  1. some new dialZZZZZ latest cream dial update, Southy thick text (not keen on the thick text personally) 39mm dial. mock up small egiziano , dial not resin or lumed, plexi not fitted properly yet and hands and crown not aged yet. BROWN DIALS !!!!! dial as a 3646 i've been wanting to do for a while. I know it's 37mm and it's not a perfect fit in this case but you get the idea. Brown set done
  2. I've been wanting to try a fluffy suede type vintage Rolex strap with a pam twist for a while. I haven't decided how much to age the amazing Elias brass knife edge buckle yet, I might see how it develops on it's own for a change. Perfect for my Rolerai.
  3. Another tan vintage leather strap for a 2533, trying to get colour and finish of ref picture. Made from an old vintage military mail pouch complete with an amazing Elias aged and weathered brass knife edge buckle.
  4. nope, not this one, it's another keeper
  5. There's been an update on this: The four liner has been retired for the moment and given a fresh new look with an LP dial with sub seconds and wide hands from Adrian. The dial is Adrian's painted, resin filled, cracked and lumed by me. New Rlx plates are from Marlin
  6. This has been 8 months in the making, not long by some standards on this forum I know, but the longest for me. I've had some great help along the way, special mentions to Mel, mark_midlands, Elias and 951MAX. The original inspiration came from the movement that I picked up late last year. I know it's not gen but it's a beautiful thing and I couldn't see it mounted in anything else. The case is River's 6154 with a lot of reshaping. Because the stem was 0.9 and I couldn't find a replacement I decided to replace River's crown and tube with one from Athaya (his new bronze 8mm would look amazing here but he doesn't have it in 0.9mm) I drilled out the hole for the tube and wanted to raise the tube away from the case and solder it up like the old Rlx's , after many failed attempts mark stepped in and did an amazing job at soldering for me. Never one to let it be and despite Marks amazing job, I had already ordered the 'correct' solder and decided to add to what Mark had done and sand it back. The dial is one of V's amazing Rol's that I have lightly aged, it is so stunning that I can't bring myself to go nuts with it. The movement is still a little vague, as far as I can make out it's Swiss made and branded Nacar, and all I can find reference to is Turkish railroad pocket watches. I gave it a clean and filled the engraved text with red acrylic, it's the most accurate movement I've owned. Hands are Adrians, I had a spare set of cali hands that I'd stripped off the blue and had been heat treating but I decided to 'borrow' a double pencil minute hand from another set and treat it the same, it's a combination of heat, then egg in a bag, then lumed with the good old stuff AKA cornholio, topped off with a faux CP The strap I made along with Elias's nickel vintage knife edge brass buckle. I wanted it to have some vintage Rol feel the way it is stitched and it is soft as butter. On to the pics, I just re-finished my 6152/1 with an LP dial and new hands so that's crept in to some of the shots too I had some issues with the movement slowing, i think screwing the crown down may have worn away some solder that got on to the thread, I filed down the stem a fraction at a time and it seems to have worked. The crown is not pressing the stem against the movement now and when it's screwed down everything ticks along nicely. Oh and I decided while it was off that I would 'bronze' the crown too.....just becuzzzz here are somenew pics.
  7. Here's a new but very old strap. Here it is mounted on a River 3646, this really makes me want to keep it and buy myself a 3646 kit
  8. During my holiday in Spain I picked up an old military leather belt, it was in pretty scruffy dry condition and had a very cracked surface but parts of it were still soft so I thought I'd take a gamble. I've used saddle soap and leather conditioners as well as some aloe vera hand gel which absorbed and moistened the leather quite well after stitching I gave a couple of coats of tan-kote to try and seal the surface as it does still shed a few bits, over time it with naturally rub of more loose pieces. stitching was kept to a minimum because I didn't want to encourage the leather to split under pressure. I'm very pleased with teh Elias brass buckle, I burnt off some olive oil over the stove then soaked it in salt water and vineger then left it plied up with a bunch of old coins outside in the rain overnight, the finish is really nice. This is a keeper and a little memento of my holiday.
  9. new update, I've not added to my collection with these but rather given a facelift to this one And finally got the dial that this build has been waiting for.

  11. The cases I use for these come from different suppliers but most now are not full rep watches, they are custom made cases then other parts are bought and fitted. They are not bought ready to tick and wear, I build them to my specification.

  22. a newly painted set of vintage dials, 3 RP and 3 LP . The RP's have been sanded down a little to fit in River's 6154 case. Athaya tall tube wide hands stripped 'egged' and lumed by me. Case reshape and heavily worn by me. These aren't finished builds yet, one of the dials is going in this case and i'll make a faux CP for it when it's done and of course I will do a little photoshoot
