  2. Congratulations T!!!! and to Alan! And lots of gratitude to your gentleman friend!

WE (the family) spend the whole day today with my 2nd son who's going back to school (Junior Criminal Law) on Monday and as a parting gift I

give him the YatchMaster that our esteemed member here, Raijor, gave me sometime ago! I told him that it came from someone I haven't meet

in person, but I consider a good friend whom I meet here and that he should take good care of it! Anyways........he was way overjoyed!

Tell your son to wear that watch well!

    F

  3. IMHO better info here :) - whatever you do, don't send any watches to RBJ!

by the way - south side of chicago? i hear thats the baddest part of town

........................koz we got more guns than the Army of Georgia! If we are next to Russia, those Ruskies wont be fockin with us!

  4. I thought this was the place!!

I did 2 years in BK buying watches and whilst its easy to go to MBK etc i found far better deals and prices in "Kom tom" in the "underground Bazar"

if you can find it you will be rewarded by cheaper prices, less stock but only the best.

Where is it and how do you get there?

and BTW: can someone recommend a good and backpacker friendly hotel in BK......thanks!

  5. I like them both, but u wear them according to the occasion.......beach/pool/work around the hous/sports=rubber! Party/church=leather! But you gotta wear it with the right combo of clothes.....probably white shirt and black pants/belt/shoes!

  6. Now that things have calmed down a bit on both sides... I took a second look at his initial post... perhaps TeeJay was 100% honest with his intentions. Somehow that just came out very badly to us... but we could have been wrong, and maybe he had a legitimate reason to demand an answer.

If that was the case, I apologize for my harsh replies. You all know that I rarely lose my temper, but allegations (even veiled ones) of us being "dirty" in ANY shape or form really made my blood boil. I feel this issue very strongly, because I have invested so much time on this community without getting ZERO financial compensation in return. Not that I'd ever wanted any... for me, the feedback from the members is 1000X times more rewarding than money anyway. Same thing with the other admin team members, they do this for the love of this community. Keep in mind that we're volunteers, and although you support the forum maintenance financially you are not supporting us financially, we're not on your payroll.

Anyway... perhaps there should have been an official "Here we stand" post, but we felt like it wasn't our business, because the incident of J&A banning happened in another forum. God knows we have enough problems and drama of our own. Perhaps we were a bit lazy, but this time we didn't want to get involved with it.

But we wanted people to have an open, free discussion (as always) without taking any sides, and it's only natural that things get heated occasionally. I think it was fair that everyone had a chance to post their opinion. But somehow, even this was possible to turn against us... at least it looked that way (TeeJay's post). I'm sure none of this have happened if we just closed the thread from the page 1. That would have been the "easy way out", but like I said in my previous post... we don't handle things that way.

Have more trust in us... we discuss everything in the admin room... and make appropriate decisions (when needed). We can sometimes make wrong moves and it's 100% ok to challenge them... but please don't question our integrity... I can assure you that there is ZERO need for that.

This is not about TeeJay only... I think he was a bit of a scapegoat here, for getting all this heat. We have noticed a trend with other posters too: Something bad happens in the community, and it's always RWG where all this controversy gets posted first. And usually it gets only posted on the RWG. RepGeeks don't want these kind of discussions there, and I understand them perfectly. They have a different style of running their forum, and I'm sure it's much less stressful for their Admin Team.

On the other hand we appreciate that people feel that all things can be discussed openly and freely here... and that's exactly how we want things to be in the future as well. But on the other hand because of this we feel that we have to carry much heavier weight for being "responsible" for everything, and I don't think it's always justified.

In short: You can discuss almost anything, but please don't always force us to "take a stand" on absolutely everything. Some dealers are good, some are not so good. Who those are... almost everyone has a different opinion. That's how the business is.

I'm pretty sure TeeJay have retired for the night now at his end of the world, but I'm also pretty sure that he appreciates BT's candor in offering this Post! Knowing TeeJay, I'm 100% sure he was wholeheartedly honest with his post! TeeJay is just voicing what he thinks is the general feelings of the community becuase he cares for all of us.........for what its worth!

All's well that ends well! Alleluaiah! Peace to all!

  7. @Client9... Nah, I won't say it. I recommend you do some reading before rubbing more salt in this wound.

    Now did someone mention...............................

    .......... a TRL? :Jumpy:

TJ and I have had our differences... we worked them out.... I still hold different views form TJ.. that does not mean we are not friends.. Men have times that can be emotional .. because there is "Passion" involved !!

If someday you have time invested in making this the best forum (IMO) on the net.. and doing it for the passion of the hobby and to make sure we have this place here tomorrow.. you may also find yourself emotionally involved in Questions that have been asked and answered before..

what useful good can your remarks make after all is resolved C9 ??

Why not try spending 5 to 8 hours a day after and before your "paying" job and do it not for yourself but for the "community" and see how "Bland" you can react..

and btw why not try and be a "supporter" instead of a "sniper"... ... if you really want to help that is..???????

    C9...

I just took the time to read through your 49 posts since you joined our Forum 2 months ago...

You've taken cracks at the Admin Team, Dealers, and senior members...

And have contributed nothing to speak of...

So I'm going to do you [and us] a favor...

Your Posting Abilities have been removed for 1 week...

You can still visit the Forum and read as much as you like...

We just won't have to read your opinions on the above aforementioned...

I'd suggest you take the week to determine if you'd like to become a productive member of this community...

    TT

    AMEN!!!!!!!

  8. sorry to hear about your troubles - look on the bright side, its only money

in the last 48 hrs, my aunt had a stroke, my son has 102 fever, my wife is about ready to tell me to take a hike, the city employees working outside my house cut the line for my internet access. the hard drive that i keep all my work and projects on for the last 10 years mysteriously died and they want 3300$ to retrieve the data. My wife's car's breaks went out 1,000 miles past the warrenty, - $1200. Something in t he concoction of pills i take for back pain has caused my bloodpressure to go to 150/100 unless i lay down flat. So now were trying to figure what it is, i'm on less pills, which means more pain, and still high BP - plus i get dizzy when i stand up.

AND - if i don't pick up a new client soon, i'm going to have to file for bankruptcy. or sell my collection :(

remember - its just $$ and just a watch - try not to let it control your day- i know how you feel though, it took me a long time to get over the obsession of tracking and waiting for the post office to show up.

Hi pho! I wish I had known?????

Sorry to hear about your misfortune and bad health! I hope you recover soon from both!

Re: your hard drive???? Is it completely dead? Does your system see it. You might be able to recover it thru software......just in case you haven't tried already!

That's a lot of chunk change they're charging you to recover it! How big is it?

  9. I now where they where last but who now's its such a big system in work..

I em so [censored] sad right now i think i justed up all my luck when i was born in Norway that was like my lucky moment in life  after that it rolles down..

Now you could move to the US and order all the watches you want......we very rarely loss them! :D

Kidding aside, I feel bad for you! But this happening in Norway of all places??? Maybe in 3rd world countries (I know a few that I won't even mail to any item worth a thing), but Norway????

I don't know you're country that much, but I equate it with the US for efficiency and righteousness........although not 100%, but.........???????

I don't get it? Where were they shipped from????

  10. Greasing the seals will not ensure that the watch is watertight. The grease adds nothing to the waterproofness or tightness of the case. All greasing does is allow the seals to be lubricated and not hang up on the caseback when you screw it down, or the crown when you wind, set the time, or unscrew it from the tube.

There is a simple test you can do before you risk your watch in water (I am still of the opinion that if you really need to swim with a watch, you buy a cheapie disposable one...).

Homemade 4 foot water pressure test.

Get a pyrex measuring cup or clear container.

Heat water to 120 F and fill the cup with water.

Insert the watch into the water, and look for a stream of bubbles, if you see bubbles, you have a leak. Remove the watch immediately.

If there are no bubbles, it's waterproof to about 4 feet of depth.

How this test works is simple, the heat causes the air to expand inside the case, as it expands IF there is an escape route for it from the case, you will see the bubbles.

This test will not damage the watch, because the air is trying to ESCAPE, the water is not trying to get in, as long as you remove the watch before the bubbles stop (in case of a leak) the water won't go inside the watch case.

    Good luck.

  11. Has anyone been successful at removing the entire bezel of an SSD and then reassembling it without damage to the watch or bezel? I would really love some suggestions or guidance. :o

    Thanks!

Welcome to RWG - where education is free, but the addiction is expensive! Please use the search button and you will find what you're looking for! SSD and Sub bezel removal should be the same....hint...hint! I believe if you look for a post of giormani about this subject, you'll get some good tips!

    Goodluck!
