argentina 1990. One star player orchestrating everything (Zidane/Maradona), 1 striker (Henry/Caniggia), and the rest of the team was all turtle defense. Not very entertaining to watch, but this kind of tactics has been successful in short cup tournaments (see Greece 2004 European Championships). Italy's tactics in 2006 wasn't all that different, either.

It's not good for football, but that's how it is these days.

  4. I also agree that Zidane was better and more complete player than Platini. Though I wonder how much more impressive Platini's legacy in people's mind would be, if they won the 1982 penalty shootout against West Germany.

One of the best matches ever by the way. And it proves that anyone who's surname is Schumacher is an asshat. That surname also guarantees that you can get away from any kind of cheat without punishment.

  5. It's already obvious that this is superior to the new SeaDweller release in almost every possible way. The most important thing... thing that's impossible to modify: case/rehaut/crystal combo, has been replicated extremely well. Actually this is the first time we see a decent 16610 case.

Both Noobmariner and MBW/TW Best cases were quite good, but not as good as this. This is kinda the "best of both worlds"... Nooby's perfect rehaut thickness and look, and TW's (improved) depth.

  6. Like my initial impression... I think it looks great. Not 1:1, but definitely the best out there so far.

And there's absolutely nothing wrong with the front rehaut thickness, as it's not as thick on 16610 as on SeaDweller. The rehaut profile looks superb, which alone places this above anything previously available. The bezel teeth not quite as sharp (maybe), pearl is absolute shite, and the SELs aren't properly "recessed", but those are minor problems really.

    Here's a quick comparison:

    Thanks Watcher!!!

  7. The 4th Gen is still the best 42mm version. Great rep, but crappy bracelet & clasp.

Here's mine (already traded long time ago).

PS: That sd4k's version looks fantastic. I tried a rep rubber strap for mine, but it didn't fit. That was the main reason I sold it. The 42mm version is much nicer than the clumsy 45mm, imho.
