  1. Both AD´s were not official Omega resellers. I also had removed the part of the bracelet I wanted to resize from the watch. So I don´t think they even knew what kind of bracelet it was. And it was scary to use force on the link. But I already excepted the fact that I had to buy a new bracelet. So I got nothing to loose... I used 2 nippers (don´t know if that´s the right word) on the link, which I protected with a tissue. Then I bent and rotated the link, the screw broke and the link came off. Not a very intelligent solution, but fortunately it worked
  2. Thnx for the tips! However, since I had nothing too loose - except for buying a new bracelet, which I would have to do anyway - I used some old fashioned don´t-try-this-at-home-folks brutal force and broke off one link. Fortunately without damaging the other links... Perfect fit and I´m happy with my new watch! In the end this story shows that your local AD not necessarily have to be the professional that you think he would be..
  3. My Link Chrono with new Asian 7750 movement has the same awefull ggggggrrrrrrrr sound. Most members in this thread are of the opinion that all 7750´s - either Asian or Swiss - make a wwwrrrr sound. So today I went to the AD to finally sort it out for myself. I tried on a gen Link Chrono. It DID make a sound while moving. But very nicely and not that loud. I could also feel the vibrations of the spinning rotor. It made me happy Back home I put the rep on my wrist and moved it. OMG, this sounded indeed like a meat grinder. Completely different sound and 10 times louder. So this makes me think that maybe there are quality differences in the new Asian 7750 and I have probably a bad one.... That means either having it serviced or perhaps replacing it for a gen ETA 7750 + new hands. Just my 2 cents...
  4. Yesterday I tried to resize the bracelet of my new arrived SMP (bracelet with screws). I got 2 links out with a precicion screwdriver, but the next 2 screws where too tight and I didn´t wanna force it. So I took it to an AD, but he also didn´t succeed. Brought it to another AD, who really messed up. Now the screws are so damaged that I´m never able to get it out. I think they even used a small hammer and as a consequence the side of the links are scratched.... Since I have a very thin wrist, I really need to get another link out or it won´t fit... Any suggestions besides getting a new bracelet?
  5. Hi everybody, Just bought a SMP from one of our respected dealers. So I looked for pics on the internet to examine the dial. It occurs to me that there are several dial versions: 1. bright blue dial, silver lines around the lumed hour markers and wave patterns easily noticeable 2. dark blue/almost black, white lines around the lumed hour markers and wave patterns very hard to see without decent light Mine appears to be #2. However, my observation can be totally wrong due to photoshop and photographic lighting. Please help me out on this..
  6. Very, very nice pics! I think I'm going to mod mine as well. At first I didn't notice the slightly off position of the 'L SWISS MADE L'. But since I know, I see it everytime. Yours look very nice! Cheers!

Very nice pics!! What a beautiful watch! Unfortunately it seems to me that the word ´Schaffhausen´ is not correctly outlined. It looks bigger than in the gen pic. But that´s a minor detail I can live with. Just waiting for my EU dealer to have the white dial version in stock... Can´t wait to read the review, though....
  8. Happy New Year my fellow Dutchman! How lovely to see the green of the bezel matching the green of the Heineken bottle, LOL. Cheers, Patrick
  9. Happy new year everybody! I bought the Link Chrono a couple of weeks ago. A beautiful piece of work! Don´t mind the date wheel issue that much. However, what strikes me more is that the rotor (new Asian 7750) makes an incredibly loud noise. I don´t know if this is common to all new 7750´s or that this is just a single incident. But to me this aweful sound feels like a big giveaway... People can hear me moving my wrist even when standing at the other side of the room. Anyway, The Zigmeister told me he can change the Asian 7750 for a real 7750, but then the hands need to be changed as well. So in the end there´s a solution to the problem.... Cheers!
  10. Do you mean the holes are too small or something? But those would not look like gen Link hands, would they? . Does the Link has the old Asian 7750 or the new or does it differ from watch to watch (bought mine last week from PT)? Questions, questions....
  11. Hmmm, so the movement swap is not going to work on a Link? Guess I have to look for another way to make the rotor less noisier...
  12. Just bought the TAG Heuer Link Chrono as reviewed by By-Tor. It´s a beautiful peace of art and very accurate in the details. However, though I don´t mind hearing the rotor a bit - it´s also common for gens- this Asian 7750 is very, very noisy. Anyone knows if it´s possible to replace the movement with the ETA 7750? Will it fit in the case and are the dial spacings correct? Thnx!
