  1. My frankens all have more sentimental value to me than any of my gens, past or present. This is mostly because I build them myself, my own two hands and thus I interact with them far more than I would had I just purchased at the AD.

Those that don't understand, probably never will, nor does it really matter to me. I build my watches for me. Much like people who spend a fortune on building cars, or collecting baseball cards or whatever, a hobby is what you make of it.

    Amen to that....ubi!

Emotional attachment?????.......insecurities????? nahhhhhh! They're just metal you wear around your wrist! Some with leather on them.....some with rubbers!

I have both and I don't feel any different wearing either! What the REPs allow me is to own those GEN pieces that you can't find in the market anymore or if you do, it's way beyond what you could afford! Let's be honest, where can you find a GEN PAM202a in circulation? A PAM207a, or a Paul Newman Daytona...or a PAM036? If you do, can you afford it? I can't! This is where this hobby of ours fill my niche!

    Great post! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  2. I feel so bad for the Purists in the midst!!! :cry2:

Black, robust and highly technical. The most remarkable feature of the Breitling Avenger Seawolf Chrono Blacksteel, its magnetic pushpiece system, is hidden inside its case. With this exclusive, patented device, the watch can be activated through the metal case without any direct mechanical contact. As most chronographs cannot be used when diving, this device means that the Avenger Seawolf Chrono is the only instrument of its kind that is totally water-resistant and functional to a record depth of 1,000 metres. Its SuperQuartz TM movement - another exclusive Breitling creation - guarantees a precision ten times greater than ordinary quartz movements; it measures times to 1/10 of a second and indicates intermediary times. Limited series of 2,000.

Good to see you wearing something other than a Daytona or IWC! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  4. The case that Ubi gifted me is so good .. no dimples.. it need to be technically correct, so I'll have the lugs drilled to accept the PreV screws.. and I have the LH CG to add.. so I'm having the pvd done over so the CG and the lug screws will match.. PVD can be temperamental with different coatings, and understanding this.. I decided to redo the project.. the CG that is in the pic is good for the H series but I need the Historic CG :thumbsupsmileyanim: and the PreV lug screws, that being with the little screws to secure the bar at both ends of the lugs..

Thnks for the insight, Lani! Excellent info! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  5. My 202A

It is being redone with PreV lugs and an upgraded PreV CG :thumbsupsmileyanim:

    Hey Lani! Looking good! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

What do you mean by "redone"? Are you replacing the case? Where did you source your PreV CG?

Thanks for any info you could share!

  6. @siesta181......you're da man! :thumbsupsmileyanim: Thanks for starting this thread!

Finally found a source for the hands.......and you know who!

Thanks all! Great/excellent pieces! Hopefully mine come out looking as good as these ruggedly and rare handsome pieces! :clapping:

  7. @HikeUSA: You cheated... that Triple Sensor must be at least 20 years newer than our examples. :D But it's actually pretty cool watch.

Sorry......but you're right.....I think I got this in the very early '90s! You know, your's and thogaa's Casios were expensive then? If

you were wearing one of those, you're "in"! :thumbsupsmileyanim: The good 'ol days!

  8. @thogaa & BT, would this count? My first Triple Sensor Casio.....wore it on my 1st backpacking trip in Western/Eastern Europe! Got a lot of notice from fellow passengers on the trains I took! and it still works!!!
