  1. I am considering joining the group buy for the Ferrari chrono supplied by Sash http://www.rwg.cc/members/Sash-Panerai-Fer...008-t23414.html and have a question about the movement in this watch. I thought the Asian 7750 had a native sub dial layout at 6, 9 and 12 with running seconds at 9 while this watch has sub dials at 3 and 9, running seconds are at 9 and I think the "3" dial is a minute counter. Does this mean that this movement has additional gearing installed to drive the sub dial at 3 or are there variations of this movement that have this layout as standard. I have made a point of avoiding this movement with seconds at "6", too many horror stories for me and I don't want to buy into the same kind of problem if that is the case with this one. I have searched the forum for this info but came up blank. Thanks for any help or pointers
  2. Don't see how 280USD is wholesale if that is the price she offers on a single purchase, my understanding of the word "wholesale" is the price at which a dealer buys in their stock.
  3. So why was she asking for 10 buyers to achieve the group buy price???
  4. I have to pass on this one but just FYI I emailed an enquiry to King from my private email address, so no connection to this board, and was quoted 280 USD with free shipping for a single purchase so I don't see why the numbers need to reach 10 for a group buy.
  5. Slightly confused, maybe someone can clarify. King's website shows pictures of the watch fitted with both leather and rubber straps and describes the watch thus: PANERAI-PANERAI-PAN-173-Ferrari ASIAN 7750 MOVEMENT 28800bhp with SAPPHIRE Have leather strap with rubber strap SIZE:44.5mm Don't mean to be dim but does this mean that both straps are supplied and if not which do you get? I've emailed King about this but no reply yet. Regards Nigel
  6. Possible interest in the chrono.....dependant on price of course!
  7. It's a Helium valve. Not a button that you push, rather it turns, anti clockwise to open and reverse to close. Not sure if its functional (as a valve) on the rep though.
  8. I've had mine for about a week and so far it's been great. I bought mine from Vmena, who originally purchased it from King, so I don't know if that has any bearing on things. It's my first A7750 so I'm quite careful about how I use it (don't change date after 10pm, reset the chrono between 10 and 2 ect.) I haven't had it serviced yet as I'm still waiting for a quote from a local watch repairers, but to be honest I may just chance it. The power reserve seems to be a bit low, but I've since read that the A7750 only winds in one direction (didn't know this before purchase) and perhaps this is why I'm finding it not lasting as long as my gen Aquaracer or copy Rolex Sub Eta. I still get about 18-24hrs if I have it on all day and take it off when I get home from work. Maybe I'm being too picky, after all it is a rep. The movement is unaltered and the seconds sub dial at 9 o'clock sweeps cleanly without any skips or jumps. However when using the chrono, the minute hand (at 12 o'clock) clicks forward when the second hand reaches 58 seconds. For me this isn't a big deal as I don't use the chrono and besides, if I was wanting to time something accurately I wouldn't use a copy anyway The chrono buttons feel solid when you push them in.. there's a definitive 'click' which feels very similar to my gen Aquaracer. I doubt you'd be able to accidentally activate the chrono and risk any damage to the A7750 while out and about wearing it. The crown pulls out (doesn't unscrew) so I'm not sure what that means for water resistance? I don't wear my watches in the shower or out scuba diving (scuba what?) so this doesn't bother me I've got both the SS and Rubber straps. They both feel extremely well made - the SS bracelet particularly. The polished links are actually separate to the brushed stainless steel sections. Resizing was actually very easy despite what some other members have said, although we did use a proper tool. This may also have been aided by Vmena having cleaned and oiled it before sending it to me - thanks Vmena! The release catch also feels very well made - in my opinion much better than the Omega Ultimate PO release clasp. The ends of the links all seem to be cleanly finished, except for the last ones, which are only noticeable when not wearing the watch. I actually bought this watch for the rubber strap, but because it uses a deployment buckle (which again is very well made) and having small wrists (thanks mum ) it just doesn't fit on my wrist correctly. I'm not disappointed though, the SS is fine. The dial is extremely well replicated. I haven't gone as far as to measure the sizes of the hour markers ect., but comparing it to a gen in a ADs window made me appreciate the copy even more. The only niggle I have about the dial on this model, is that the chrome finish around the sub dials at 12 and 6 have a slightly jagged edge where they meet the pattern around the outer edge. Noticeable only up close and for me, not a big deal. If this is the type of thing that bothers you, there are three other Carrera models where I think this problem doesn't exist because there isn't a patterned edge, so pick one of those (brown's my next favourite!). The date is slightly off centre - towards the top right, however the font looks to be correct. It doesn't bother me too much and on some days it actually appears centred. I think this is something that can be changed, but I'm not sure? The only lume is on the hour and minute hands, which unless it's held under a lamp for several seconds, doesn't really do anything. This is also the same on my gen Aquaracer, so maybe Tag lume is really crap and it's actually a good copy In certain light the red hands sometimes, to my eyes, look cheap. I can't really explain it, they just don't look to have the same quality as the rest of the watch. They look like they're plastic (I'm not sure, are watch hand made of metal or plastic?) so again, if this is something that might bother you, then pick one of the other models available. A couple of small points - There’s no AR on the crystal (the same as the gen), it has a glass back so you can see the nicely engraved rotor and there’s also the same engravings as the original. If you can live with the A7750 then it’s a great watch. Very close copy. I have no problems wearing it around friends who wear expensive gens and would be surprised if an AD spotted it wasn’t real without having a proper inspection. Buy it and enjoy it!
  9. You might want to do a search on this forum for Replicahause before you waste your money. Buy from one of the dealers here and save yourself a load of grief.
  10. If you're in the UK, Beaverbrooks the Jewellers sometimes have three year interest free credit deals. The watch will still be full price, but you'll get the warranty and in the case of a gen PO 45, be able to pay it off at a very resonable £50 per month or there abouts. - The only interest free deal they have on their website is 12 months at the moment. I think the stores might still be offering the 36 month/ 3 year deal.
  11. I bought a Rolex Submariner LV for the simple reason that I like it and cannot afford the original. I don't wear it to show off to people, it usually stays under my cuff while I'm at work and even if I wear a short sleeve shirt, my friends aren't really into watches they would notice anyway. In fact the only person I've really shown it to is my boss and even then I said 'check out this great replica'. What I like most about it is, I paid £130 and it keeps more accurate time than my genuine Aquaracer, which my friends haven't paid any attention to either! Sometimes I think it's a bit flash buying a copy Rolex, but then I think who cares. The quality is great and if anyone questions it, I'll just tell them where I got it and bore them with the details
  12. I have one from PT and the lume is fine. Just a couple of other small issues, neither of which is a problem to me. the bezel on mine was so stiff when I got it I thought maybe it didnt turn at all but its starting to ease ok now is this normal on reps? I decided to size the bracelet myself and then wished I paid someone to do it for me, only had to remove two links but they were hell to remove and I broke one pin trying to re-join the links. This is the hardest bracelet I have ever re-sized and I have done a few and yes I do have a link pin remover. Overall excellent watch.
