I would choose the avenger if i had to choose only one. Because its more durable and easier/cheaper to service/repair. I have two bigdate Blackbirds and none of them is close to perfect. The watchmakers willing to service them might be hard to find because of the rare bigdate complication and difficult task to source spare parts.
