  1. I believe you are one of the ten or so watch repair people ive emailed about this Busy these days? Since "people" talk about the keyless to be the source of error when trying to set the date at the wrong position and messing up things i only assumed it was just that. Maybe its more sensitive in some way because of the big date complication. After opening it up and having a quick visual i removed the stem and put it back in. Since i have done this successfully at several occasions on less complicated 7750s when playing with lume i didn't expect it to end up like this. When i put it back in it didn't grab any gear at all, Nothing (maybe its better to blame the assembly personnel ) Here is what it looks like after i messed it up. Some at arrival quick qc photos.
  2. Well. Got the bb and messed up the keyless, bought toros last special one. Only leather on that one. Got it and sent for service. So pics will have to wait. Il se if i find any of the first one before i killed it.
  3. So, What version did you buy? Some random 21j or H-factory or what? I actually had a better bracelet on the cheaper 21j than the asian clone H-factory one. The best of them all is on the noob superocean 44. Not a steelfish but similar bracelet and the best ive seen on a rep. Might be luck but many agree. So post a want to buy in the proper section or get a gen?
  4. Your local watchmaker most likely wont touch reps at all but if its a swiss movement he might because thats what he usually works on.
  5. Im surprised Watchinternational lets you pay with paypal. They usually dont. Many dealers only let trusted buyers use pp. Maybe thats why Andrew wants you to use we. Ask him about the reason?
  6. I decided that the powders i had didn't live up to expectations so i bought a new batch. And while at it i drilled out the old lume on the bezel. One thing bothering me is the second hand that dont have the red painting correctly done on it. I will have to either remove the old paint or just paint it over. I already had the second hand in acetone to remove the lume and the paint still remains. Il do some tests on whats the best compromise.
  7. None anymore as far as i can se and if i understand this correctly the brushed one is not manufactured anymore. I had some doubt about that since the brushed one would have been a very nice combination of bling and rough looks. But since i sold my B01 i need some shine and this will be just fine. I can always make it brushed at a later stage if i need even though it takes some energy. I paid for Toros black $268 version. I am very intruiged by the $100 difference with the bb everybody else sells. Lets hope its just Toro wanting to push his reputation up a big and not a huge difference in a negative way.
  8. Yes, true. The dealer selling @ $268 says he only have the blue dial version available another says he got the black @ 368. Il try to get one of them.
  9. Ive been looking to buy a blackbird for a while now. 2 years or so, Now im getting closer. The two versions available cost $268 and 368$ They have the same specs as far as i can se. Do anybody have a clue about the differences? Maybe its just one dealer trying to get attention and finally time for me to pull the trigger so i can tell you what its all about?
  10. Im tired, having a cup of coffe now. Hopefully i will feel less tired in 10 mins
  11. So. Thanks for the tips! Some mild grinding in the lume and 3 days in acetone was all i needed. Patients is very handy as usual with watches. Now il continue with the preparations for the lume session.
  12. Ok. Thanks. Im just afraid of damaging the tiny polished area around the lume. To polish it again is something i dont want to do. Il give something very sharp a try at it.
  13. Yep. Could be. But i sense that would be more expensive than lower standard rep lume so i find it hard to believe they did that, Could just be the clear coat paint that is though on me.
  14. So, Before wearing my black dial sosf i decided to try to relume the hour markers. Its one of these a21j´s with sapphire crystal and decent quality. Side by side with my h-factory asian clone sosf the lume is one of the weak points on this one. Disassembly was fairly easy, The markers was glued with some not so strong glue so i just pushed from the back and out they popped. Then i had to remove the old lume. Ive done this may times before on hands but not markers like this. I tried all i had at home: Nail polish remover (without acetone) Something i cant translate atm, Google translate wants it to be White gas. Directly translated its "chemically clean petrol" Solvent naphtha Ammonia Red ethanol So is acetone the only way to go or what am i missing?
  15. Skyland avenger is big or huge according to most standards, 45mm. Breitlingsource.com is a good source for your bert needs even though all is here somewhere. When you get used to changing straps its not a big issue on a daily basis but before you get the proper tools and ways you will most likely scratch the lugs quite alot.
  16. And another so44, this time on the ocean racer strap
