  1. Common problem, the gear that engages the datewheel is not engaging...movement needs to be taken apart to fix it.

Sometimes pulling the crown in and out a few times will engage it.

Thanks, The Zigmeister! Tried that, didn't work. Will work with dealer hopefully for a replacement!

  2. I have a PAM064 with Asian 7750, 28800BPH. Haven't used it for a month, so today I took it out to wear, wound it and tried to set to todays date, but the date wheel does not move or engage. Any idea what could be wrong. I tried to adjust it at 3:00, 3:30, 4:00 and 4:30, but nothing seems to work.

    Thanks for any info!!!

  3. Well, finally received mine from Joshua today........and no surprise here....., I might as well qoute your 1st post verbatim! Exactly same problems! I suspect all these Costeau came from the same plant!

Well - It has arrived! Angus's service was world class - he said he was going to send on Tuesday and it arrived here in UK on Wednesday! Can't beat that! But can you beat the product?

When I opened my EL 3717 I was blown away and despite a slipping day wheel (which hopefully The Zigmeister will sort) I have loved it from that moment to this. It was love at first sight. I was hoping for the same from the Cousteau..............and my bubble has been burst! :wounded1:

It's late here so I'm not posting pics but will in the morning, but here's my first impressions.

1 Dirty crystal. I thought at first it was a mark left by the protective film but no - it is a large amount of dirt inside the crystal - a problem I've never seen with any (certainly not "super") rep. It is particularly bad as it is silhouetted against the white hour marker - it needs dismantled and cleaned. Annoying especially as PT sent some back to factory for poor QC - seems this one slipped throught the net.

2 ARGH - squint markers! As per every photo we've seen in the run up to release, the 3 marker and the 12 markers are not aligned properly - surely this should be spot on?! 3 in particular is noticeable.

3 Positioning of hour numbers on the outer bezel - too far out - noticeably so IMO.

4 Day and date alignment - a known problem of course, but this is certainly worse than my 3717 - on it it is only the day that is out of whack. Here it is day AND date. As per my 3717, hopefully The Zigmeister can sort it but out of the box it is poor.

    Not all bad news though.

1 The overall impression is good. Very solid.

2 Good colours/fonts on the dial.

    3 Strap spot on.

    4 AR seems good

5 Lume seems OK (but certainly not Super Lume territory)

6 Movement seems smooth for winding and runs well (for the last hour anyway!!)

In summary, I'm a little disappointed. :cryss: I think by the time it has been to The Zigmeister and back, it will be spectacular, but out of the box, I'm not blown away as I was with the 3717.

For comparison, I've also got one coming from TT Andy - we'll see if he's got a better batch.

That's all for now - I'll try to get some good macros up in the next 24 hours. :cc_detective:

    Hilts :play_ball:

  4. Need an American member to help me out

Laptops are way cheaper in the states that Australia. but most sellers on ebay wont ship overseas.

anyone that can help me out please PM me asap

    Thanks

Go with Dell.....and chk there web site often....they have sales going on every week....there Inspiron 1501/1505 were on sale last week for US$799 wt 120Gig HD and 1 Gig RAM...got one for my brother and my friend, each......and stay away from Vista?

  5. Great review, i want to order one from Agnus..........but they are out of stock for 1 week

Email Joshua, I ordered one from him last week, Thurs. It should be here tomorrow (US of A). A Chanel J12 and VC came in today, ordered at the same time.

  6. Corgi! Good decision! I own the Gen (Blue TT) and I used to wear it all year round even going to bed. Never left my wrist for 2 years until I got my Breitling Titanium Aerospace. Beat the crap out of that watch (the Sub, I mean). And then I discovered REPS.....now those Gen watches haven't seen the light of day for awhile now. Just ordered the Rolex TT Black GMT Master II and White Explorer II from Joshua with the IWC Costeau, so now I don't think my Gen babies well ever come out of hibernation. Please let us know how your TT Sub is holding up. Who did you buy it from. Did you have it serviced and waterproofed? Just curious 'cause I ordered mine waterproofed! Good luck and wear it well.

Can you please point me in the direction of one of these cloths? Perhaps an ebay link so I know what you're referring to?

As a gold lover, this seems like a very important thing to own....

Also, I've made my decision... the TT it is! I've just come to realize it looks better... I'll get it when the snow melts away. This is a watch that's meant to be worn with short sleeves.

  7. Thanks for the warm welcome guys.....I can't wait for them to come in. I'm already looking at OTHER watches. omg I need to stop. I was looking at the Om*ga PO from TT/Andrew (4thgen, $228) It's a very nice looking watch. I also was looking at a Br*itling from TT as well, not sure what model thou. I really just like watches that LOOK fancy.

I hope I can restrain myself and keep it to 1 watch every couple of months. lol

I ordered the same from Joshua.....maybe we could compare the two sometime? Same exact model Explorer II, but LV Submariner!

  8. I am going to have to wait for a review before purchasing because of the higher price. Every picture that I see of the watch looks to have misaligned markers, and I want to see if that is the case. Even the stock picture on p-clones.com looks to have the 2 & 3 o'clock markers misaligned. Also, it will be interesting to see how waterproof the watch is.
Waterproofing should be included with the price they're selling it for. That would also make sense since it a Diver's Watch! Then I'll jump on line to get it!!! If they could waterproof the Breitling

Super Ocean Steelfish to 1000m, they could do the same on this model.....and I really wish they would!!!

  9. Thanks for your appreciation!

The watch that you are considering is exactly the same that I started with/from (I got it from another dealer, but I am positive they are the same).

It is quite expensive, but if you really are into it then go for it. I've heard it's out of production and these are just a few pieces left (as long as they last).

According to The Zigmeister, the 2892/2893 is the best movement you can get.

And according with my local watchsmith, the 2892-A2 mounted on my model is a real and genuine ETA, not a bastardized one or a one that has been assembled somewhere from surplus parts.

Chances are that all the movements on these models are that same quality.

It is precise and runs exceptionally smoothly and silently.

Compared with the Asian 21J with PR module added, I have to say it is just a little harder to wind with the usual wrist movement. Any 2-3 days I have to shake it manually a couple of minutes in order to bring it back to full charge. Most likely, if you are a little less sedentary than me, you won't even need to do that.

You also get an engraved rotor almost extactly like the genuine. The only difference is in a very small engravings that reads "officne panerai" instead of "officine panerai". So, should anyone even open the caseback and inspect the movement, odds are that you won't get called out.

The PVD coating is fake PVD, but it makes the surface harder to scratch anyway with respect to the normal stainless steel. If I was less picky than what I actually am, I would be rather unsure if it's worth the hassle to cover it with genuine PVD.

Relume is needed. Besides of making it more genuine and useful, on a Big Bad Black Boy like that watch a relume adds 100% to its look.

Date font and cyclops are a matter of personal taste. Personally I am an enthusiast at designing and manually making cyclopses, so it was more of an exciting challenge than a hassle. I have to say that, to me, a proper cyclops and date font add another 100% to this watch, but my opinion is biased. You might be satisfied with the out-of-the-box ones.

The crown was a problem to me. As you read, I found a temporary solution. But as long as palpatine is MIA, you'd better get this watch only as long as you can live with a thinner-than-gen crown.

Thanks a whole lot Surf!!! I appreciated very much the input.....I'm probably anal, too with getting close to the Gen as you are, but unfortunately don't have your skill....the one thing that turns me off in opening watches is losing the waterproofness of the watch. I always order my watch waterproofed..........the closest mode I've done is changing straps!!!!LOL....this Panerai BUG has biten me in the [censored] big time now.....this would be my sixth one in six months!!!!! :black_eye:

  10. My 028A (ETA 2892-A2) after the latest modding.

True PVD + superlume + improved crown + improved cyclops + Finepics datewheel + CG lever fix.

Oh, and strap stitching tone matching with the dial markers too. :D

    237934-10708.jpg237934-10709.jpg

A date shot in case someone is especially interested in the new Finepics' datewheel:

    237934-10710.jpg

I am quite proud on how the date looks as I think it is almost 100% with the gen.

It has been a long way, as the ETA 2892-A2 has a small second lens, added right over the date window, that made the watchmen cyclops overpowered. This cyclops is one-of-a-kind, specifically made for this watch after several trials.

On the contrary, I am still unstatisfied with the crown. It is 9 months now that I am waiting for a PVD palpatine crown and there's no sign of incoming delivery. :( So, as a temporary arrangement, I had to modify a Davidsen's crown and make it fit into the original tube.

That is a beaut!!!! Now I want one real bad and since I'm not like you, Surfer, I just have to be contented with a standard REP. Guys??? Would this model from Joshua suffice:

    http://www.perfectclones88.com/pn02801-lea...2892-p-445.html

Please advice....what do you think of the movement with that Sopras Power Reserve Add on Module

  11. Nice collection, love the third pic! Good choice on Breitling's too! Considering an Aerospace myself, how do they wear?

Thanks! They wear nice....the Navitimer came with TT bracelet, but I replaced it with leather....now I like it better. Aerospace is

nice....since its a Ti, its very, very light! Its my daily beater. two things I hate about it, 1.water beading and leaving marks

on the flat saphire crystal and 2. sharp edges of the 3/6/9/12 hour markers on the outside bezel. If you wear it diving with a

wet suit, it rips. Same on long sleeve silky/spandex type materials. Other than that its a great watch.
