  1. The blue version at the AD looked exactly like your pic. It's the 'mushroom' version that seems to be different .... Still love this blue version. Maybe I should get ...... naaaah.
  2. Can't believe I'm the only one 'worried' here... Although, I prefer the color of our rep over the version I've seen at the AD Let's hope this is an additional color version!
  3. Just inspected a gen grey Link Chrono at the local AD while wearing the rep on my wrist. So I had the change to do a quick comparison. I noticed that the color of the gen dial seems different than the rep dial. The rep is all mushroom (light brown) while the gen dial is actually two toned: the subdials and the outer bezel ring are mushroom, but the rest of the dial is chrome/silver. Is this a new color version or is our
  4. Very nice pics and comparison. Thnx! Did a small AD window comparison today, because I was curious if the
  5. @admin: I have the same problem. Getting this message everytime: "Upload failed. Please ask the administrator to ensure the uploads directory is writeable"
  6. Hmmm, guess it's still Link Chrono week for me (can't upload pics anymore... strange..)
  7. He is really going to kill me if I call him an old guy, hahaha. But thnx for the tip!
  8. ........ wearing a $ 20,- plastic ladies size watch!!! He doesn't care about a watch at all as long as it tells time. But I felt I had to do something, hahaha. So I gave him my D&G dress watch. It looks great on him and at least my first gen stays in the family... Wear it wel, dad!!
  9. TH Link Chrono. @by-tor: bought this awesome beauty inspired by your great review. Thnx again!
  10. count me in with 3 + 1 in backorder = 4 + 2594 = 2598
  11. Thnx! I found it on Amazon as a 'unisex' watch. That's why it is probably a bit bigger than a ladies size. Don't think I'm going to buy this one...
  12. Hi all, I´m planning buying the ´Gucci Mini-G´for my gf: http://watchwindersworld.com/gu10003-mini-...iss-p-2222.html. Anybody here bought this one as well? How is the quality and how accurate is it?
  13. You opinion is certainly appreciated! That's the beauty of this forum. Everybody can have his opinion and should. And from an economical point of view the mods I did are probably too expensive for what the rep is worth. Especially when you take into consideration that you can buy a used gen SMP for about E 900,- or maybe less. But modding is just fun to do... Cheers!
  14. I added a personal disclaimer.. But it's good to stick to the facts in this thread.
  15. I agree, that's why I explicitly stated that this is my assumption and therefore I buy from EU based dealers. But let me know if my assumption clutter the facts. I will be happy to edit my post.
  16. If they allow you as a traveler to bring 3 reps in your bagage, I would assume when you buy from internet it will be 3 pieces per order. But I can't find that stated anywhere. That's why I order my reps with EU based dealers. However, the link I posted is based on an official Customs notification. edit: importing/exporting is not allowed. See post 107
  17. Please PM me too. I live near Utrecht, but Rotterdam or Amsterdam will be close enough.
  18. Fellow Dutchmen please read http://www.jurofoon.nl/nieuws/weblog.asp?id=2670. In the Netherlands officially it is not allowed to import any replicated goods. However, customs allow you to bring a maximum of 3 replicated goods of different categories (i.d. 3 rep cloths + 3 rep watches + 3 rep DVD´s etc..) in your bagage. Having more will risk you a fine and confiscation of all goods. [Note: this is not a fact, but my assumption] I can´t find any legal information on importing goods through internet, but I expect that the same amount will be allowed. edit: Importing/exporting is not allowed at all. See post 107
  19. Thnx Canon Pinion! This was exactly my point. For me the rep dial was really looking cheap. I didn´t enjoy this rep at all. Now that I replaced the dial and hands for gen parts, it has become a very nice quality looking watch. That is what makes me happy! And of course the fact that in the end I succeeded in my first mod after first messing up a set of gen hands and damaging the keyless work of the original movement, hahaha.

  21. Thnx guys! This is the dial I ordered: http://www.cousinsuk.com/default.aspx?disp...roductid=437304 Note that they show the pic of the quartz SMP Dial. However, the part is for the Automatic version. To be sure check with them before you order. These are the hour and minute hands: http://www.cousinsuk.com/default.aspx?disp...roductid=437305 And the seconds hand: http://www.cousinsuk.com/default.aspx?disp...roductid=437306 I don´t wanna go into the discussion of the accuracy of the HEV, the pearl, the crown and crown guards.. As a newbie, frankly, I don´t care. Most of the people won´t even know how a gen looks. Let alone know these flaws.. However, the quality of the dial printing on my rep (bought recently from one of our dealers) was noticeably poor. Even for the untrained eye. Maybe there are different qualities of reps between our dealers. I dunno.... Anyway, I´m a very happy guy now. Not in the last place because this was my first mod
  22. Bought it at Cousins (UK). For the US you need to be at Ofrei.
