  1. Certainly the best comedy on US television currently. For guys, maybe the best ever. Consistently well written, and just enough 'over the top' without being stupid.

Jake was better when he was younger, but he can steal a scene with the best of them ... :D

And don't forget to read the vanity cards at the end of the show, particularly 147 and 172.

Have you seen the new "Worst Weekend"? Now that is hilarious!

  2. There's a big AD just below/behind the Marriotts Hotel on Orchard Rd. Good collection of PAMs when I was there last year! I believe there's plenty of other ADs along orchard! Check the nite zoo and Sentosa Island if you have the time!

    Enjoy your trip!

  3. I don't know exactly how you're putting it back, but here's The Zigmeister's tip:

"On a 2836 type, you DON"T press the stem release pin, it's only used on release. Insert the crown and stem all the while TURNING it as you insert it, otherwise you may knock the clutch gear out of place, as you insert it, turn the crown in the winding direction and when you feel and see the movement winding (Rotor Removed of course, so as to not damage the cluck wheels) continue to turn the crown as you finish inserting the stem and it will lock in position."

Hope that helps and thank The ZigmeisterZumba/Rob for the Tip!

  4. Hello to all you expert guys from a newbie.

I am thinking of buying a rep GMTII C and I have done extensive reading in this as well as another site...!

I have seen many problems for the correct or the wrong hand stack as well as reviews like http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=82501 for the overall feel of the watch.

I might be a bit strange but I dont want to buy something that will not be - at least - 99% perfect..... ;)

What do you advise me to do (go and buy a Euromarine..?) ?

    Thanks and regards

Buy the GEN, that's the only model or version that doesn't have any flaw!!!! :D;)

  5. Have some time during the weekend, so I took some side by side comparison pics of the gen and rep GMTIIC. Besides all the usual flaws pointed out earlier, the mail difference is the overall feel of the watch. Gen has a more defined case. Angles on the case is sharper. Lume is also matt and not shiny like the rep. GMT hand has a different green shade as well. Crown on the bracelet is bigger for gen. Enjoy the pics.

    $188-390??? versus $7200????.

    Of course everything is different??????

  6. Hike,

Is there any particular reason why one should turn it forward for 3 days? I am sure there are legitimate reasons, is it to break the gear somewhat in? I would definitely use that logic to adjust the timezone. I never touch the other two; looked at it, and they are both back in the bubble wraps. Will take some pics this evening so I can send the pics to the dealer. When it went wrong the first time, I had attached the pics and send it to the dealer. They apologized and promised to do it right. Then this happened again. I will take the picture with the watches side by side and just show how frustrated this experience has been. Thanks for all the encouragements guys. It's as if I am looking to receive a holy grail watch. The sweat, and the anticipation! ;)

I believe it is to break-in the gears and mesh properly......what ever it does, it works! Hope it does for you.......whenever you get your GMT IIc!

  7. It's up to you of course. That's what the dealer feedback sections are for, ultimately: Giving other members honest feedback about the dealers.

What happened to the first wrong watch? Did you ship it back at your own expense... and how did the dealer respond now, when you received your SECOND wrong watch?

Sending someone a wrong watch once is understandable, but TWO TIMES is just nuts. If the dealer is reasonable, he should ship the third watch immediately to you... and on top of that he should let you keep the wrong one you received.

haha BT, that is a good suggestion. Well, I will wait for the dealer's response. I have both watches right now, completely unworn, in the bubble wraps. I wanted to make sure that I get the correct ceramic gmt, before I ship back the watch, and now watches. I also wanted to talk to the dealer to make sure that they would reimburse me of the costs that will incur during registered postage. This was all going to be brought up, postage wise, AFTER I receive the ceramic. but now it looks like it will be another 2 weeks.......

after I reupgrade the membership tonight, I will PM you with the dealer's name, to give you a heads up. wish I can send a PM now, but since my account was downgraded, my inbox is full, so my PM to you did not go through, I don't think. But I'll let you know tonight, after I address the membership issue. Thanks!

Woody! I agree with BT....they should compensate you for the return shipping costs and mental anguish....so keep the second watch for that.......and Yes, don't send those back until you get the right one.....and if....God Forbid, you get the third one wrong.....again!....keep the three and tell your dealer to forget it! THAT IS TOTALLY Unacceptable and ridiculous! Tell them to SUE you! Hehehe!

But if you get the right one (Same one as mine!), try and put it on time setting, then turn it equivalent to 3 days or more, set the date and time...and then set the GMT! That should work, it did for me! I have mine now for a month!

    Good Luck!
