PAM 249Cali!
Have a safe TGIF everyone!

Excellent job........, but.......shouldn't the lume be less bright than that???
Any tips on how you installed the strap and the process of soldering the lugs? I would really appreciate that!
Thank you......and well done!

OK, the lug mods are "roughed" in unless I want it to look like an old abused watch then they are almost finished!
I think this will have to go back into the box for a while as I have some retention rings, to make, other stuff to mod, real job, etc...
And I thought I was busy.......................................
Looking good my friend!

Thanks, gang.
The hommage is for a friend of my wife's; One of the hardest working guys I know, puts his wife and son before himself in everything and despite his hard work, I'm not sure that they are living as well as they should be. So, I figure a watch might be a fun way to brighten the day for him. I put this thing together with a helenarou kit and a movement I had that was sitting around in the parts box. It's not much, but hopefully he likes it...
Ooooooops! You're Da Man! Lucky friend!

Honestly???? Give that to your child if you have one...or a nephew....and get yourself a descent rep! If you like that style, PM me and I'll help you find one! You will never find the right hands for that here! The movement is so wrong!

I recently built this Pilot hommage for a friend of mine as a surprise gift:
Since I'm planning on presenting it to him today, I thought it was only fitting to wear my 3717 franken...
(even though I really wanted to wear my Tudor MC
)
Happy Weds!

R-! Man.....I can't believe you remember my birthday! Thanks a gazillion! You didn't have to.......you're the man!
Well, I'll wear my New Tona6265 with just installed T21 crystal!
Have an easy Hump Day everyone! I took the rest of the week off for an early Double Nickle celebration all the way to the big one!
Cheers, all!

Cool! That will simplify things.
Good luck with the project my friend!

Hi and welcome to RWG! If you start reading and researching here, you will learn a lot. For that particular watch...search PAM183 or Radiomir, and you'll find out a lot about the watch!
I believe the watch that you bought is a copy of a PAM183.......and Man, if it is???? IMHO, It's a bad one!
Sorry!!! But we all did what you did, so it's just part of experience and learning process! Soon you'll be an expert! But read and research!

Does anyone have the required dimensions for the dial?
Is the original required, or a rep equivolent?
As I don't have access to the original I have no benchmark dimensions to work from.
Maybe the "standard" rep 28.5mm sub dial is the target, but who knows?
Has anyone got any info?
I'm pretty sure it should be coming up pretty soon from our resident experts!
Great job!
Yummy! If you ever get tired of this........................??????? you know who to PM!

Nice reaad there B-! Thanks!

Just spent the afternoon trying to oxidize my 172 with Oxyclean...Did everything as explained...
AND IT'S A COMPLETE DISASTER!!
SS is not supposed to be oxidized but it became brownish, as the case did...
I guess this case is dead!
It was coming from DSN, don't know if he uses real titanium, or if the crown guard and bezel were really made of SS...
Have you tried Cape codding it? Cape cod should take the copperry color out and make the titanium come out!

Can finally wear this one. First attempt at making a strap. Had to be sewn onto fixed wire lugs. Vintage length.
Watch out for that buckle, you mite cut uself!
-
I'm not an expert, but in my research of the 6154, the case are all in SS, like this:
I have seen different variations of the dial though:
The dial you're using is more of the Panerai 3646. Hope this helps! I'm also in the same quest as you are!
donerix is quite humble, but I consider him an expert on the Vintage PAMs!
Goodluck with your project!

I'm gonna change gear and hang out with Freddie this Sat & Sun with our Tonas!

Well done, E-! AS usual, only the best from the Master Vintagizer!

PAM 202a

Just tremove the stem and the two Screw/Tab movement holders and then just slowly tap it downwards! If it does not budge, you mite want to depress the chrono tabs on the movement slightly! You don't remove the chrono pushers!
