  1. No explanation but I have experienced the same thing on a standard 7750, the movement seems to keep good time once it's caught up so no big deal for me.
  2. I'm with you pug, great rep of a great watch. I wish the gen was $2000 where I live, from an AD here in the UK it's
  3. Same here, for the last two days.
  4. I'd really like the standard automatic of this watch. Not sure what the 'pearl' is like compared to the gen - stuck on, painted on?
  5. If anyone would like to buy a crap pen drop me a PM.
  6. Great pics Neil, I've never noticed these watches on the SS bracelet before - really makes it imo! Do the spring bars have to be bent for the end links to fit?
  7. Great pics I've really started to appreciate the new Chopard replicas that are appearing. Is this the bargain $100 version or the more expensive A7750? EDIT> Great minds think alike chrgod
  8. I emailed River and the reply states that the movement is as per the pics, 21600bph!!!

  10. As my old granny used to say "I'm as old as my tongue and a bit older than my teeth" :p
  11. Same movements. You might want to read The Zigmeister's posts regarding servicing these movements, if you're planning on your purchase being a keeper then its probably worth the investment to have it serviced. There are as many good reports as bad about these and my own experience is mixed. I had a Tag Aquaracer which had a faulty chrono function (returned to dealer) and I have a Tag Link chrono which has been a flawless runner so far, not yet serviced but I might get it done sometime.
  12. Well on that subject Fred, I bought my UPO about ten months ago from a dealer on this board who advertised it as having an ETA 2836 movement. Several months after purchase I got the itch to fiddle and bought some tools so that I could have a look inside and when I did I found it had a Selita SW200 movement. At first I was a bit put out and there was some discussion on the board about these movements at that time but the consensus was that the SW200 is a good (Swiss) movement and because it is functionally the same as the ETA 2836, 28800bph but 26 jewels instead of the ETA's 25, I was happy to let it go. The movement has worked flawlessly since new and is accurate to +/-3 seconds a day and I would be more than happy to buy another.
  13. 2834-2 is a 28800bph movement same as the 2824 and 2836 so in terms of the sweep of the second hand there isn't any difference. It's a day/date configuration although the day feature would obviously not be used in the PO. Hope this helps.
  14. Don't know what shipping method they use but I recently sent an item from UK to Georgia by airmail and it took six days.
  15. The Selita SW 200 is a 26 jewel movement and is functionally similar to the ETA 2824 and has the same beat rate at 28,800. It's been around the rep world for at least the last 12 months, I bought an Ultimate PO about 10 months ago which was advertised as "Swiss ETA" and it turned out to be the SW200, also bought a Steelfish which was claimed to be ETA but that too had the Selita movement. I would be more than a little surprised if there aren't quite a few of these Selita's around, not that it should be cause for concern, they are excellent movements and are probably more Swiss than a lot of other movements with ETA stamped on them.
  16. ^ Ahhh, the batmobile
  17. Well if you want to avoid potential customs issues try PT, he's based in and ships from the UK.
  18. How big's your wrist John? I've been looking at this for so long, but have been put off by the dimension. Great photo's by the way!
  19. Pix, thanks for the link. I've never bought anything on iOffer before. I see the dealer also has a pretty good looking Tag Heuer Carrera for $130.. temptedings The Aquaracer looks like a hybrid made up from the 42mm and 40mm designs - chrono buttons, dial badge/pattern ect. who knows, maybe this is the replacement design for 2008
  20. The only noticeable flaws would be the dial arrangement (but we know why) and the pushers, which are rounded on the 40mm version. How much is this model?
  21. Unlikely that a local repair shop would take your watch, just be sure to say that it's a rep and ask if they will work on it before you take it to them.
  22. Good quality deployant every time, much less wear and tear on the strap than you will get with a tang buckle.
  23. How many watches is it being limited to? A few years ago they did a limited edition to celebrate Hakkinen's championship win, but I don't think it went up in any value. Ok, Hamilton didn't win it this year, but four wins and second is still pretty impressive. At least F1 isn't at the marketing levels of NASCAR yet
  24. Well this refers to the beat rate of the 2500c calibre used in the genuine watch, 25200 beats per hour (7 ticks per second). I have had two UPO's, one with an ETA 2824 and one with a Selita SW200 and both had a beat rate of 28800bph (8 ticks per second) and the sweep looked identical as you would expect. As far as I know and I don't claim to be an expert on this, both the 2824 and the 2836 have a beat rate of 28800 and should therefore sweep the same.
  25. I found re-attaching the SS a nightmare! You shouldn't have any problems attaching the leather however.
