  1. the gen hands from a 2531.80 model (the earlier gen with printed dial) would be too short, however, if you go for the gen hands from a 2220.80 model seamaster (the gen with applied markers and red seamaster lettering) the hands would be correct length-when they updated the design in 2006 they made the hands longer. the 2220.80 and its black sister model were with the wave pattern dials, but the blue model had green lume and the black had blue lume...so... if you got a set from both, you could have a gen hour hand with blue lume and gen minute hand with green lume... the case number for these is 168.1504 if you wanna look em up on ofrei/cousinsuk, problem is you would have fantastic lume on the hands and not so fantastic on the markers...you could get the dial relumed to match though... I recently got 2 of these ceramic seamasters, one im using for parts for a planet ocean project, the other im gonna mod (aiming for a gen crystal from a 42mm planet ocean as its same diameter and some other bits and pieces...) im snowed under with work right now, but I will do a thread on everything im up to in the next few weeks. *a quick note on the bezel pearl...as seen the pearl sticks out too much, I took a small screwdriver with rubber handle, using the rubber end, apply pressue to the pearl and it will push it deeper into the insert and sit flush with it...just be careful not to push it too far...
  2. how many links do you need for the c60 mike? I have a spare bracelet from mine, your more than welcome to have the links, just send me a PM and i'll sort it...
  3. agreed, its a gorgeous size for this watch, whenever ive tried the 41mm on it seems to wear a lot bigger due to the lack of a bezel...the blue or grey id love, so add me on this list!
  4. how much your budget is would help..., if its a first ever watch, id consider something gen from Seiko...a Seiko 5 auto, skx009 or 007 etc...very cheap but fantastic watches backed up by a gen warranty...if it has to be a rep, a dg4813 version planet ocean is pretty spot on...again though knowing the budget will get you more suggestions, also don't take this the wrong way, but as has been said, don't just get one to make people think your something your not, a $100 Seiko will serve you a lot better than a $100 rep...
  5. when I had my grey dial wolf last year I had it pressure tested...it passed 100m no probs (the highest the machine could go) and that was straight from the box...they are fine reps, very accurate as is...agreed on the bracelet clasp being abit "off" so I had mine on a pro1 rubber strap-big bold watch, big bold strap with breitling emblazended across it! I can see the 12 marker is ever so slightly off center...didn't you ask for a further qc pic of the dial front on but the td said no? you may have caught that if you had been given the extra pic...I hope the front on pic (which you pretty much always get in the qc process) wasn't left out on purpose... anyway, fantastic piece you have there regardless! always loved these, I mean what a fantastic name for a watch- "the seawolf"!! named after a submarine I believe? wear it well buddy!
  6. just found this in omega forum http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/158504-boxtags-warranty-card-question/ last post is from this very guy offering the same...he claims to value watches for insurance purpouses etc, and claims a massive knowledge of makes and models...yet on a thread about the ceramic planet ocean he stated that omegas have never had display casebacks...ummmm...some expert, something smells abit whiffy with this guy...
  7. ahhhh thats rotating the movement and case and leaving the dial in its original place (pic above)...the OP stated he wanted to rotate the case AND face (i presumed by face he ment dial) 180 degrees, which would put the date window at 9 o'clock along with the crown...meaning the date would've been upside down...if its as in the pic then yes-good to go!
  8. yes, but if you rotate just the dial on the movement the date window of the dial would be at 9 o'clock if you rotate it 180 degrees...so you wouldnt see the date at 3 o'clock anymore, you would see it at 9 o'clock...if on the other hand you rotate just the movement and not the dial, that would keep dial and date window in same place at 3 and put the crown at 9 like you want, but the watch would hand wind by turning the crown towards you instead of away from you...as the crown would be on the opposite side...so i guess that would work!
  9. i dont see a fat omega logo on that one...looks pretty much spot on for that model, ive had a few of these and they are very good reps... yes there is a difference in date fonts, just search for some pics of different versions and compare, you will see the difference.
  10. its not about the date changing at midnight, its the fact the numbers will be upside down at the 9 o'clock position when you rotate the dial...think about it, the date at 3 o'clock is the correct way up....put that same date the opposite side and its upside down...for a date at 9, you just need a new date wheel with the numbers reversed called a date at 9 wheel...to keep the rolex style font you will also need an date at 9 overlay (which im not sure exsists...) unless your happy with the standard eta font...why the need to have crown at 9 anyway? could just wear it on your right wrist regardless and save yourself the hassle...
  11. it is not possible, the gen hands only fit on the a2824-2 and eta 2824-2 movements...so pay the bit more if you wanna go that route. however the lume is very good for a rep if thats what your worried about, heres a pic of the one i had
  12. cheers sgt, its more of a functional improvement for me...just so happens it looks cool at the same time! its a subtle change that not many would notice unless you point it out which i guess is why it works and looks "right" its a great custom build if you have it in mind though, well worth doing.
  13. you'll need to swap the date wheel too if you go for a destro layout...outherwise the date will be upside down...you can get eta date wheels for date window at 9, so no big problem...pretty cheap too.
  14. well i just ordered the ploprof clasp for the mesh, special order item though so gotta wait for it the blue lume seamaster hands will arrive tomorrow though! i was gonna replace all the hands, but i think i'll just do the minute hand...going for the green/blue double lume colour of the new smps and PO's etc...pics when ive done it all!
  15. expensive custom build though, the bracelet, bezel and crystal came to over £600...but worth it to get the look and function i wanted. the crystal gives the "disappearing crystal" effect at certain angles which is very cool with the dial...and despite the mods, it still retains the look and feel of the seamaster pro...as a side note, the crystal sits higher than the standard smp bezel, and the PO bezel higher than the smp crystal...so the mod has to be done together (change both bezel and crystal) to keep a sleek look. the smp insert is the only part that needed modding by fileing off the inner lip to fit the PO bezel...thats it though, everything else was a straight drop in replacement.
  16. thanks guys, if i can mod a watch-even gen-to fit a purpous i need it for i will! found the info by searching google...on the images for seamaster 300m, i noticed a pic that had the black 2254 model with a planet ocean bezel insert...or so i thought, when i read the thread on WUS it actually had the entire bezel assembly, i then thought that if that fitted surely the crystal should too as its the same diameter...so i search "PO crystal in smp case" etc and found some info...after reading through and confirming i commited to the custom build, and this was the result...research first people! the net is a big place and chances are if youve thought of something-someone else may have already done it! ofcourse my quartz seamaster i used was well out of warranty etc so i didnt mind going ahead, plus the quartz is easy to work on anyway in service terms-i wouldnt have gone ahead with this on my co-axial model... the next customization i have in mind for this watch is the blue lume hour/minute/seconds hand from the black smp quartz (to give it the blue/green lume combo of the new smp ceramics, and also the ploprof deployment clasp for the mesh bracelet...
  17. great to know its ceramic, the orange is defo steel, gen and rep...i know ive said it before lol but if you look at the listing of it on the TD's websites it clearly states "orange steel diving bezel" its a shame, but i guess the orange colour was difficult to achieve in ceramic form maybe for both gen and rep...? still gotta have love for the pumpkin! always been my fave colour choice and to me-the colour the planet ocean is known for...
  18. ive worn a seamaster 300m in some form or other for almost 10 years now, be it automatic, quartz, blue, black, rep, gen etc i have a big love of this watch. of all the situations i like to wear my watches in (shallow diving, hiking, climbing etc) the seamaster was often left behind though in favour of my g-shock or seiko skx009...i always wanted the seamaster on my wrist for these, but, there were a few niggles that always put me off, niggles which alot of others have stated too...mostly the scalloped bezel and lack of AR on the outside of the crystal. the bezel was almost impossible to rotate when wet-not good whilst diving/swimming to time incoming/outgoing tides (i rarely do scuba diving so timeing for air isnt an issue...) or while out in all weather to time waypoints on a map to keep pace etc...ok the AR isnt really an issue, but it does pic up ALOT of glare indoors or on cloudy days...so i searched on google for some ideas... what i found was that the planet ocean 42mm crystal fitted the smp case-with the use of the smp gasket, and also that the 42mm planet ocean bezel was a direct swap without modification...the smp insert though needed the inner lip filed off to fit the PO bezel ring...(note to newbies-see, searching will give you all the answers!) so online i go to cousinsuk and order the crystal, bezel, and while i was at it new caseback gasket, crystal gasket and battery...a day later they arrived...and 2 hours later it was finished...believe me-customizing gen watches with gen manufacturer parts is SOOOO much easier than reps! below is the result, the whole watch now has more presence on the wrist, more "built" so to say, the waves on the dial have alot more pop to them too due to the crystal...the watch is also now functional bezel wise while wet, the crystal is incredible and the whole watch still looks "factory built", it will probs be my go to watch for the summer...i tried it on a hirsch heavy calf strap, but the the new harder image of the watch i think will suit a carbon strap more...so i then mounted the watch to an omega 20mm mesh bracelet to add that tool like look, overall, im very very pleased with the outcome...anyway pics say more so take a look below, comments and critics welcome, enjoy!
  19. +1 search ebay, theres usually a few on there, just make sure the ones on ebay are actually gen and not rep ones being sold on! although tbh who wears a box? unless you wanna display a watch on a shelf etc they are pretty much just nice packaging...
  20. while i was out yesterday i popped into an AD, handled the pumpkin 45...and pretty much as i got home ordered the 45 pumpkin rep! to say it pops is an understatement! its a killer look, i'll probs matt coat the bezel insert when it arrives as the gen does have quite a matt look to it-it is steel too, i asked lol the orange numbers almost look electric on the dial, different and stunning...go orange! i have the older 22mm black PO rubber strap im gonna try it on too...pics in a week or 2 when i get it...
  21. nice one flipping it indy! are you gonna order the updated version? im at the point now where im glad i waited....and now want one...but do i need one
  22. +1 the blue Ti model should indeed have the liquid metal engraving, so if its on your blue one in qc pics its correct
  23. the gen orange bezel is definatley steel, its on the omega website in the specs i think and also in some marketing brochures, gen forums have confirmed it also. its the black bezels which are ceramic on gen, on the blue Ti model its ceramic and the silver numbers are infilled with the liquid metal technology...
  24. agreed, i think thats the wording though..."scratch resistant" they never say its totally scratchproof...same as water resistant and not waterproof etc...
  25. any version with the asian 2824-2 or eta 2824-2 will be the most up to date v5 version...
