I also think the end links don't line up to the case 100% on the rep, leaving a small gap. In picture 1, the watch on the right has this problem. On my father's Aquaracer the spring bars are bent for the end links to fit into the lug holes, which annoyingly allows the bracelet to move around slightly. Perhaps the factory designed the watch around the rubber strap to begin with?

Agreed. I too have managed to open all my screw back watches with the tape method, including the supposedly 1000m waterproof SFSO, mostly because the case backs weren't properly tightened in the first place.

Hi Thanos same thing happened to my PO, I used a 2 part epoxy to re-fix the insert, holding fast so far. Oh, and by the way, you now owe me royalties for using my picture. :whistling:

If you're located in Europe then I'd recommend buying from Precious Time. Ships from the UK so no customs issues to worry about and he handles everything he sells so you shouldn't have any QC issues either.

I have exactly the same thing on my new Tag Aquaracer, I'm hoping this is normal too.

Thanks for the reply doc, just wanted to know if this was a general fault. I expect my dealer will take care of this for me.

Just got my day/date aquaracer and after the initial excitement I've been having a closer look and this has just jumped out at me, The nine marker is set too high on the dial, it should be lined up with the 45 line on the seconds sub dial and consequently this side of the dial looks completely cocked , anyone else with this watch have this issue?. Just noticed the ten marker is a bit off also, needless to say now I know this flaw is there I see it every time I look at the watch. What a dissapointment. azerbyjam

Laz, I'm always apprehensive about reading your posts because it seems something bad happens to you all of the time! I went into a watchmaker while working in Torquay yesterday to enquire about ordering a replacement hand. The instant I entered the shop I got a strange feeling and after I finished talking with one of the staff, I knew I wouldn

I bought my father one of these 12 months ago, just before we found RWG. It's a really nice watch, perhaps the surround around the dial looks a bit cheap, but the watch feels pretty weighty and well designed. The strap feels very solid, but has polished midlinks which are a nightmare to keep clean and scratch free. I think I payed about

I don't think the gen is AR coated, TAG don't list it on their spec for this model so having the rep done would be a bit of a giveaway.

I saw Rush Hour 3 tonight at the cinema and I'm pretty sure Chris Tucker was wearing something that looked very similar to the Timewalker... mines on order, those pics look fabulous!

Tag Heuer Formula 1 Indy 500 quartz chronograph
azerbyjam replied to azerbyjam's topic in The Tag Heuer Area
Nope, missing that bit. Just another small detail that I noticed from those pictures, the rep doesn't have the two small indents on the inside of each of the outer links in the bracelet as shown in the second picture. -

Really sad to hear another story about members doing the dirty on other members Perhaps transcripts of emails ect, should be forwarded to admin to have these [censored] banned.

I think that while checking for waterproofing if you want to swim or dive with these watches, it would be advisable to make sure the bezel insert is secure. From what I've seen you're just as likely to lose the insert as have water find its way into the case. Remember, quality control is variable at best.

The first one from Trusty is the more accurate Tag Heuer F1 Indy 500 rep, but silix has a better version of it here - http://www.silix-prime.com/product.asp?id=1799. You can read a review of it here The second one you asked about (white dial, black bezel) is a fantasy rep.

Well I've got one on order from PT and if it has the alignment issue I'm going to follow your excellent tutorial and do this myself.
-
Yeah, well I'd certainly go along with that, just one of those QC issues that you get with reps I suppose. 2 part epoxy it is then.

Tag AquaRacer Chronograph Day-Date (1:1)
azerbyjam replied to Victoria's topic in The Tag Heuer Area
A couple of pics of my gen date only model to confirm the bezel alignment issue. First, the bezel aligned: bezel "mis-aligned" Hope this helps. -
Tag AquaRacer Chronograph Day-Date (1:1)
azerbyjam replied to Victoria's topic in The Tag Heuer Area
Correct! The insert is fixed and the bezel rotates so the "mis-alignment" you see on TK471's picture is purely down to the fact that the bezel hasn't been lined up. No problem. -
