  1. Got one from him, too! Great watch! Been wearing it for a week now...alternating with the HBB!!!
Question though, is the yellow dot on the crown also on the Gen?[/codebox]

    Hike,

Yes it is. The yellow dot should seat at the three o'clock position when the crown is locked (bayonet type crown) Turn it to twelve to release the crown, then reverse to lock.

Hope I wasn't telling you something obvious.

    Deen

Thanks, Deen! I kinda figure that one out, but not sure about it being there....I don't see it on any of the Gen pics that I have seen so far! Enjoy your watch like I do mine. BTW: Just ordered this PNA10012 Velcro strap for 44mm Panerai Watches - Black/Yellow from Joshua for the FR0008. I'll let you know how it looks like when I have it switched!

    Have a Happy Easter!

  2. i'd be curious to see more experienced members responses here as well; however, from what i've read, palpatine and finepics's aftermarket pvd seem to win the award for best (most accurate) pvd coating...see this post here

Thanks! That was an excellent post, although I'm looking more on buying from our dealers here. I have looked at Joshua's and Andrew's sites and I wonder if a member have bought one from them....like the PAM195 and what kind of experienced they have with the watch! I'll probably order one from Joshua, though, due to his excellent service and email responses.

  3. Hi All!

I'm in the market for a PVD PAM this time and I'm looking at the 195. Anyone have bought one before and who was your dealer? Is this the best PVD PAM model? I like the logo a lot!

Have the PVD improved lately? This would be my first one and makes me a newbie....I've done some searching here, but I still need some more education on PVD watches. Are they tough? Do they scratch easily? I assume that if you ding them or have deep sctches on them, it would show real bad!

    Thanks for any info!!!

  4. @V - if YOU can't make this watch work then I may as well give up...you were my one hope. My Obi-Wan

I know it B - but I figured I'd reach out in desperation cuz of course I want to like it. I guess its relegated to Oliver or Annie (or Leela?) status. Poor orphan

    @SteveG - I can't even qualify what i don't like about it...I just don't. Its no one thing...its the package.

Thanks all for the reality check - much as I don't want to face it!

    Hi!

I have a 253 and I love it!!!! Do you want to get rid of yours? I'll adopt it for the right price...How old is it? Was it bought from Joshua? Hardly used? In brand new form?

You have pictures? That is, if you wanna give t up! I hate for it not to be enjoyed and put in storage!!!

    Thanks

  5. Im not trying to dive w/ it but if I wear it while swimming in a pool or something am i going to be screwed?

Maybe, maybe not.....but based on my experience, I will suggest not to do it koz if it happens, then you have an aquarium in your wrist! And it cost to ship it back to China and then the agonizing wait.....and wait.......wait! But then again, maybe you dont care about the watch after that!

I only wear my Navitimer TT (and AP RO/RG) as a dress watch now!!!! Wind it once a week.....and maybe wear it once a month.....

I use my PAMs as my daily wear watch.....and sneak in my HBB once in awhile. I cant even remember when I wore my Gens last?

    Good luck my friend!

  6. Andrew is correct....the PAM025 is the Submersible in Titanium with a "Clou de Paris" or Paris-Hobnail-Dial....unfortunately never made it as a rep....what a shame :(

    Theo

You're right about the PAM025 as being made inTitanium, and I agree that it's a same that it is not Rep.....ed! I have the PAM064, which is very similar in design, but darn so heavy. If someone is on my left side and I happen to swing my arm right into that person's face, I'm afraid I'll knock him out! I was kidding a friend that this could be a weapon!

    Thanks for all the input!!!

ALright Dealers: here's another challenge - We want a replica PAM 025....in Titanium of course!!! Once its done, put me down for 2!!!

  7. Thanks guys for the help. I wish there were instructions w/ it. O well I have no Idea what the push button does at the bottom. Yes I am a car guy, that is my car 2003 Saleen Cobra (My baby). I got the watch from Trusty. Fast shipping. I am having a minor problem though. I was messing with the big "Dial" (Haha) around the watch that moves. I think that is used to tell how much air is left in oxygen tanks for diving. But it is coming loose. Is there a way to tighten it up?

    Lee,

Remember you bought a Navitimer and Navitimer are Pilots' watch, not a divers watch!!!! The dial is a slide rule and its used like a calculator.....these system are for the engineering/mathematics geniuses! Pilots use them to calculate fuel, distance, blah..blah...blah during their flight. Never, never mistake this as a divers watch and dive with it, you're gonna be sorry!!!

  8. Congrats! Great watch!

I recommend to check the screws. Some will be loose. After 2 weeks i lost a screw from the bezel. Lucky enough Angus had great afterservice and sent me 2 new screws.

I'm also wondering if mine is waterproof, I'm to chicken to test it ;)

    Enjoy your great watch!

Thanks, so far all the screws seems to be intact! With regards to the waterproofing, I think it comes as water resistant from the factory....and I don't really know what that means. I usually order all my watches from Joshua with waterproofing and he guarantees it up to 5 ATMs...and I'm not sure if that's equivalent to 50ft. I'm always close to the water and I never knew when I'll be jumping in. I don't think its a good scene wearing an expensive looking watch and taking it off just before you get in the water.

  9. Finally received my HBB from Joshua.....very fast turn around, and as usual, Joshua was in excellent form.....constant replies to emails.....great customer service!!!

This watch is a beauty and looks perfect out of the box. I ordered it with waterproofing and I'll test it on the pool soon! Here's some pics:

  10. Hahaha

All Navitimer Series REPS that has the Slide Rule are not waterproofed and could never be weaterproofed. Althogh the Gens are good up to 3 ATMs. I have the Navitimer TT and ordered it waterproofed from one of the dealers here and I was told that the best they could do is service and seal the main case, but not the dial!

I was on the gym one time wearing it and forgot to take it off when I took a shower, and BOy, I was in for a big shock! The darn thing was fogged up big time! That scared the [censored] out of me.....I blow dried the sucker so many times, but after a few minutes, the moisture comes back......the best thing to do that I discovered to clear the moisture slow and easy is to put it on an eyeglass pouch (like one made by Oakley) and leave the darn thing (with face down) on top of your home heating vent overnight....that worked! Its been a month now and it still keeps time with no side effects from the Shower......whew!!!

Get the Bentley GT TT! Amazing watch, but me personally, I'm out of the Navitimer series.....I love my watches so much, I take them swimming and all kind of water sports~! Thats why I always ordered them waterproofed! If they can't be waterproofed, then I'm not buying it!!!

  11. I ordered the chrono version.. FER 008...

I don't know about the closure mechanism.. I have to have it in my hands to let you know.. From the pics you cannot really tell.. although it doesn't seem like ordinary threads.

    We'll see Monday..

    Josua have it, too....FER 008 for $328. http://watchwindersworld.com/fe10005-scude...bph-p-2712.html

I just ordered one with $50 for waterproofing! The reps have no AR coating, but the gen does! Here's a copy of their Specs:

Movement: automatic mechanical, Panerai OP XII calibre, 13

  12. It doesn't break. What happens is that the collar spins on the shaft because of the high torque. This can happen on gens too. Just don't reset when the hand is more than 10 seconds from 12 and you won't have a problem.

Andreww, would this work on all 7750s? I have an AP RO with the same problem!

  13. As long as all the moisture is gone and no further fogging...and it still keeps accurate time. I'd do nothing and consider myself lucky and probably leave said watch on the dresser or sink counter while I showered next time. :p

Seriously consider service if the fogging comes back as there still might be moisture in the watch which ultimately can damage it.

Thanks Steve!!! Believe you me, this Baby will not touch water again!!!!!!

  14. I have a Brietling Navitimer TT and assumed it was waterproofed. Went and took a shower with it

the other day and, to my horror, found the crystal fogged up big time....I tried to blow dry it as suggested

by the dealer, but that didn't worked, so I put it in one of my house's vents and that cleared it up after

being placed there overnight. Question? Should I have it serviced? Any suggestion?

I suspect the moisture came in thru the Slide Rule Dial and not from the pushers and crown.

    Thanks!!!!
