Update: Point Out The Flaws On The Following Pam´s

I would say that WAY to big is an exageration. Perhaps a little too big would be more accurate. Regardless - it is the best pam sub out there at the moment. -

Vintage Panerai Angelus - Enzo Project
Cucumber_Jones replied to Cucumber_Jones's topic in The Panerai Area
Thanks for all your questions. Enzo and I became friends long before this project began so when the idea came up he agreed. It may have had someting to do with the fact that I found two movements and he got to keep one of them. These hands are angelus hands that came with the movt/clock. They are the exact ones that were used in the gen vinatge panerai. There are many reasons why these are tough to put in a watch. Cannon Stack height, movt size from all angles and more. If enzo shows himself here perhaps he could answer more. The movt was also professionaly serviced before it went into the watch. -
Vintage Panerai Angelus - Enzo Project

Some more photos... -
Well many moon's ago I read Guille's project on one of the gen forums and I was inspired. However, I really did not care too much for the rolex movement. I really wanted an Angelus 8 day. I wanted one BAD. So I started looking and it took a LONG time. Then I came across two of them and I knew I needed to jump. This is where enzo came in at first. We both wanted one bad so I figgured that we could each take one and perhaps he would be kind enough to make mine in a watch. Well this was more then 1/2 a year ago now and I finaly have my beauty in hand. This is what inspired me... Since I already had a destro MM I thought I would go righty on this one. Let me tell you this. If you have read Guille's story, mine is the same. This is a very hard project and anyone who was able to make this movt work in a watch has learned a lot through trial and error. enzo was kind enough to make a very special strap for my project watch as well. I need to thank Davidsen as well as his vintage parts were inspired by enzo's suggestions and our needs for this project watch. Here are some photos. Once was a clock. Then just a movement (note that the alarm knocker was removed). Now it is a watch. Note enzo made strap. THANKS ENZO. Note to reader - we are already working on my next project!!

Why Some Poeple Get So Much Money For Modifications?
Cucumber_Jones replied to t's topic in General Discussion
All my watches tell the time - thus I cannot see why they are called fake watches? Perhaps you can say it is a fake panerai, but fake watch - nope. I like my fake panerai to glow in the dark and to tell the correct time. Thus a service and lume make sense to me. -

Why Some Poeple Get So Much Money For Modifications?

I guess I look at a watch as a lifestyle accesory and not as an investment. I am a Wealth Manager by profession and I have never sugested a Seadweller as a part of a portfolio. I have also never accepted one on a clients balance sheet. An investment in my opinion should apriceate not depreciate. -
Why Some Poeple Get So Much Money For Modifications?

It is nice to have bright lume. It is nice to have a watch serviced so you know it will last (like putting oil in your car engine) and it is nice to have the little details to your satisfaction. Lets say you put $500 in to a replica to buy it and get it modded. If the gen is $5,000 you are well ahead of the game. I really don't see what the problem is? A better question is why buy a gen when you can have a great replica at 1/10th of the price fully serviced? -
60 sweet clicks each one a charm.

Has Anyone Dealt With Perfect-clones.com?

Well then it is time for you to read - there will be time to post questions once you have finished reading. -
I don't like to generalize so I cannot say I like or dislike them however: The first thing I look at the the company that offers the funds and determine if I am happy to do buisness with them ( this is a big process). Then I look at the managers who run the fund and I want to understand thier history and if they work for the company or if they are subcontracted. Then I look at they type of fund it is as they are all different and I look at the style of management. I look to see that all this is suitable for my clients and that it would work for them in their portfolios. Finaly I look at the returns of the fund in relation to all the other things I investigated first. Consistancy if a big issue for me. I don't care what it did last year so much as I care how consistant the performance is and how it performs in bad times. This can be a long process but once I have done this work I can sleep at night. When you do proper due diligance you rarely have to fire a manager (or sell a fund). I hope this helps. and yes there are lots of good fund managers and funds in the US. I am in Canada however.

Floris - it ranges. I would inerview 2 or 3 Planners and ask what their investment processes are as well as how they get paid and what they charge. They expect to be asked these questions. It does range but on average .5 to 1% is average. Best of luck.

Don't take my comments to mean that it is not interesting to read everyones ideas of what has done well and or what will do well. It is tough not to get caught up in what has done well. We need to remember when you invest in something that has done well you are not retroactively earning those gains. You are only going to make money going forward and thus there must be good reason to buy the investment based on the future prospects - not just how well it has done in the past. "Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future performance" It is easy to recomend investments because they did well last year. However, the only way you can keep your clients is buy recomending investments that do well in the future.

Yes, I am a Private Wealth Manager. Floris, everyone has to start somewhere. I cannot remember what country you are in these days but most banks and or credit unions have Financial Planners that will work with you as they want to build a relationship that will go beyond your 8K. So again I would suggest professional advice. You noted that you need to take more risk to acheive a greater return. This is true, however, remember that with hat greater risk comes a greater risk of loss. You must ask youself how much you are prepared to loose. 2002 was a very telling year to many and it forced many people to redefine the amount of risk that they are "really" prepared to accept. The markets have been very strong for the past few years and when this happens people tend to think they can handle more risk then they should. We will have a bad year again (perhaps sometime soon) and thus you must only expose yourself to an apropriate amount of risk. This is where the professional advice helps, they should help you determine what level of risk is right for you.
