Well please excuse me for my ignorance. It seems just when I thought the government had ran out of ways to nickle and dime people im proven wrong again.

All im trying to say here is this outrageous and If Rolex thinks their customer are going to want to deal with this then WOW! I see at least one GMT MASTER every time I go to the airport whether its a business man or a pilot they never seem to get stopped.

I'm going to Toronto next summer. I'm going to make sure I'm wearing my gen and if im asked about my watch I will demand to speak to a lawyer. I wonder does Rolex tell their customers not to wear their watches abroad as they might have them confiscated and taxed. If there making more than 10 dollars a hour thats BS too. I live in a state where the average starting salary for a college grad is $21k to $24 and the average income of a college grad is only $36000. Please don't tell me that we are going to start over paying government employees and under paying our educated work force?

Wow Im reading so much about the dangers of purchasing counterfeited goods. Its not my place to say being a NOOB but I think theres something bigger at play here (the crunch of the middle class). I never see laymen or fast food employees wearing fake watches. Most of the time when I see What I think may be a fake its on the wrist of a professional IE college educated business men. So while I feel for corporate America when it comes to piracy they have to realize that their drive for cheap labor while also driving up the cost of their own goods is partially what fuels this counterfeit market. A steel Rolex Sub cost 25 times what it did 40 years ago.

All right this sounds like BS to me!!!! Theres noway some $7 to $10 dollar a hour customs agent is going to have the gull to ask me if my watch is counterfeit! I mean If im going through customs what are they going to say "excuse me sir could you hand your wrist watch over for closer inspection" I mean come on people.

The official Rolex center in Indianapolis called me on both my gens. First was a circa 79 Tue Tone GMT transitional a year later a circa 73 1680. Both times they said they would take them in but they were probably not authentic. Both times asked me if the watch came from ebay and how much did i pay.They treated me like a second class customer.

I dont know but it sounds like to me that US Customs is looking to cash in on the nearly Billion dollar a year counterfeit watch/hand bag industry. I think that Rolex will eventually find a way to make examples of random unlucky people ( hefty fines). As we all know that in the US political favors / money can manipulate the justice and federal system.
