Letter and Apollo you hit the nail on the head Singapore Airport it is.
I was actually waiting in line at passport control on arrival looked up and above the immigration booth was this AP clock
Guess if you have to wait a while you might as well see the time on a nice piece.
I had not seen them before guess we rarely look up sometimes and we can miss things
ST4
Miss things????? Most of us miss it big time! Check this out:
Washington, DC Metro Station on a cold January morning in 2007. The man with a violin played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time approx. 2 thousand people went through the station, most of them on their way to work. After 3 minutes a middle aged man noticed there was a musician playing. He slowed his pace and stopped for a few seconds and then hurried to meet his schedule.
4 minutes later:
the violinist received his first dollar: a woman threw the money in the hat and, without stopping, continued to walk.
6 minutes:
A young man leaned against the wall to listen to him, then looked at his watch and started to walk again.
10 minutes:
A 3-year old boy stopped but his mother tugged him along hurriedly. The kid stopped to look at the violinist again, but the mother pushed hard and the child continued to walk, turning his head all the time. This action was repeated by several other children. Every parent, without exception, forced their children to move on quickly.
45 minutes:
The musician played continuously. Only 6 people stopped and listened for a short while. About 20 gave money but continued to walk at their normal pace. The man collected a total of $32.
1 hour:
He finished playing and silence took over. No one noticed. No one applauded, nor was there any recognition.
No one knew this, but the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the finest musicians in the world. He played one of the most intricate pieces ever written, with a violin worth $3.5 million dollars. Two days before Joshua Bell sold out a theater in Boston where the seats averaged $100.
This is a true story. Joshua Bell playing incognito in the metro station was organized by the Washington Post as part of a social experiment aboutperception, taste and people's priorities. The questions raised: in a common place environment at an inappropriate hour, do we perceive beauty? Do we stop to appreciate it? Do we recognize talent in an unexpected context?
One possible conclusion reached from this experiment could be this: If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world, playing some of the finest music ever written, with one of the most beautiful instruments ever made.... How many other things are we missing?

I have a PVD Parnis Uboat homage that I want to vintagize, haven't tried yet, I am still casting around for ideas...
Hey JG!
I followed Ubi suggestion using OxyClean and this is the result, now on a different strap:
I'll try to get some closeups tomorrow with natural lighting!
BTW: Be extra carefull when you take out the crown, the keyless works dislodges easily:
I had to reset mine a few times!

Sweet! Are these for sale?

To give PVD some character... Hit it with a cape cod, and then wear it for some natural wear and tear.
After some cape cod time...
Much less chalky with a bit of a gun metal tone; a bit more sheen to the finish as well as a sort of oxydyzed look... Much better character in my opinion...
Hey R-! How long did it take you? And those edges, they look like they're almost close to the metal......are they?
Thanks, Mate!

Interesting result
What happened to the second sweep hand?
I decided to take it out.....i think it looks better without it!
VERY VERY COOL!!!!!!
I love it! Are you going to do anything to the case? I think it would look even better if somehow the case were distressed to match the dial, the case looks too new/perfect now.
Please explain again about the painting: You painted the dial and then sanded between coats, but are there only two colors on the dial itself? I see the yellow and black and a TOUCH of red there too, or is that the photo? And did you use two colors on the base plate too, or just one?
Thanks, and again, FANTASTIC project!
I'm thinking of doing the TeeJay "Torture" treatment!
With regards to the paint layers, on the base plate, it was brass metal and the leftover lume, I sanded that down and spray painted it matte black, and after 4 hours of drying time, I sanded it down just enough and then sprayed the red! After another 4 hours of drying time, I sanded it a little rough to give it that aged look!
The dial was kinda the same process.....light blue dried for 4 hrs, then black, this time sanded down a bit to make the LB come out, then the red sanded down again a bit to show the 3 layers and finally the yellow (this time dried for 24 hrs to make it really hard).....and sanded down to what you see! You can't really notice the Light Blue color, but my thinking was that it would enhance the black! Then I polish it by just rubbing it with one of those eyeglass cleaning clothe......while watching TV.....and there you go!
The hands I completely strip and just give it that bare metal look! I think the effectg is good!
Any tip on how I could aged a PVD case without stripping it? I'm open for suggestions!

After the first Mod Project I did a few months back....read here: ,
A picture gallery of my next project based on the same base watch from GetStat, HK:
This project took some time, but finally.....here it is:
The inside:
and this is how it turned out....after two coats of paint on the base plate, and four on the dial. EAch layer was slowly and smoothly sanded down before each coating....
