  1. The problem with your second movement sounds like the spring on the keyless works cover isn't fully engaged against the yoke, see HERE for a fuller explanation.
  2. Good point,"little white lies" anyone. Also being advertised as "Swiss" HERE. My first thought when I saw this was that it looked Swiss but the consensus amongst those who have expressed opinions in this thread suggests clone. Thoughts anyone?
  3. What makes you all so sure this is a clone; I for one haven
  4. A lot of people sell clones as "Swiss" because that's what the dealer advertised the watch as having when they bought it. If you can post a hi res close up of the top of the balance assembly it will be easier to tell exactly what you got there.
  5. The stamp under the balance will tell you what it's supposed to be 2824/2836. However, the lack of holes on the reversing wheels suggest this is probably a chinese clone, not a bad movement but not Swiss. A clearer close up of the balance cap assembly would help to make a definite id.
  6. Not saying this is a fake, just a few subtle differences on the movement, if you could get a clear shot of the movement showing the balance it would be an easier tell.
  7. Well I can see some small differences between the movements but I suppose that's possible as Oris uses both ETA and Sellita movements. Mine is an ETA 2836-2 do you know what's in this one?
  8. Case back shot of my gen for comparison.
  9. Don't see the pictures you linked to and I think I'd like to see a more detailed image before commenting. Edit to add: just too late, now I see the pics
  10. http://www.cousinsuk.com/catalog/4/75/328.aspx ETA28932251H95 ETA28932251H104 ETA28932251H119 Three different heights depending on which you need
  11. Not so. This is one of the newer 2836-2 watches (recently sold) and as you can see the wings are perfect
  12. I have some links and the pins and tubes, drop me a pm with your address and I'll be happy to post some to you.
  13. See HERE I have one of these partially re-assembled and its not the easiest I've ever worked on, might be better to start your learning curve on something like the 2801 or even the 2824
  14. That's an ETA 2472, a google search should find any info you need.
  15. Check out the second photo in the review HERE, I've never seen a hologram on the caseback either.
  16. Welcome ronnie, I'm in Devon so I guess in the global scheme of things that makes us neighbours. Enjoy your time here
  17. This should help. http://www.eta.ch/swisslab/6497/6947.html
  18. Looks like the setting wheel, you can get this from Cousins P/N ETA2890450 cost is
  19. I presume you mean the rotor and if so its secured to the autowind bridge by a single screw. If that didn't fall out the back when you opened the watch its still in the movement somewhere, look very carefully and if you spot it remove it even more carefully, there's a lot in there that is easily damaged. The fact that the rotor has come off doesn't unfortunately address the issue of the chrono hand shifting on its post, the fix for that is to remove the hand and re-set it.
  20. That trick only works on quartz movements, on the 7750 you'll have to re-position the hand on its post.
  21. Francisco covered it HERE
