  1. Thought so... What do you guys think this edition will cost?
  2. Did you guys already see this? http://www.iwc.com/de/news/at-home-out-on-the-circuit/ It is going to be presented January 2013. So a long time to wait for a good Rep. Until now I had no feelings for the IWC Ingenieur in general. But I totally fell in love with this version of the new Ingenieur Chronograph Racer: What do you think? Have a nice sunday!
  3. Thanks for the good and fast feedback. But I think this is 100% right: "I've said it countless times here on the forum, guys get head over heels into a project and it ends up costing a lot more than they first budgeted. Later on, if you decide to sell the watch, you are going to find out that while there is a big market for 200-500 USD reps, when you get into the rarified air of the superfranken (1500-6000 USD) you will find that the buyer pool shrinks to the size of a tiny puddle! Just look at the sales forum and see how many of the really wonderful builds languish there for weeks and weeks, sometimes months. Quite frequently, the seller will have to resort to parting out the watch to recoup some of his expenses. Just a word from one who has been there, done that and knows from experience what the costs cane be for a superfranken project.I've got a DRSD 1665 Seadweller that I have probably in excess of 3500 USD in, if you count everything including postage and insurance to send the watch back and forth several times to my watchmaker when I wanted to change something, add something or get some problems straightened out." You have to be careful and always look at the costs. I already have everything from TC for this Sub + Gen crown, tube, insert, pearl. Some money for mods like custom shaving the TC bracelet to fit the TC case and so on. It is so close to the gen. And I am just somewhere above 1000€. Going up to almost 2500 Euro is nonsense since the gen gets so close for the price. I think 30% of the gen price should be the maximum.
  4. I already have superlumed hands. Wanted to go more GEN. So where can I get a GEN 3135 movement?
  5. Thanks for the fast answer! To bad. Can someone else confirm this?
  6. Dear watch addicted, I hope you can help me. I have a Franken TC Submariner 16610 with an Gen ETA 2824. I would like to buy a Gen dial and Gen hands. For what do I have to look? Any advices? Thanks a lot!!
  7. Update!! Time to install the real ETA 2836-1 with the awesome engraved bridges and so on. Freshly serviced by FineDD. For more detail pictures of the engravings and so on please scroll up. Next we have the brand new TC LV dial. And installed with the GEN crystal, GEN insert, GEN pearl, GEN crown and the latest 100% correct date wheel. And here the results of the full service for the movement. What do you think? Next will be the TC bracelet and of course I will post some wrist shots.
  8. Nope. This one is a real ETA with very unique bridges and so on. The brandings are milled. This is unique and special says my watchsmith. Thats why it is beeing 100% repaired and serviced.
  9. Looks good! Though there seems to be a bit difference between dial and hands lume. Thats why I let my watchsmith relume everything Take a look at my lume pics. What do you think?
  10. Nobody said it is a real Rolex movement. BUT it is a real ETA - Not a clone. Ask every watchsmith in the world: if you can decide between a bad ETA clone or reparing an real ETA he will always pick the original. Regarding the hight: this one fits juts perfect. I can post some pictures soon. BTW: the ETA was just repaired and (quote of the watchsmith) "the gear has very precise values".
  11. The TC dial and bracelet arrived already and I will post some pictures. But looked at these pictures. The broken movement in the watch is a real 2836-1!!! Awesome? It is already being repaired and serviced. Lucky me!
  12. 100% mate. Might be the next step in future. But I have 3 further projects now. And this is so damn close now. One of my daily beauties.
  13. Thanks! But did you declare a value?
  14. The LEC is not easy to see. Only from this direction with the right light.
  15. Yes, mate!! Welcome to the Franken Big Pilot Club. Looks beautiful! The GEN dial shows off so good under the double side ARed crystal, right? So happy the I decided to take the double AR too. You have a lume shoot too?
  16. If the parcel was send from US to UK and it states 80$ Watch repair does that mean a higher risk or was it a good idea?
  17. Sad story! Wish you the best and that you do not have to do that:
  18. 100% agree. Was a good thing to change it and I dont regret it at all!!
  19. So claiming it was a watch repair worth 50$ would work out? Directly to Germany or still better first to UK?
  20. So still when I send it not directly from the US to Germany but to UK I can have trouble?
  21. Hi, I hope you can help me. The problem: I need a fast solution. I have my hands on two very beautiful watches. Everything is the way I always wanted it. But they are located in the US and I am in Germany. I searched the forums, called friends and asked around - I dont find the best way to do it. This thread is quite interesting but does not help me a 100%: I also have a contact in UK. So if this helps? But how do I send the best way? Please help me!! Thanks!
  22. Thank you very much. Yes Uwe did an awesome job! 100% right. With the double side AR the GEN dial just looks perfect.
