  2. Nice pictures guys. Tomorrow I'm leaving you all for 9 days or so on my US trip. I expect I'll give you some pics when I get back if they are wanted!

Spending the last couple of days really trying to get to grips with the 50D. So worth every penny I spent on it.. I don't expect every shot I take from it to be brilliant, my keep rate is pretty low at the moment but the ones that are keepers I quite like indeed.

So an arty shot of my faithful gen which you will all be familiar with by now:

and a bonus shot I took of a lovely lady friend of mine:

    Both looks perfect IMHO! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

    Happy Trip! Where in US?

  3. Looks like a good first buy, and easy on the pocket if the a21j is acceptable to you. I buy everything in a21j, cause I'm cheap! Even though I think it's a "given" that a properly serviced ETA will outlive an a21j, remember the operative phrase is "properly serviced". The way I look at it I can stuff in a lot of DG2813 movements for the price of a "proper service" and probably have money left over!

If you are handy with a drill you can open up the lug holes so they will take the proper spring-bars. That made more of a difference than I ever thought it would. I have ordered a Double-Red Sea Dweller and can't wait to dive in and start drilling on it!

....................and when you get done drilling lug holes on yours, I could send you mine! It nees some drilling, too! :pardon:

  4. Nice one Hike! What's the Toothbrush/Toothpaste trick? Haven't seen that one yet.

You make sure that your watch is at least good to be worn in the shower; then get it wet........

Take an old toothbrush....get it wet, apply some toothpaste (I use the regular all white Colgate)

on ontop of the bristle (like you're going to brush your teeth!) and then slowly spread it all over the

case (front and back and the bracelet if it's metal) and brush gently all over...........

When you get done......your watch would be as "Pearly" as those nice beautiful teeth of yours! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

It puts back the "Smile" in your watch! You'll think it's brand new!

    Have fun!
