  1. As far as the wise guy, I'm not trying to prove anything pal, just checking to see how the watch is perceived by professionals. "get busted" what are they going to put me in rep jail?

    Is your life so boring that you need to crack wise on a forum for rep waqtches? My post was for those looking to buy so they can be assured of what they are getting

    happy holidays

    Dude!

    I'm a big fun of the ROO! But cut down on the attitude and read the Forums etiquette!~! We don't condone showing off our REPs to ADs! That's just the way it goes, but of course no one could stop you!

    RWG doesn't really have a REP/AD Police Patrol....... :D ,, yet~! The Admin was trying to hire lani, but he's too busy doing he's reviews and what not!

    Chill out and Have a Happy Holiday! BTW: I can't wait for your pics!

  2. Thanks, bro, :):good: I knew it was my favorite for a reason :lol:

    I haven't done the glue mod, as the problem wasn't so much a case of the lever pin simply being loose, it was that there simply wasn't enough pressure in its contact with the crown to always hold it in place. I had asked the watch smith to try adjusting the tube, so there was more pressure from the underside, but, he didn't do it, ( :rolleyes: ) and I remembered reading Andy's comment about filing down the feet of the CG, and that's resolved the issue :) It now locks down securely enough that it doesn't rattle about, and, another mm or so, and it will then lock down tight enough to definitely press the crown and tube closed to ensure the water resistance :lol:

    Have you checked the crown rubber o rings! I put two on mine and that made it tight! I believe it needs two! My DSN 217 have two in it!

  3. What a difference a day made,

    24 little hours...

    DSCN0540.jpg

    I filed down the feet of the CG so the lever is secure, and it finally feels like my property again :wub:^_^B)

    PS That's natural lens flare, not photoshop trickery B)

    Indeed, it seems to be running smooth as silk :) The smith never sorted out the issue with the crown assembly as asked ( :rolleyes: ) but, I recalled you'd said about filing down the feet of the CG itself, so the lever would be tighter. I need to take another few mm off before I'll be happy to try dunk-testing it, but, at least it's stopped rattling when I wear it B):lol: I have to admit, the watch was gone so long, that when I got it back, it didn't actually feel like 'my watch' any more, and I was pretty happy with my Omegas. But, a quick strap change, a little DIY tinkering, and I think we're happily re-united :lol: I'll keep an eye on it for 24 hours to see how well it's keeping time :)

    Hey TJ! That's a wicked Fiddy! Have you tried doing the plastic glue mod on the CG lever? It's pretty easy, but you need to have a plastic heat glue gun that looks like this: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_0...%26+Glue+Sticks

    What you do is remove the CG and punch out the lever, then put a drop of the heated/melted plastic on the hole on the lever and using a paper clip, push it thru the hole! Make sure you push enough of it to go thru the other side! Let it cool hard and slowly wiggle the paper clip to loosen it, using a box cutter blade, cut any excess glue around the bottom clip and pull it out gently. Once it's all out, trim any excess glue and put it back on the CG and put the metal pin thru using a watchsmith hammer, plastic side if you have that one! Viola! Tight as a Virgen!

    Good luck!

  4. Hilarious. I didn't even have to put up a pic of me to get the "how you doin?" Love it.

    Thanks guys for all the info. I've been reading thru this site like crazy, I'm sure I'll figure out where I'm heading for my first rep purchase soon.

    I've got lots of brothers and an ex so you boys won't scare me off. I promise to not drive you all crazy and always keep my questions and info short and sweet. Thanks again.

    We'll take care of your brothers and ex, too! Hehehe! Don't worry, we're all neutered males here! And since Victoria left us, maybe you could take her place! She was somethin

    else and we missed her so much! Thing is, she just disappeared......puffffff, gone! And she was full of wit, humor, knowledge about watches and everything else!

    So, Amy.......you have a big shoes to fill! But don't feel pressured! We welcome your input and ideas from the other side!

  5. OK...after years of looking at Daytonas I finally pulled the trigger. I went for a 6263 because I'm partial to older vintage looking watches. I'm under the impression that the movements are "bulletproof". I got the thing from Paul and the transaction went smooth as silk. He states the movement is a Nouvelle Lemanina 1874 Copy Version. Does this mean I'm the proud owner of a "knockoff" movement :unsure:

    Anyway... I'm gaining about a minute a day and I need to slow it down. I searched but it seems there's nothing on regulating these movements...

    Cheers!

    So you have the faux chronos?

  6. Welcome to RWG and Happy Holidays! I reckon by now you probably have started searching and reading! There's tons of info here, all you have to do is find it! It's like Google, but just watches.......or some smitterins of other relevant and

    irrelevant stuff! But mostly good info! As what have been said already, all the dealers listed here are good sources, but they're people, too and have their own quirks and styles and personality, so what could be an excellent source for me

    might be not acceptable to you! Me in particular only buy from one source, after trying a few, because he give me the most satisfaction in customer service, quick turn around, excellent after sales support and no primadonna complex! So,

    goodluck and enjoy the ride! Just an advance warning, Pretty soon this will turn into a hobby......and after that, an addiction! What that means is a deep pocket, an understanding partner, if you have one and plenty of self control!

  7. Hi guys

    Not sure if anyone can help with this one but.....

    I recently purchased an AP ROO seconds @ 12 from a seller called Fashiontime88 via Tradetang for about 500USD. I have purchased from this guy before (Daytona, Panari) and have had no problems. However the AP is a different story!

    For the first 2-3 days it was fine, better than that, an amazing copy..... then it started to loose time and stop. I never over wound it and was very careful with it. Eventually it died and now it runs for about 5-10 mins then stops regardless of being wound (interestingly enough, if you 'tap' the face it starts up again after it has stopped but only for a minute or two it is as if the power from the spring is not getting to the gears?)

    So, basically I have a nice AP paperweight at the moment. Lucky me.

    My question - does anyone know if, how and where I can get the watch fixed. If I ship it back to China I am pretty sure I'll never see it again and to be honest I'd like to get it fixed if possible. I live in Europe (UK and Spain) but would be prepared to send it to the US if there was a good chance of getting it sorted out.

    Great forum btw, wish I'd have stumbled upon it sooner. Very informative.

    Thanks

    Alex

    Hi Alex!

    First welcome to RWG!

    Sorry to hear about your AP ROO movement problem! I have a few of those and so far, so good! We've been thru your quandary before we found this place! If you had dealt with your dealer before and he is a standup guy, I would send it back to him to be repaired! Our dealers here would fix it with no problems! If you decide to have it done outside of your dealer, our resident expert on your type of movement, ASIA 7750 is The Zigmeister! He could fix that with no problem......, but the problem is would he have time to do it! You mite wanna post a request for him! I don't think you could PM him being new and all! DO a search, too on

    service and repair and I'm pretty sure you'll find some excelletn info!

    Good luck and again, Welcome! This is a good place to stay!

  8. try making your lighting in the room a little more "uniform" and it will really make your photos 100% sharper, perhaps had a little blue....

    Yeah, I agree. Your single strong source is working against what are otherwise technically excellent pictures.

    Thanks guys! I'll try that next round!

  9. I'm hoping and hoping hard that my solid gold franken DJ will arrive before the holidays so I can wear it.... if not then I will probably just wear the tourbillon.

    1219bkm2.jpg

    That's a genuine fox pelt, by the way (sorry PeTa members)

    I can't wait to see what everyone else is wearing... I guess it's holidays and weddings when we see the "best of the best" !

    @corgi

    That's a wicked watch!

    How very festive, I can practically hear the jingle bells! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

    I have minimal hope that my PO will be back from repairs, :( but very hopeful that a modded Bond-blue SMP will be completed and under the treee.

    @clellandm

    HOHOHO!

    @hikeusa

    nice color combo, looks similar to AP singapure edition ;)

    @ice

    Gaaaad! the AP Singapore is my dream! I hope the dealers are planning to do it!

    Ditto.

    I have absolutely no idea what I might wear tomorrow, let alone for a holiday that is still a week or more away. I have never understood how people can know what they will be wearing days in advance. Do people lay out a weeks' worth of outfits in stacks with watches on top of them & then actually stick to the plan? :unsure:

    @freddy

    Believe it or not, I already have my clothes picked out for our office party this Tues., Corporate party on Wed and Xmas Eve Family (I host every year in my house) Party! It's Xmas........you have to dress for it! And it has to be festive!!!!
