I bought an ultimate PO about February this year, advertised as "Swiss ETA" turned out to be a Selita SW200. The movement has worked flawlessly and keeps great time, never more than +/-3 seconds per 24 hours. The only thing that makes me think you don't have this movement is that I'm fairly sure the SW200 winds in both directions. Don't know if this helps or not.

Well my dealer agreed to take this one back and replace it, it was my bad luck that that the post office lost it in transit. So I bought another which I received a few days ago and this one has a movement problem, the six sub dial randomly re-sets to different places on the dial so this one is also about to go back...third time lucky I hope!!!

That's interesting- perhaps a service would improve it?

I'll keep monitoring it, perhaps even have it serviced at some point - maybe that will improve the duration or the automatic winding? As you say, driving alone should keep it 'charged' up more than enough.. especially the way I drive

Vic, thanks for the input! When I first got the watch, I used The Zigmeister's fifty wind rule so I'm pretty confident that when fully wound it will last for 49hrs. I'm testing it again though just to check. It might not mean anything, but when I opened the watch back, the movement appeared to be the newer style A7750 with the machined 'fish scales' finish. I is not very clever like Pug, you've got a few A7750s, what would you say the average power reserve is after a handwind or wearing for a few days?

Amazingly my new Tag Link tachy has a 49hr power reserve when fully hand wound, however after a few days wear on the wrist it has perhaps only 20hrs (I need to investigate this some more) before it stops. I was quite impressed with the 49hrs, but slightly disappointed with the results through normal wear. Is this normal for the A7750? What about the variations of this movement? - seconds at six, seconds at three, 7753 layout, 21bph/21J version. Do they have the same, better or worse power reserves?

Probably a waste of time reporting anything to Ebay. I've reported loads of fakes to them and although they say they'll look into it most of the reported items reach the end of the auction. Ebay just want their fees.

When I rang Mont Blanc enquiring about a replacement strap I had the same thing, but when I rang a high st jewellers once to order a leather TH strap, I gave them the model number from the website and it was fine.

Hi guys, I treated myself to the newest Timewalker watch from PT last month and while I love it to pieces, there's something that's been bugging me since I received it - the date wheel alignment. It's the Swiss Eta 2836-2 movement, but with the date at 6 o'clock. Sometimes the date's positioned correctly, whilst at others it's closer to the left. Also, when flicking through the dates using the crown set on the quick date change function, between positions 5 -10 and 21-26 there's no 'click' when the date changes over. Yet on all the others you can almost feel it changing over. So, has the date wheel not been aligned correctly at the factory? Does it sound like a non eta date wheel has been used and would buying a genuine one fix it? or have I damaged the keyless works in someway? My next question, does anyone know how to uncase the movement? I tried to last week, but having unscrewed the case back, removing the crown and movement screws, found that the dial was too big to be removed from the back There's a small lip on the bezel edge at 10 o'clock, which I assume is pushed upwards to remove the crystal and gain access to the hands and dial. If anyone could tell me how, I'd appreciate it

I was out with friends and only breifly caught 'McRae.. something, something' on a Sky News bulletin and was so sad when I caught the full story. What a terrible end and some reports are saying his son was onboard I was lucky enough to see him driving at this years Goodwood Festival of Speed. Awesome video Pug and a great way to remember a driving legend!
