For me today my gen Lorenz Theatro: @ Ms V: this 'rattlesnake' strap is awesome! However, the AP might look better on your BF's wrist... @ Stephane: This should definitely be a keeper. What is your wrist size by the way? @ Ximenes: every day a new difficult decision to make....

How do I split a 111h sandwich dial?
scoobs1971 replied to scoobs1971's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
anyone? -
The white dial rings are a bit too width and touch the 6 and 12. On the gen there's a small gap in between. Also the date font is sometimes not perfectly alligned like most out of the box Tags with A7750. Other than that I think it's a beauty! I don't know if the bezel should be polished or brushed. On the brochure pic it looks polished..

Just bought a new dial from Davidsen. Unfortunately the 3, 6 and 12 font are way too big (and L SWISS L is moved back to the 6!), but the lume is great. So I can either send it back to Davidsen and get a refund OR I split the dial from the back and glue the front of my original dial on the superlumed Davidsen back. Can I split these sandwich dials without damaging the lume or dial? What tool is the best for the job? Thnx!

That's inspiring. So if I'd cut my liquor expenses with 50% .... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Nah, hahahaha Happy saving and enjoy your collection

Thnx for this very informing reply! I really like that first limited prototype model because it is a very plain and elegant design. The other dials look a bit busy to me. However, altough these watches are wonderful to look at, I couldn't get away wearing any watch the price of a PP or VC....

Monsieur Stephane, enjoy your new acquisition! But this addiction is getting very serious now. How many reps do you own???

For me today my PAM089 with black BOB-strap. Still haven't made pics... Wow, that watch/strap combination is awesome!! Were did you get this strap? @vbarrett: That Omega is a very stylish classic! -
Breitlings are not among my favorites, but this picture is awesome!

Merci beaucoup monsieur Stephane Your 'Pugwashed' 3717 is also a real beauty and on top of my next to buy list....

I really love this one! However, I can't seem to find pics of a gen on the PP-site or with Google. Is this a fantasy watch?

Oris gen time this weekend:

Based on the offwhite font, the lower L SWISS MADE L, the shape of the 2, 3 and 6 I would say his could be a gen. But to be shure I would verify the serial number on the the watch and the documents with Panerai.

Good lord! You've been really bitten by the compulsive-obsessive rep collectors desease! But, I'm still missing a GMT (PAM089?) and chrono (PAM212/253?) in your collection.......... Would look lovely on a nice ladies' wrist Love your new avattar, by the way!
-
@bazz: this PAM is not among my favorites, but with this strap... Wow!

Don't know if they are all decently repped, but wouldn't keep these pics from this topic:) (edit) Vacheron Malte Chronograph http://www.perfectclones88.com/vc10014-mal...nos-p-1795.html Looks like the dial spacing is too wide and the 3 and 9 dots are missing. But if you can live with that, the rep doesn't look too bad. Tough, I would prefer a black strap..

"Officially" (in the end it's a matter of personal taste and 'style') for a dress watch you need a watch on a leather strap and one that is not too big and bulky. Defintely no SS bracelet. For busines purposes one with no compilcations except for day, date and perhaps a modest chronograph or power reserve (no perpetual calendars, tourbillions, moonphase etc.). More is less in this case. Outside the business environment you can go for the ones with the bigger complications. A classic one is the Patek Philippe Calatrava: http://www.perfectclones88.com/pp10091-cal...hite-p-686.html Or what about this chrono Calatrava? http://www.perfectclones88.com/pp10026-cla...nos-p-1543.html Other brands like A Lange & Sohn, Chronoswiss, Glasshutte, Breguet, Blancpain and Vacheron Constatin have lots of variations on this classic model. Another classic if it fits your 'style' would be the Cartier Santos: http://www.perfectclones88.com/cars10005-s...del-p-1086.html A modern classic dress watch would be the IWC Portuguese: http://www.perfectclones88.com/iw10027-jon...tas-p-1489.html Or the Jaeger LeCoultre Master: http://www.perfectclones88.com/jl10001-mas...242-p-2910.html A Jaeger LeCoultre Master Reserve: http://www.perfectclones88.com/jl10003-mas...rve-p-1046.html And only if you're James Bond you can get away with the Omega SMP as a formal dress watch

Blue Link Chrono definitely. However, be careful of the grey version of which the dial color seems to differ a bit from the gen. There's also a good black polished bezel version with the tachymetre scale on the dial. Make sure you get the one with the better date font.
-
I'm considering buying Davidsen's new dial and have the same question. Also curious to know what our PAM experts think of the font. To me it seems a little thin, but I'm not sure.
-
If I'd had the money I would buy any of these or maybe all... - PAM00214 Radiomir Chrono - Tag Heuer Monaco Chrono - Jaeger LeCoultre Master Compressor - Jaeger LeCoultre Master Hometime - IWC Spitfire Double Chronograph

Nice pics, especially the 111h with Gordon's What strap is that?
