  1. Sql_PL: I tried to PM but your box was full (after looking at your links on this thread I cannot imagine why). What dealer and when did you get the Patek 24? Looks great as I would like to get for the wife. Is this watch close to the gen? Is gen SS or white gold? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
  2. By -Tor: seems as though we've struck a nerve my friend "idiot", "braindead"? Who cares if they want to do so? Maybe things are different in EU. If I had Gen i would wear, but my gen Sieko doen't get me any attention if I want to look at watches. I'l let you all know when I have one confiscated. It should be a humorous story. Unfortunatly, I don;t think it will ever be a story I have to tell.
  3. Great point guys. My final thought is I have no problem wearing a rep of a watch to a AD that is NOT one of the watches they sell. This so I will get service so I end up wearing my Pam alot to the ADs since so few carry them. I just don't htink there is ant threat in US of someone "confiscating" or even confrinting a rep in an AD. He will keep opinion to himself for two reasons 1, doesn't want to lose sale 2, he's not POSITIVE it's a rep. Best play is to wear rep that is not sold in that AD. No worries.
  4. I was just trying to create a fun thread since I would imagine 99% of the members are male. I also think it gets us fired up to get more reps for our ladies! The idea came to me from the other forum,Replica watch Guide. I think the only female poster in there gave me great advice on watches for my wife. Well low and behold her profile had a great picture of her (which I posted link at beginning of thread). Regrettably I referred to her initially as a "lovely tart" trying to be complimentry. I was quickly schooled that this term is derogatory and meant everything from retarted to prostitute to terrorist. I quickly changed it and apologized to all the guys I offended. But Sql_pl saved the day. I know I have got a few ideas of watches for my wife from his pics tonight alone. Great marketing folks! Like it or not, sex sells!
  5. My God Sql_pl! I just got a chance to look at the pics you posted of your watch/gal collection (since I've been fending off our fellow members who are offended oby cool watches on pretty women and sharing the pics)....Unbelievable! I really think it is hot when my wife or a gal decides to wear a man's watch. Don't know what it is but could be a more public option of when our women wear our dress shirts as nighties etc. Great pics and keep up the good work. By the wat Tim, no place to discriminate here. If there are pics of guys and their watches, let 'em fly!! All watch enthusiest welcome! Thanks again Sql_pl!
  6. Ahhh. Pugwash you got me! You are clearly ther bigger more sensitive man. Thanks for setting me straight. Hell, I can't even spell. Now, lets see those watch babes!!!
  7. Pugwash, Pugwash, Pugwash. Are you one of those guys at parties that sits in the corner doing magic tricks? You know, making roses out of napkins and that kind of exciting fare?? I am so happy we have sensitives like you to keep us in check. Now Sql pl, that's more like it!!!
  8. Did it come without a bracelet? I can't believe that. or did you just want to keep the braclet for some reason and sell the watch?
  9. I enjoy when members tell stories about how they fooled or almost fooled ADs with their reps. But there is always the warning e-mail about how they were lucky not have watch taken or cops and swat teams called in for the stand-off and ultimate kill. Just curious if anyone has ever had legal or other issues with their reps from jewlers or other??? Is it real or just imagined threat? I know a hardcore dealer might try to say something but can never imagine he would declare it a rep, take it and demand you leave his store....I don't think they want the hassel. Infact, I can rather see a AD just telling a rep shiner "nice watch" and laughing with the staff after the guy leaves. I am not one to test the waters with ADs but I am looking for a local jewler I can trust that will work on my reps if I have problems or need serviced etc. Please tell your scary stories here!
  10. Scoobs 1971: What was it about the bracelet that would have or did give you away. My understanding is the recent rep SMPs are great on all aspects except bezel alignment and pearl. was not aware of bracelet flaws (other than screws which you really can't see). Anyone else??
  11. OK OK how about Sweet Tart? Anyhow, I corrected the politically incorrect word and apologize to any and all that were offended. especially the lovely Heather. Now lets get back to the subject at hand shall we? Who wears their watch the best??
  12. In the US I have never heard of "tart" being tied to a mentaly handicaped individual. In my opinion, probably most in US would not be too insulted if called a lovely tart. Anyone else in US have an opinion of the word Tart?
  13. Ouch Richard! I am on oxycodone and using with caution. 2 in the AM and 2 in the evening. But 2 quarts of Vodka in between (just kidding)
  14. Opps no I was not. Is that better? I I was going to post a picture of myself in a bikini in my profile as well but I don't think you want to see my man boobs! Nutter
  15. Looks like that does it boys. Its the SMP for me. Now I have to decide which dealer. Any insights? The only issue I will have a hard time resolving is the pearl. I can fix the bezel alignment pretty easy. If someone thinks one dealer has a better SMP over another, please chime in. Otherwise it will probaby be Josh for me as I think they are all from the same factory.
  16. Lots of enticing pics out there on members signature sidebars. I think there are some cuties about that dont have bezels.... Who is the hottest of the rep forums? Show us your "watches"! I nominate this fine young lady from Replica Watch Guide... http://www.replica-watches-guide.com/forum...?showuser=13110 Ouch!! She actaully is pretty cool and seems to have a brain as well...go figure I need to get a pic of my wife with a watch posted one of these days.
  17. My God this is fun. First you must know I am 44 and am laid up 4 weeks due to a hip replacement surgery 2 weeks ago. So lots of time and painkillers on hand (bad combo). My first experience with a rep watch was in Mexico when I paid $60 for a fake Yactmaster. Looking back it was pretty funny that I even wore it as It had a black dial and display caseback! Ha! Then I got a wild hair and paid a HUGE amount of money for a "swiss" LV rep from Idealwatches. Needless to say I could have bought 5 better reps from the reputable dealers discussed on this site for the same price. the LV was not even close (had polished link ends and terrible bezel etc). Live and learn. Then I bought a Panny form Andrew, then I tiger woods golf watch. Then a PO Ultimate from Josh, then another LV from Andrew, Then a YM ladies from Josh, then an Omega Aqua terra from Josh, now another LV from Paul (although I have ordered, I have yet to hear from him ). Then I bought dremel machine and caseback openers and polishers etc.... Now I am debating the SMP or SMP chrono. Then I saw an unbelievably beautiful Chpaord Gran Turismo from TTK and want to buy.. Ahhhh I am addicted!! I have to start hiding them from my wife I think it is fun as it really is a hobby. Also great to meet other enthusiaest.
  18. I am leaning towards the SMP. I just think the Chrono is too thick and rides too hign in the wrist thus making it problomatic when wearing with cuffed shirts etc. Great pic!
  19. Great point on the pins vs. screws. But unlike the Rolex subs, I don't think the pins or screws are that noticable....am I wrong? Anyone....Beuler....Bueler?
  20. Guys: I know the bezel alignment has been an issue on the Omega's. I went to Omega's website and pulled their picture of the SMP GMT and was shocked to find what I see as a misaligned bezel. http://www.omegawatches.com/index.php?id=2...&no_cache=1 I am also considering the SMP GMT but don't trust accuracy of display caseback (if anyone has insights as to how accurate Josh's caseback is on his GMT I would appreciate it). Thanks!
  21. chrgod: I read your review and comparison and is where I picked up much of my knowledge about these watches. Thanks! I am leaning toward SMP but Pearl is bugging me. B16a2: Did you get your bezel good out of box or have to do mod. If good from dealer who was dealer? Jeff g: Appreciate your caution but I think your concerns are dated. They make these pretty good now and feel some are waterproof out of box. I have had LV reps in pools with no mods or "waterproofing" with no problems. 5 years ago I might not consider. Besides, not that much money is it? Smalls: Do you know something I don't? Is there an updated SMP due. Only adjustment I can see them doing is bezel pearl alignment and pearl itself. Thanks all!
  22. Dieselpower. Great post! i have always thought a girl would look sexy wearing a man's sport watch such as Omega or Rolex SS. Did she adjust bands to fit or let hang loose? I can see the ladies like the loos hangers to emulate a bracelet. very Hot! I wish my wife would get into it!!
  23. I am considering ordering ordering one of these from Josh. I will have it waterproofed by him as I plan on wearing swimming etc. ( I live in Scottsdale so we live in the pool most of the year). Both have good points and bad. Any help out there to help decision?? SMP Good Great size (can wear with suit as Chrono is thicker and too sporty) Great movement ETA "bond" watch Bad Pearl not as good as Chrono not as flashy.. SMP Chrono Good Better pearl great rep compared to gen Bad Movement "shakey" Too thick to waer as dress watch
  24. Great comparison. Was rep out of the box or did you do mods? Reason is that the bezel on your rep is alligned correctly where most are not. Second, did you have it "waterproofed" or was it good out of box standard? Finally, was it Josh or Andrew? Who was dealer? Thanks!
