By the time your watch has travelled around the world from dealer, its probably been knocked enough to be internally and externally damaged! Please correct me if I am wrong, but the above is not true. You are only paying more for the movement; genuine swiss 7750 vs chinese copy 7750. Quality of the watch and accuarcy wise they are all the same. Am I going to get owned for giving the wrong info? Cheers

Actually, I'd want to take this opportunity to ask about the vintage Daytonas. I've heard a lot of good things about the DW vintage Daytonas, the assym pushers, correct subdials etc... so is there any fault? I think i've read that the hour subdial does not work, is this true? I have only recently learnt to appreciate the beauty of these vintage pieces, way better than the modern daytonas in my opinion. Nanuq and Ubi and other rolex experts I'll love to hear your feedback.

Thanks Pugwash. I tried on the genuine just before, very very nice watch. The face isn't all that big but its a bloody thick watch indeed! The bracelet was nice and solid (as expected!). How is the quality of the bracelet? and I guess how is the overall quality of the watch? (apart from the movement issue obviously). Thanks

@pugwash, hope everything goes well with the repair. 2 quick questions. 1) is it a screw in crown? I just tried on a SS gen 5 mins ago at an AD that that had a screw in crown. 2) how do you size the bracelet? From a quick look at the gen, there are no crew groove on either sides of the bracelet? @Pugwash - are you sayign that the clasp is SS and not titanium? In the gen, it is full Ti right? Doesn't it look funny when a whole bracelet it in titanium but there is one part that is stainless steel? Regarding the stopwatch advancing... thats too bad, anyone else have this issue too?

Just a really quick question, on the dealers' pics I've noticed that one of the last link (the one joining with the clasp) is SS instead of Ti. Is yours like that Pugwash? Anyone knows why? Also, can anyone spot any flaws vs a gen? Thanks.

I asked a dealer regarding its 'swiss ETA2892' as it was about $100 cheaper than anyone elses and was told that it was an 'asian ETA2892'. Thats different right? I guess it pays to check and double check with dealers before you buy.

If you look closely in today’s Melbourne Magazine from The Age, you’ll notice that on the cover Molly Meldrum is wearing a replica Panerai. It is some sort of Luminor with a moon-phase function on rubber. Nasty.

Hi everyone, posted this same question in TWC without too much of a response. Can you guys comment on the below? _____________________________________________________ A totally totally newbie question here, but what does the swan neck regulator do? I am going to take a guess... is it to *regulate* the time and fine tune it? Ie, if the watch is running slow you just push the hand to the + and it speeds it up a sec or two? or is it some kind of power reserve indicator like the genuine 8 days movement? Another question, on the reps, does it swan neck do ANYTHING or just there to look good?
