  1. Hi guys I ended up finding both the eta date and day wheels, white text on black wheels from www.watchpart.co.uk . It took a good few weeks for them to get them in stock but all is good and got them through the door today. They were £21 including delivery for both. I'm in uk so postage wasn't expensive. Hope this helps cheers Ry
  2. I'll try shorten it by another thread and see what happens. I've got 2 stems if it all goes wrong.
  3. Cheers for advise importr. The issue I've got is when I screw crown back onto tube after setting time it looks as if something is operating( can see cog turning from rear of movement if I were to have back off) think it looks and sounds like its manual winding? Not 100% sure. feel very slight tension and sounds like its winding up movement. I'll post a pic up later if I get a mo and point out the cog that's winding as I tighten crown.
  4. Right I re glued the stem yesterday with chemical metal and put the watch back together. So far the tube is staying where it should. Crown tightens down ok but my only concern is when you tighten the crown onto the tube it does tighten down but it still manual winds the watch! You can see a gear turning from the back of the movement and you can hear very slight clicking/winding sort of noise! Hope this isn't going to damage my movement! I'm guessing this is just manually winding my watch as I tighten crown? this will have to do until I after Christmas as funds are against me at the moment. Then I'll send to zigmeister for correct fitment if offer is still available.
  5. Cheers Zigmeister wish I had a lathe! I'm guessing it's quite expensive to get you to machine fit a gen tube? Thankyou very much for the advise though. It's appreciated but like most of us it's money and tools most lack when trying to mod our watches and we have to try the cheaper route first.
  6. What glu did you use could you post a link. As I tried chemical metal which is metal like glue with yellow hardener . It felt solid when it was dry but soon as I tightened crown it pulled the tube off the case. Wish the case was big enough to tap a thread and fit the tube like gen . You'll have to post up some pics of your watch as you put it together. Good to see other projects.
  7. Hope it works for yours buddy. Might just be my stem as I have had several issues with all the keyless works already. I really hope my tube sticks this time. I'm not very confident.did you just put the glue on the threads and a little in the hole?
  8. Lol the way this modding is going I think I'll just buy a gen! Tried fitting the gen tube but it won't stick very well to the case and came unstuck when I screwed the crown in. Not sure what to do. I bonded it with chemical metal which I was told works well.
  9. That's what I thought last time I stuck on the tube. It felt lovely when you screw the crown onto the tube when there is no movement in the case. Hope it sticks this time or I'm not sure what I'm going to do. Wish I had never tried this mod as so far it's making my watch a worry every time I'll set the time and it shouldn't be like that.
  10. Thats exactly what I thought about getting the tube out. Quite a worrying mod if you havnt done anything like this before.especially when the watch is only a week old and Ive only worn it once due to the problems I've had with it. i thought the Same regarding the glue on the internal thread.i was worried about getting glue in there. Did your gen tube stick ok? And did you have any problems once your watch was back together ie screwing in the crown? It's as if the stem and crown now are too long, as when I'm trying to screw in the crown to the tube I can see the watch winding.(When the case back is still off) Cheers Ryan
  11. It's not going well with this mod for me.... I eventually removed the old tube and slightly damaged my watch in the process, I then cleaned the hole where the tube was with a small rat tail file. I used chemical metal in the end, bonded it over night. Felt ok until I put the watch back together and the new crown wouldn't screw into the tube????? Must be a stem issue, after rebuilding the keyless works 3 times and rebuilding the watch I changed the stem, now it screwed in once then the tube snapped off! So now I've had to bond again. Not looking very promising. Does anyone know a better way to bond the gen tube as this doesn't seem to be working.cheers Ryan
  12. Happy thanksgiving all, wish uk celebrated this day! Have a great day Ry
  13. Cheers I'll set the length of the new stem to the rep stem and crown removed. Thanks for the advice much appreciated
  14. Thanks again buddy just bought some chemical metal and some lock tight. Will carry out the upgrade at the weekend, would you use lock tight to bond crown to stem or just a tiny blob of superglue? Cheers
  15. Thanks mate for the great step by step advise, with regards to applying lock tight do you mean putting a thin layer around the tube from the inside of the case? And is this purely for sealing case or does it help stick the tube to the case? Thanks Ryan
  16. Cheers for the part numbers bamcky I received them in the post today from cousins. Going to fit the parts the weekend.
  17. Cheers buddy I'll try view the link on my mac later as the iPad doesn't have flash player so the link won't work. Thanks anyway
  18. Hi guys I got my gen crown tube and new stem in the post today and probably gonna install it this weekend on my upo 45mm If I get a few hours. Just after a bit of advise in removing the old tube. I've seen a few topics regarding the mod but was wondering if there is a good way of removing it without any damage to case. I've got some araldite to re fit the gen tube as I realise the case isn't threaded like gen case. The rest of the mod seems straight forward. One other thing i thought of is, if i araldite the gen tube to the case and in the future the thread happen to strip( which i hope wont)will the tube be easily removed?Any advise would be great.Cheers in advance.ry
  19. Cheers buddy, I've just received my gen crown and tube today and waiting on new stem. What are jmb setting tools? Do you have a link to a website. I did search on google but had no joy.cheers again
  20. Cheers txcollector, I'm still very new to all these parts, which part is the clutch and pinion.sorry for the novice questions.Maybe I'll scout the net and look for a breakdown in parts of the movement . Thanks for the comments and advice much appreciated.
  21. Hi importr That sounds like a very good way to fit hands. I struggled trying to hold the hands with tweezers then push the hands on with the hand setting tool that almost looks like a rod with a nylon tip on each end. I will deffinatly try your way next time as sounds less frustrating! Cheers Ryan
  22. Cheers mate next I'm gonna fit gen tube/ crown and get the tools out!
  23. Thanks for the advise buddy I'll look out for a mat.makes sense about dust fibres ect. Cheers Cheers jkay
