  1. Ok, thnx! So I guess this little project is done. Long live the next one!
  2. Ok, I've lost you on this one, haha. Are you saying that the complete gen bezel/insert fits my SMP, but that the gen insert won't fit on the rep bezel? How do you secure the ratchet on the case? On the rep it's a pin that fits in the small hole of the case. Is that different on a gen bezel?
  3. Thnx! Just put the old insert back...
  4. Uhm, that's exactly where I bought mine from, hahaha. Oh well...
  5. Congrats! I'm also 36, but consider myself 26 + 120 months. But I keep forgetting that last part. Cheers!
  6. So which of the inserts come closer to the gen: the rep insert (post#1) or the aftermarket insert? Or none ? The color of the blue differs also. The aftermarket is very dark blue and the rep is a bit lighter and more 'greenish blue'.
  7. I know the whole bezel won't fit, but if I'd take off the insert and put it on the rep bezel? Only curious, 'cause it's not cost effective and I'll probably not going to do it.
  8. I already cancelled the parade and the afterparty... So any chance I can find a good aftermarket insert without needing to buy the complete gen bezel?
  9. The exitement is fading away... I might put the old insert back on the bezel. Anyway, this is all part of the modding proces. Win some.. loose some..
  10. Ok, thnx for explaning! So where did you buy your insert or did you buy a complete gen bezel and took off the insert?
  11. The blue color of my insert also seems a bit darker than the insert from your pic... Oh well, then I

  13. Oh boy, help me out. What am I missing?
  14. E 195,- for the rep E 35,- for the hands E 85,- for the dial E 20,- for the insert E 80,- for the ETA 2824-2 So in total E 415,- excluding shipping costs. But since it was my first mod I first messed up a pair of hands and the keyless work on top of it. So I had to re-order a new set of hands and decided to buy a new sealed 2824 as well. Not really necessary, but now I have a movement to experiment with... And since the sealed ETA
  15. Uhm... Why do you think that? Pearl looks good to me. Ordered it through a jeweler store.
  16. To clearify my story: I didn't go the AD with the purpose of showing off my rep. I only went in to see a new watch and didn't see a problem with wearing a rep under my sleeve. But then I wasn't thinking when I asked to try the new watch on and consequently had to take off my rep. So this guy started complimenting me about the SMP and I - stupid, stupid, stupid - admitted it was a rep. If he hadn't say anything about it I wouldn't have told him it was a rep. Afterwards I was so surprised about their reaction that I posted this thread.... So what did I really learn from it? NEVER TAKE OFF A REP AT THE AD AND NEVER EVER TELL THEM IT'S A REP. It's in our best interest to keep our hobby underground by keeping a low profile. Let this thread be educational to new members who in their enthusiasm think they should do the same as I did....
  17. O boy, this thread keeps haunting me... I already came to the conclusion that it was very ignorant to do and I
  18. Maybe we should update the forum etiquette: - no use of personal names - no topics or reference to l@w and cust#ms - no more stories about "I've been to an AD and showed my rep" (Did it once myself, but learned from it..) - no direct reference to sites of dealers. Only through PM. - no posting of rep pics at TZ etc.etc. Let's keep this hobby alive by staying underground....
  19. Wow, another excellent review. How did I miss this?! We must consider ourselves very lucky with members writing these inspiring reviews!
  20. Did you wind it clockwise (correct) or counter-clockwise (clicking sound and not winding)?
  21. I guess this will be the answer to
