Dealers Disappearing? There May Be A Reason..
olivia replied to sashwatch's topic in General Discussion
Yep and part of the program is "Undertaking test purchases often forms part of wider investigations into the infringement of clients -
Agreed...the canon pin is slipping. Cannon pinions are designed to slip under certain conditions, such as when you set a watch. When you set one backwards, not all second hands stop...some continue to run. So, enough force can cause them to slip without stopping the watch. That is the only point I was making. Not trying to "out The Zigmeister", The Zigmeister.
-
Sounds like it is slipping...but problem may not be with cannon pinion...could be another gear providing too much resistance. But, it is definately under the dial in one of the gears that drives the date change.

Show me in V's post where they insulted his world view. We are all making certain assumptions as to their intent, which I do not believe is supported by what we were told. Suppose this is a true story. I know of two elderly ladies who believe in God. They have a dear friend who is gravely ill. These two ladies believe in prayer. They decide to try to find others who believe in God to pray for their friend and go through a community to find such believers. They knock on V's door and ask if anyone in this house believes in God. Do you think thay is some sort of insult?
-
I don't think there is much evidence for that in V's initial post.. that they had no respect for his beliefs. They asked him essentially the same question that V asked everyone in this forum, i.e., Does anyone in this 'house' believe in God? Do you conclude that V is trying to change our beliefs?

Now that is an amazing movement. I had seen those in your photobucket...you have a gold one too, don't you?
-
I agree...it is really a noce watch. Sending you a message.
-
Oh...no....you answered THAT question.( I agree with you, but was not about to get into a debate over the differences between the two.)

Oh...Come on PW...you are smarter than that. The period of the pendulum is greater than the presidents' term.

I am not the expert on FA Jones, as Tourby is, but my River FA Jones(not skeleton), is probably one of the best rep watches I have, quality wise. The chinese 6497 runs great and keeps COSC time at +4 seconds per 24 hours. It also has greater than 48 hours reserve. I left it fully wound Friday at 12 noon....went away for the weekend, came back Sunday at 2:30 PM and it was still running with correct time. Now, I have had a couple of watches, non-rep, with the Unitas 6498 and this watch runs far better than any of the gens I have had with the unitas movement. Just my experience.
-
Very nice watch. Tourby, just sent you an email.

Oh, Dani...I am so sorry. I love your dogs.

I have bought 16610 and the GMT insert from this seller and I think they are quite good....actually as good or better than what I have received from my watch materials supply house and much less costly. They are far superior to what comes on the reps, and have the proper bevel on the back like the gens.

yada...yada...yada The well dressed man wears a solid 14 K gen watch with a leather strap. That's the final answer.

Good for you Vacuum, and your courage to say so. I'm with you. NIL ILLEGITIMUS CARBORUNDUM

Is France’s Center Falling Apart? by Doug Merrill " On Jan. 31, Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy visited a Paris shopping mall to win support for the center-right in upcoming elections. Within minutes, a group of youths -- most of North African background -- began hurling insults. Sarkozy, a potential presidential candidate, was chased until he reached a police station. The school system is increasingly ill-adapted to the multicultural and multi-ethnic nation France has become. Underfunded universities are prompting an unprecedented brain drain. And the arrogance of the big political parties is alienating voters. A recent example is the government’s support of former Prime Minister Alain Jupp?, head of the ruling party, after his conviction on corruption charges. With few public figures to respect, North African kids often figure they’ve nothing to lose if they join extremist movements. At the other end of the spectrum, plenty of native French are ready to ditch the old doctrines of moderation for something nastier. With regional elections due on Mar. 21 and 28, polls already are showing important gains for extremist parties -- and losses for the center-left and center-right coalitions that have long held the reins of power. Given the current climate in France, it’s hard to be surprised -- and hard not to be discouraged."

"The bolded quote was what I answered them.. I guess they will not visit again my house for a long period of time... or maybe ever again." All the more reason to send "hoards of believers" to your door....for they now have a real mission.

All 22 posts are useless. You have to ask a woman. Where is ISO?

Where Did You Graduate From And What Degrees Do You Hold?
olivia replied to thomasng's topic in The looney bin
In the U.S. there is more federal/grant/scholarship college assistance for the "poor" student than for anyone else. So, any student who has demonstrated the ability to do college work can get into a college and can get the financial aid to make college feasible for them. They may have to take a part time job to help, though, and many do. That is not to say that everyone should get a college education. For many, a technical school or trade school is the best choice. -
Have not found a saphire with correct size for FA Jones. My River FA Jones has a good glass crystal; I don't see anything wrong with it. Tourby called it SH*T , or at least Josh and Andrew's version. But not all are the same.

V 's original post could be interpreted that way, but after re-reading it, it isn't 100% clear to me that he had bought parts specifically for bean. Only V knows for sure. In any case bean apoligized and V accepted. Life moves on.

Holy crap....Those Timex TX 500 watches are around $500 ... unbelievable. You can get a Seiko SLT for probably less than that with workd time and perpetual calendar features.
