  1. It was never a concern in the past as most of the pieces go to The Zigmeister for full servicing ... but the lower tier models .. well may as well learn on them myself..

T-tops just arrived at the gym.. sheesh .. better late than never.. soon it will be winter again :p .. gotta have a big wide back though these are the "muscle back" version.. not "broke back" ... :o

I agree with you. Those were the one's I started playing with and have a few asian movements laying around dead! LOL!

Ok Brah.....send the T-tops man...I have a 46 chest.....so figure out the size! Don't forget the Poki mix to go with it! That darn thing is hard to find here! I'll PM you my address. Let me know what

I owe and I'll send you a check! Thanks, brother.......much appreciated!

  2. From what I see so far, the 'sync' problems seem to be both temporary (fixable by the owner) & afflicting all versions of the GMT regardless of whether they are chs or ihs. But after The Zigmeister has overhauled 1 of the chs versions I think we will be better able to pinpoint those problems that are specific to the chs movements from those that relate to either the general GMT functions of either movement or those typical problems that plague most surplus (unserviced) ETA and/or Asian movements.

    Thanks!

  3. GROUP BUY UPDATE!!! received a package from Neil... lets say I am less than pleased. I am going to give him a chance to make things right before I make comments here...

just to recap, it took over 5 months and countless emails and pms to Neil and his close friends, on 2 different boards to get to this point... I cant wait to share my story with all of you :) stay tuned...

I was a little shocked to see this thread come up! Wow, you actually received something from Neil after all these months! I can't wait till you tell us your story! When sailinjack got his a few months ago,

he PM'ed me that Neil will be sending mine soon...........I guess it's still in the Thai PO koz I haven't seen it yet!

BTW: How many watches did you order? I ordered two!

  4. Drop him! It's not worth it! You need respect and you should have it! I always believe in "the customer is always right" motto! This was where me and TTK had a major disagreement!

This is not an American thing! A customer is a customer, irregardles of nationality, number of purchases, amount of purchase, etc. $10 or $10000 is the same if you're buying!

I have bought my collections mostly from Joshua because he always is upfront with me and always honor his responsibilities as a dealer. If I have a problem, he suggest to have it

fixed locally, if not he asked to have it sent back and I always get it back fixed or replaced! If its a minor thing like a broken strap or a defective case, He sends a replacement without

even asking for proof like pictures or whatnot! I have tried a few dealers, but no one could approach the kind of service and products that I get from him!

Other than Joshua, the only other person I'll buy my collectiojns from are RWG MEMBERS! I have bought and traded from some of our esteemed members (mostly supporters, but some not) from all over the world and I have yet to be disappointed! Zip, Nada......

TAKE YOUR BIZNIZ SOMEWHERE ELSE! HE'S TOO BIG TIME FOR YOU NOW!

  5. Placed an order last night from Angus's website and now I'm on all pins and needles waiting for the shipping info. I want that watch now.... :Jumpy:

How long does it take for you to get a tracking number or something?

I ordered one from Joshua late last night, I had EMS Tracking # this morning and email that the watch have been shipped! I should see the watch Monday, next week~!

    Hike!

  6. About diggin the Nikon... YA THINK ??? :g: .. with all the tropical baeches you think it would be a no brainer to get shots next to the ocean.. with the thongs walking around.... ya think people will believe me when I tell them I'm just shooting pics of my watch :whistling:

I yet have to see the pictures! When is that going to happen, brah? Post them already!!!!

  7. I guess this is just the growing process.. as I really don't posses great mechanical skills..

But after being around a while and owning numerous reps.. you get tired of sending back problems that are not "The Zigmeister qualified" meaning only Zig can do the "fix".. or more important the one "I" trust to do it..

So I ordered the simple basic tools from Ofrei.. case back opener for the Rolex (just the 29.5 die and handle).. and a set of bergeon screw drivers... you all have seen (newer members) pics of movements destroyed by mods using the hardware store screw drivers...

a case "Ball" opener .. better than duct tape ... and some oils gear train and gasket lubes..

I have removed the crystal for chiefs crystal run.. I thought that was a freedom of sorts... so I am sitting watching my DVD.. and every time I raise my arm to take a pull at my cigar I hear the locomotive coming down the tracks..( the rotor) in my Vintage P.Newman daytona.. which I had to regulate after it was running 60 minutes fast every 12 hours.. and this I did out of remembering a post of the regulator arm.. because the needle is a faux ... so after 2 day's of tweaking it is running a few seconds fast every day.. talk about feeling like I just cracked a safe !!!!the feeling of "I did that myself" !!!

Ok back on point.. so with my new found confidence.. I figure .... Why not ??? so I open the case back remove the rotor.. and with a toothpick apply the gear train lube.. (which Say's .."will not ball up... run.. break down or gum up.. it's a micro lube...) Now I don't know if this is the proper lube.. I guess I'll find out.. and I then apply this to the ball bearings in the rotor ... clean the excess of.. use the Joe blow.. (blower to get any dust out of the movement .. put the case back on...

and start shaking the watch.. sheesh.. still noisy ... until I realize it's the bracelet making the noise..so I hold the bracelet tight.. and do it again (turning off all sound to the (DVD) ........

And guess what I hear.......NOTHING.. NO NOISE.. QUIET.. PRETTY MUCH SILENT .. so I open the back.. maybe it's not turning even though I feel it turning..

It's still in place.. turning quietly... now I know the vets here are saying ... "didn't you know that ??" .. NO i did not .. but I do now.. :D it's seems it's just the ball bearings in the rotor that are dry as a bone from the factory..ergo .. train on the tracks noise..

So to all the junior and sophomore members who complain about the noisy rotor... wanna do something about it ?? or just whine ;)

if you do .. I will post pics on how to do this freshman 101 service.. either that or be like past members.. hang a shingle and say I do mods.... :bangin::bicycle: yeah right.. all we need is another one..

I'm surprised you just found out about this fix! You're slowing down, brah! LOL! :D I love you man! Send me some of that COFFEE and a box of POKI MIX koz I'm completely out!

    Hike!

BTW: You could do the same trick on your noisy Chopard MMXL!

  8. You live and slowly learn I guess, was my first iOffer transaction to boot, not a good way to start.

Any how Hike that 113 looks great , I've just received NYCDave's D Series case back so I'm on my way of sorts towards a 003.

Hi Storm! Thanks! Got it from ztech, and I installed a Panatime blue elephant strap! Actually this watch is chameleon! It would take any strap and it

changes its appearance! How's winter over yonder?

    Cheers, mate!

  9. thanks guys!!! i liked your old avatar better hike but the new 1 is good too,you should also bring back the old signature pic :D!! its hit or miss with the diamonds. i actually really disliked it for awhile, but after seeing a bunch of pictures of evo's with diamond bezel's they started to grow on me - now i love them! i'm actually suprised people here like it at all, was expecting everyone to be grossed out. from far away the bezel is actually somewhat subtle because the diamonds are colorless but upclose it definitely screams BLING!, and thats what a diamond bezel is supposed to do! :)

@UB7 and lani: Just for you dudes! here goes!

  10. Nice piece, I'm really thinking about a BR02.

i'm curious about this one too...

would you mind taking a pic of the other side of the case -- is there a faux helium escape valve on this one? if so, what does it look like?

finally, who did you get this one from?

    thanks in advance,

    deltatahoe

    @delta

Yes there is! Here you go!

    BR021024ok.jpg

I'm lovin this watch! It's been on time +30sec for 48 hours! Since I greased everything, I've gone swimming and takin' showers with it with no problems! Used it working out, too!

    BR02T.jpg

For it's size, it's very, very comfortable! Best rubber strap on a REP that I own!!!

Highly recommended......just be carefull with the crown when you screw it on to the tube! It''s not well aligned! Grease it and it gets much better!

I got it from Joshua! Good luck!

  11. ya know ah love ya man.. (not like that) ... but you Hike, are not exactly the epitome of subtle....:whistling: .. just check out your avatars... ah right... you made my day with that one!!

Sori brah! I had temporary mental black out after seeing all the blings! Sorry UB7, Dude! Didn't mean to hurt your feelings! I just have this bad reactions to too mch bling! My mind gets cloudy and fuzzy after that! It's the same feeling after I finish half a bottle of Petron Anejo and smoking a Cohiba! I love you guys!!!!

  12. Ok, the reactions here have been pretty odd.

In the far east, presenting a face (mianzi or lian, explained here) is more important than in the west. Yes, it's a generalisation, but it's more true than not. In some circles, it's all about appearances and presentation, with the watch you wear, the car you drive, etc., and putting on a show of richness can be more important than presenting other traits.

It's a long discussion, but I'm a little shocked people jumped down Dabom's throat. Maybe you're all shamed into a loss of face and have to rattle sabres to keep the illusion up. :)

    @Pug!

You can't be more true! I experienced this first hand in the mountain province of the Philippines! I was there last year in a town called Kalinga, in Apayao province (not sure about this) for a

mountain trekking/hiking trip for a week and to test one of the Philippines famed white water river called Chico. I stayed in a very small motel in town for the first night and the next day my

guide (recommended by one of the local officials and my local/native host) picked me up and we went off to the mountains for a week! When we came back, I stayed at the motel again and that

night he brought over the guide for our white water rafting trip the next day for an introduction. After some small talk and since the sun was still up, i asked if they could take me around their town and they did.

Make a long story short, his 8 year old son must have figured out that we're stopping by there house because by the time we got there, a huge crowd had formed around their house. The WW guide invited me (and my trekking guide) to his house, introuduce me to his wife, mother-in-law and 8 children ranging from 19 to 2 yrs old! And this would blow you away, the eleven of them lived in a hut 12' by 14' (just my estimation)! Anyway, we talked and pretty soon I could hear a chicken squawking outside, then the wife showed up with a dead chicken and started cleaning and cooking it. So I asked if its time for them to have dinner so that I could excuse myself and he said it is, but that I have to stay koz I am the guest and that the chicken was for me! Man, talked about being touched! It's probably one of the few chickens they have and they have to kill and cook it for me! The story actually goes on, but you got the gist of it!

It's just part of their culture, which is amazing! I never forgot those people!

  13. I wear reps because I am a good business-man. If I can buy a fake for 400 dollars and have it pass for the real thing, and invest money saved into other interests, then theres no point in having the gen.

Seriously, Even if I was filthy stinking rich, I probably would still wear reps. Can I afford a $6,000 watch? Sure. But do I have things I'd rather do with 6K? I'm sure we all do.

For a new member, you're very smart! Amen to that!

    @dabom said:

"For example, I primarily buy reps of Rolexes and Panerais. I like their designs, but I don't like genuine Rolex movements and bracelets, and Panerai's size is a little too big for me to buy a genuine even though they look good on my wrist in photographs."

"I know there are many of you who don't have the same morals, and perhaps to you you think that any free ride is a good ride - well consider if you yourself were an artist and someone was enjoying your work but ripping you off. Or perhaps you aren't an artist and you're just an employee - how would you feel if someone got credit for the work you did, and got a raise ahead of you because of it?"

    @dabom:

How do you think Rolex and Panerai feels that you're buying their Rep'ed product and not buying the GEN?

  14. the PS3 doesnt recognize NTFS? thats crapp

Yup! But I don't see anything wrong with that! I guess they didn't expect people to connect a terabyte external USB Drive to it!

There's a way around it! I just can't remeber the formatting program I used right now!~

  15. Hello all!

I have decided that my next rep will be again a rlx rep but this time i want to do it better. I am planning to buy a SSD and (apart from doing some mods) try to lube and use new rubber gaskets to assure its waterproofness.

So has anyone tried it? What gaskets do i need for SSD ? How many different types? What sizes? (please if u know ..be specific coz i will buy them..)

What about the lubricant? Which one should buy? Where should i apply it on the watch ? Is it better to use silicone?

Well maybe to the.. ''connaisseurs'' my questions sound silly ... (e.g. oil or silicone) but the issue here is how can i assure as much possible the waterproofness of the watch..

    Thanx !

The existing gasket on the SSD will be fine. The gasket might be dry though. You can get silicon grease at Ofrei. Don't use anything else as it may breakdown the rubber.

    Grease Link at Ofrei

There's a gasket lubricator system that is good...there are other gasket greases listed on the page. I get my stuff locally in Toronto. You can also get some at scuba shops for sealing waterproof camera case gaskets.

Get the first two on that link, that's what I use. The FB-900 for the gaskets and the KT-22 for the stems, crowns and pushers! Ofrei also sells a box of several sizes of rubber gaskets. There's like over a hundred of them in it! From the smallest (crowns) to the biggest case set cover!

Good luck! I've been doing the same to all the watches I have and they all are water resistant from 3ATM and up! I just did that to my new BR02 and went swimming with it yesterday....no water problems! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  16. I know what .iso files are but seeing that all my movies are .iso's (dont want to open them all to vob and ifo files) then i need to know if the PS3 will play it

I dont think so, although I haven't tried it! It played all the DVD files I extracted to the the USB drive (750GiG)! BTW: The USB drive must be formatted in

FAT32. It does not recognize NTFS!

  17. The dvd player i bought was US$50, no regrets at all and its region free etc...

Does the PS3 play .iso files from a USB attached HDD?

ISO files are extracted on PCs only! When you connect an external USB drive to the PS3, It basically turns into your

multuimedia storage; i.e. music, video, pictures and games!
