  1. I was wearing a new suit and the sleeves are a little longer than usual... maybe it didnt stick out like usual. I'll try with a different suit tmw maybe =P
  2. I thought The hour glass was the only AD for PAM in Aust? Late last year Farren Price had a 50% off everything sale, it was in the Financial Review, I live in Melb and wasnt in Syd fr that event but I'd imagine it to be a pretty decent sale =)
  3. looks like a rep to me, the markers look like they are SS instead of black. But what do I know? =)
  4. Maybe he just doesnt like the Avenger! =) I wore my Ti GST today into 3 ADs today and no one said anything. Mind you I was looking at girl watches and hence didn't take mine off to try anything. But actually I find that when I wear my Gen Speedy Pro and takes it off at high end ADs to try other watches, they like to take a really hard look at it and stuff. I'd imagine that they are checking it our to see if it is a gen or a rep cause they sell the bloody thing there! It is not like they haven't seen a speedy pro before! Usually they hand back the watch with a comment like... 'can't go wrong with a classic speedy pro' or something. Wonder if they just assume I wear fakes cause I am youngish?
  5. Yup, only 2 as of this afternoon. I am not sure what the discount is for PAMs at the sale, but in the past I've been told that they don't really offer more than 5% discount for PAMs. regarding there are only 2 in stock, i am not sure if they have been sold out or hidden.... I mean if you are looking for low/middle of range ie oris, omega, tags, ML, longines etc... Hour glass prob not the cheapest even now during the sale. Alot of stores will offer 30% discount if you just ask, i've bought 3 omegas at 30% + 10% (duty free). Let me know if you want the names of these places. Actually, when I walked into the store and asked for 45% off, they nearly laughed at me... hmmmm.... But Mondials last year had 40% off entire omega range, not at the moment though.
  6. Not all that many watches are on sale in Melbourne, it is the usual 'i'll give you best price if you are going to buy today' attitude. But I think 30% of their low/mid range watches are ok. I managed to pick up a nice omega for my gf that was pretty heavily discounted but that was the only omega that had a sale tag. Checked out the Panerais, they only had 2 in stock, a 40mm blue face auto and one of those ugly basic sub ones =p.
  7. The omega symbol looks funny to me... the tails on the symbol curls upwards. This is true on the vintage omegas but the modern omegas have flat tails. Compare the pics yourself. Apart from that the watch looks pretty good.
  8. Molly wears his *moonphase* pam EVERYWHERE! I've seen him sporting it on tv a good few times and in magazine shoots.
  9. As per retep's comment, the subdials are the biggest faults here guys. They should not be so *far out*, if you compare to a gen, the dials are much closer together hence the minute markers on 3 6 9 should be the same length as the other markers. This watch looks more like the speedy automatic, which is a smaller watch but at least the dials are like this rep here. Another thing is that the subdials should be recessed, not sure if this is the case here on the rep. I could be wrong (and please correct me if I am), there are at least 2 versions of the speedy pro, one with the clear caseback and the other with out a clear case back. The clear caseback is made from saphire and so is the cystal where as the *official* speedy pro that does not have a see-throu caseback uses the hesalite crystal (which is like a plastic). The domed hesalite crystal is really cool on the gen and although it does scratches easily, it polish off perfectly without much effort. The reason for the hesalite is because hesalite doesn't shatter like saphire, and it is not a good idea to have broken glass floating around when you are in space. I am not 100% sure if NASA demanded this or it was the original design from Omega but the speedypro without see through caseback still uses the hesalite today. The seethrough caseback was made after the moonlanding, since the caseback was already saphire, i think they made the watch face crystal saphire too. Well, thast my understanding anyway =) cheers
  10. Here is my fav watch. Nothing to do with its value or movement or anything, just looks pretty. Cheers
  11. 23... I always forget my age. No one cares anymore once you are over 18 or 21.
  12. Welcome and rest assure you'll be spending more than hours here mate! Reps are addictive you know. =) Cheers
  13. Welcome back mate. If I lost a rep, just buy a new one in a heartbeat. If I lost my gen, I'll cry for a month, save for a year and buy a new one. Cheers
  14. Quite a lot of Aussies in here huh? Funny cause not many Aussies are into watches? Hmm...
  15. Mine is fine, nothing wrong with it at all.
  16. I think there are a couple of learnings from this. 1) You have to accept the risk that the watch you ordered might be different to the watch your receive. 2) If you do receive something different, contact the dealer directly and wait for their response. 3) Do not [censored], winge, create a big sence or abuse the dealer until you hear from them. Give them a chance to correct their mistake. 4) If you are unhappy with the response or hear no response for longer 1-2 weeks, than you can make a fuss.
  17. Lets not kid ourselves here, a homage is not very different from a rep, especially if you are sourcing it from a rep dealer, hence you are in the rep game. You are on a rep forum for gods sake! You have to get off your moral high horse and stop pretending that just because you are buying a *homage*, you are excluded from the risks in the rep game. Like I said, you are getting it from a reps dealer. If you don't want to take this risk, I'd advise that you cut your loses, pack your bags and get out of the rep game. A famous line here on RWG is that you should never invests in more than what you are willing to lose. No one likes to 'throw their money away', but there is a risk that you take when you decided you don't want to spend $10k on a Pam and want to spend $200 on a rep/homage. In this game/industry/business you win some and you lose some. I do feel sorry for you and I understand that you must be disappointed with your purchase, and you are probably right, the fault is at the dealer/mailer, but calling them morons won't help your case and win you friends.
  18. There is a certain level of risk you have to accept when playing the rep game mate. Pay peanuts and you get monkeys?
  19. Oh my god, the orange one is crazy nice! Incase you didn't check out Virgil Hilts's link. Here it is again http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tre...o=1752278&rid=0 This is what you will be greeted with Hmm..... And in response to ratchpot's comment about no rep Sinn watches: well yes it is true that there are no rep for Sinn, thats because they are pretty cheap to start with. They are only around $1-1.5k new? A second hand watch would be half of that, hardly makes it worthwhile to make a rep. Dont get me wrong, Sinn makes bloody are nice watches! Cheers
  20. My understanding was that the gen is 45-46mm! Hmm.... have to ask josh about the size of this one.
  21. The back seems pretty accurate too until you notice the fake screws.... By the sawy this is a massise watch, 46m i think! 46mmX46mm too cause its a goddam square! so its not for the faint hearted! This watch was introduced late last year and to me its one of the coolest watch out there. Comes in basic model, date model, a chroco and a power reserve model. I think they come in SS or PVD too. Check this PVD with velco! It's a nasty mother! Sorry about all the posts but incase you havent noticed, I am very excited about this watch!!! Looking forward to newer and more accurate models! Cheers
  22. Josh now offers the B&R Instrument watch. http://perfect-clones.com/product_info.php...roducts_id=1050 Josh's Rep 92 But seems like it is a mix/fantasy model between the base BR01-92 model and the date BR01 -96 model. Gen 92 Gen 96 At first glance it is a pretty nice model - flaws I can find are the screws a little too small, crown a little different, obviously the date shouldnt be there if it is the 92 or if it is a 96, it shouldnt say 92 on the dial. Strap is obvisouly the standard rep style. Haven't compared the back as yet but overall pretty nice. I (and A LOT of other ppl) have been waiting for this rep for a long long time now and its glad to see Josh offering this model. Good work and keep them coming. Comments and feedback appreciated! Cheers
  23. Just to end all speculations, there are numerous versions/productions of the conquistador, some have the red paint beyond the arrow and some do not. Black or white, chrono or not. Here are some genuine pics for everyone to compare: http://image.www.rakuten.co.jp/houseki-h/img10591542306.jpeg http://thumbnail.image.rakuten.co.jp/s/?@0...uller/fm010.jpg But note that the ones with the extended red arrow are "arrow" in shape and the other ones are more "triangle" in shape. Hence the version that are sold by Jos/King/Aspire are the "correct" shape. Here is a pic of a gen's case back for those that are interested. The engraving is a lot better than the rep imo. But I guess you can always lie and tell ppl that the engraving was "hand engraved"! =) http://www.rakuten.ne.jp/gold/bluek/img/ma...8005SCSSSLc.jpg Cheers.
